Downloaded, installed but could not register. Kept getting 302 Bad Gateway on my dialup. Program was trying to register to paragon-software.com and I have to believe their server was overloaded that night. Very disappointing in the least.
Oh well I'll stick with Acronis True Image

The timing was perfect for me. My hard drive on my laptop was getting pretty full and I needed to upgrade to a larger drive. The GOTD Paragon Drive Copy 9.0 Personal SE installed quickly and easily. I then copied the entire contents of my 2.5" SATA drive to one three times larger. It included two partitions, the main drive and a recovery drive. Paragon Drive Copy 9.0 Personal SE worked perfectly and there were no difficulties whatsoever. I can truly recommend this software if you ever need to replace or upgrade your hard drive. Two thumbs up.

PROBLEMS INSTALLING

One aspect can be the download, so use use a download manager as Free Download Manager, or better still Firefox with Downthemall, this is because files can be left out when a site is having heavy traffic.

Tried all evening to get the registration page to come up, but Paragon's site was apparently swamped. Registration for this giveaway should have been extended -- it's not our fault that Paragon can't handle a little traffic!

I never did get through to the Paragon web site, so I am out of luck. Looks like Paragon was not prepared for the response. That's a shame.

Like many others, I have had nothing but problems trying to install.

DL to find file corrupt.

DL a second time to find GOTD key not working. After re-boot it did work...Only to find Paragon web site off line - impossible to register!!

Try again to find GOTD key brocken again...DL a third time to try and fix the brocken key - reboot - clear temp folder - reboot - everything I can think of - But still GOTD wrapper key will not decrypt.

To sum up...Due to GOTD having a brocken wrapper key and Paragon being off line, I am not able to use todays GA.

Bit peeved because I am on pre pay broadband which means I actually had to pay for the 210MB of DL to get nothing for it...and it wasn't my fault!

Be a nice gesture if Paragon and GOTD fixed the errors (so that we could re-use the already DL 75MB) and offered again to show good will :)

successful registration. Also, as someone pointed out, Vista 32-bit
is not listed at all on the compatibility chart.

Try downloading Paragon Rescue Kit 9.0 Express which is available on this very page, and use it to rebuild/repair your boot sector on the new drive. Should take care of the problem you've described....
Good Luck!

It's been a while since I last checked into this site. Looks like a real winner here today. I use either Acronis or Norton Ghost but since this is free I will give it a try. I recognize Paragon as a major name associated with quality products and the reviews here are certainly positive. Thanks GOTD and Paragon for sharing this.

Not sure if it matters but I waited after filling in registration from the initial installation screen over 2 hours no email arrived with the required information.

I was stuck at the ID/key entry screen during this wait. I clicked on the registration button at this screen again & followed the registration process and received email in a few min. Not sure if that will help or not but worked for me!

My email came within 7 minutes but it's in Spanish. I assume nombre del usario (name of user?) is the product key and clave de registro is the serial number. When I plug these into the proer areas I do not get an active NEXT button. I can only cancel or go back. Any help here? Thanks.

I did a clone of my partition on new drive partition with Paragon partition '05 and Drive copy 8, both free SE software. It's cool worked, but still had to activate window's xp on new drive. Then, I decided to do something a little more advanced, and used the merge partition w/ allocate free space wizard on a different multi-partitioned drive. It didn't work out. It ended up converting my Fat32 to NTFS, it never finished the merging part or reallocating space. There was an error and it created one NTFS with 0 or 1 cluster size (corrupted?), and converted the other ok. Anyway, I couldn't stop the process once it started. It previewed OK though. Anyway, I lost one partition or 35GB of space. I hope they fixed this problem in the recent versions.

I totally agree with #32. If for nothing else, get this for its recovery feature. From Aprils Paragon giveaway, I made a recovery cd and unfortunately had to use it this week. My external has four partitions on it and one of them (370 gig) has bad sectors. This drive isn't even recognized as installed when I click on 'my computer'. The only way for me to retrieve any data was by booting from the recovery cd. The Paragon program was able to recognize and read information when windows explorer couldn't. I'm currently typing from another computer and I'm just sorry that the retrieval process is still running on my computer as I would like to have downloaded this program as well.

#111 Yes, unfortunately it will copy the virii back onto your computer, if they were there during the time of the copy. If your copy was virus free, it will overwrite and erase any virii that happen to be present on your drive.

I am having the same dilema as #89. I want to make a copy of my small
80GB laptop hard drive on my laptop and place it on my external 500GB
hard drive. There is already about 200 GB of stored data on my ext.
that I don't wish to lose, but when I use this Paragon "wizard" it
says I will lose that data if I copy my little 80GB onto the 500GB??
Why is this so? There should be room for 5 or 6 complete 80 GB copys?
Any help would be much apprieciated!!
By the way, thanks again GAOTD but I am not sure if I can use this.
William

I have just downloaded, activated, unpacked, installed and registered this package to my desktop pc running WinXP Home Edition WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM at all BUT cannot achieve the same result when I tried to do the same on my laptop pc with almost identical OS configuration. Does this mean that one is entitled TO ONLY ONE activation per package????

Does anyone know approx time to backup 300-500GB?

After a created a partiton in my C: drive, I moved all my personal files into it and found none of my short cuts would work. I copied the files back to C:, restarted and still none of them would work. I have now files everything off to my external drive. QUESTION: How do I delete the partitons so I can try to restore my system? AND, my backup disk won't work since I made the changes. If all else fails, where can I get a restore disk for my Vista Home 32?

#98 thanks for your kindness reply! :-)

I guess I'll stick to my current setup(norton Ghost) then,
it backup partition & files,
does the same job(as Paragon drive backup),
and I have chance to restore or leave it as it is.
the advantage for Paragon Drive Copy over norton Ghost is:
it can copy your current system C: to another smaller hard drive
(example: from a 20GB to 10GB which norton Ghost can't?)

not saying that GAOTD and Paragon kindness of offering this for free,
but I'm not gonna install EVERY piece of software GAOTD offer...LOL!
my PC will run as slow as broke if I do it that way...

anyway, thanks GAOTD and Paragon! :-)
