Belgian Dude, I am Samuel, from Moyea Software. On behalf of the Moyea team, I first would like to extend my sincere appreciation to you for your comment as well as your efforts in trying our products and viewing our websites.

Reading your review, I feel quite moved and decided to give this reply to express our gratitude to you. Hopefully this reply can reach you sometime. I can see you must have spent quite a lot of time viewing our product page and the company website. I have to admit that your words are penetrating and fact-revealing, and my colleague and I like it very much.

You have mentioned the functionality of the product SWF to Video Converter Pro, the application and market for such product, the significance of GAOTD, the websites of my company and the development of my company, etc, all of the aspects reflecting your conscientiousness and diligence.

As to the points of the application of SWF2video converter and the significance of GAOTD, I have to say that “what is, is right.” People have such need and then the need derives the market. You are, however, partly right is saying that “more people … want to convert to .flv then from .flv.” This product, SWF to Video Converter Pro, is developed to help those people who have the needs to convert their SWF files for playback on portable terminals. For those who need to convert FLV to video, or the other way around, they can use the FLV to Video Converter, Flash video encoder, etc.

Here, I would like to respond to the points about our company development:

In the first place, I should make clear that companies of each country on the globe enjoy the equal place on the market, and they can offer services of equal value to help people solve problem.

Along with the expansion of the market, our company is growing fast in the recent 5 months. As we described in the Overview of our company, starting from the basic and the fundamental, we are striving to aim at the high. Your criticism on our company introduction on the website is shocking, pragmatic and intriguing. Thank you deeply, indeed. Yes, seemingly, for the time being, our company is relying upon the past accumulation. Yet in fact, we are building a strong development team to expand our business to incorporate the following aspects as our chief business in the short-term: private entertainment, online presentation, e-learning, programming & development, etc.
Half a month ago, the website of http://www.moyea.com is quite different from the present one. That the old version. One month later, you can see that the products and solutions we provide would cover PPT, Flash video, DVD, SDK, and so on.

I must admit that for the time being, we are not a big company. Yet the future development is not to be underestimated, and so is Moyea. I can promise that in the near future, maybe, next year, Moyea will appear to be a prominent player in the field of shareware, and we can offer people around the globe with desirable solutions to their daily needs in work and business, and more.

As a matter of fact, the defects you pointed out in your comment are the problems we are striving to tackle for the time being. This is the transitional period of our company. After this period of time, we can promise that customers around the world will see ideal products and solutions from Moyea Software, and more.

Starting from the basic, we are aiming at the essential.

In conclusion, I must again say thank-you for your pertinent comment, and Moyea is looking forward to cooperating with you and all the customers of multimedia of the world.

Really wanted this app as I've got a lot of use out of the Moyea FLV converter pro offered here before which was a great app. I also couldn't get GAOTD with Firefox for more than 24hrs...switched to IE & no problems!

see sometimes IE *is* worthwhile lol

proxo converts swf to linked file (your choice to play or save).

there are some download filters. but they haven't worked for me.
instead i found a site that prefixes the youtube url, so i made a simple filter that inserts the save-site url on the youtube page. then i click that link.

but i used it only once, because i don't do vid.

and as usual: thanks to those who posted links to alt stuff.

to #14 and others. If you want to download videoes from places like YouTube, just use Firefox and install the plugin videodownloader.
It places a small icon in the right corner and by clicking it it downloads most video files.

but I need to change from AVI to MPEG4

I know there is software free but:
I am not computer literate in this area
can someone please tell me one that will
work? So, when I do it I know the

It took me less then 5 seconds to find an alternative that is free.
By the way, Alex (#11) if it took me no time to find alternatives then why on earth did it take you more hours to find a 15 day trial ware?

So for those that need want to download FLV videos from YouTube
http://uneasysilence.com/archive/2005/12/4843/
or those that want to know how to convert .flv (flash video) to .avi or .mpg
http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/how-to-convert-flv-flash-video-to-avi-or-mpg-t259578.html
If you look around you'll find plenty of software to assist you.

Which makes one wonder what the heck Moyea Flash Video Software is thinking when they are asking 75 USD. Especially seeing as that their solution isn't faster, easier and only can produce a possible higher quality if you dedicate your computer to the task. Do we really have to return to pre-Amiga times when multi-tasking was unheard of?
Plus there is the fact that it is a fringe market. If anything, I bet there are more people that want to convert to .flv then from .flv and even then the market isn't such that it would warrant a 75 USD priceticket.

I know that the companies that take part in GAOTD aren't exactly the biggest players. The big companies don't need to partake because they know that people know them and will find them. They don't need the advertisement nor the feed back on their product. The latter because they know the strenghts and weaknesses of their product. This means that the companies that offer products on here are looking for feedback and for a bigger marketshare by making themselves known. This means that people such as Amadeus (#13) need to wake up and smell the coffee instead of sucking up because they got something for free.

I do tend to get weary if I see a "company" that works so hard to portray itself as a serious business but then ....
1) can't be bothered to tell anything about itself on it's product website
2) that has a main company website, of which the link to is kind of buried (I found it on http://www.flash-video-mx.com/flash_video_purchase.htm)
3) that on it's actual company website uses lots of big phrases and other rethoric but no real info.
http://www.moyea.com/company/about.html
4) that you have to go to the contact page to actually being able to deduce where they are from (and no, I don't have anything against Chineses companies or any other nationality, only have something against posers).
5) which has a forum on it's company site with the grand total of 4 posts on the entire forum for all their products
http://www.moyea.com/forum/
6) who have produced in 3 years time not even half a dozen products
http://www.flash-video-mx.com/flash_video_purchase.htm
7) which have an additional forum on the products website
http://www.flash-video-mx.com/forum/

How many forums do their products need?

Perusing the latter group of forums I must admit that it looks like they do tend to try to reply quickly or at least acknowledge that they know of the problem.

#14- shoulda been here back a ways: Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro and the flv downloader that comes with it. Although that is overkill for most sites not *trying* to hide the video. and won't touch .SWF.

heh, wonder if this new offering has a SWF downloader? happy thought....

http://www.youtube-d.com/ has YouTube Downloader, which suffices for most youtube stuff you find at random. It has some rough edges, especially the need to scroll around to find the buttons and the default location for saves and I've had much better results with mpeg than avi with it. still simple and free.

http://www.vdownloader.es/ has VDownloader 0.51, which has a *lot* more range for an up-n-comer- can search sites, queue downloads, and lists 18 sites it can slurp including 5 adult sites. Both your targets are on that list. free.

YMMV, as with all freeware, especially ones not to 1.01 status, but so far it's delivered well.

(1.0 version programs give me the willies)

The download today sounds handy for certain occasions.

Alas, it'll probably be like the FLV converter package- a week or more until I found a job only it would do. So it'll go into the desktop folder marked "GAOTD tools to try" so when I get frustrated I'll check in there to see if there is the right sized hammer for the problem!

Like #7 I was also looking for a Video to SWF program since I discovered the Wondershare one that was given away here is kind of buggy. I had recently visited the Moyea site, so it was a nice surprise to see todays giveaway by them.

This does the opposite of what I have been doing, Converting large movie type files to compact flash files, so I probably won't have much need of it.
It downloaded and activated ok. Run Activate.exe first and it will automatically register the software, then just run the setup.exe program.

It worked when I converted a 232kb Swf file. It output a 1.43Mb WMV file of equal quality and did it fairly quickly considering I'm on a very slow pc. That's the opposite of what I want for my website stuff, but it DID work.

It automatically updates your flash player during install.

That was something I didn't want it to do since I have a proboards website and it won't show flash files if your player is beyond Flash Player 8 (that's a proboards problem I'm looking into). I would rather it have told me it needed to update my flash player and give me the option not to install the program if I didn't want to change my flash player. It must NEED Flash Player 10 for it to work. When I reinstalled Flash player 8 the program runs the first sections the same as before but when it goes to the screen capture part I got this message: "Cannot make a visible window modal" (You won't get that message since it auto updates your flash player during install).

Overall a decent program, it worked with my SWF to WMV conversion test although I didn't bother to try the others.

A $75 program? I don't think it's worth that much but then I'm a dial-up user and don't download large files from youtube, google video, etc.

Easy to use, worked on what I tested and did what it says it would,
I give it thumbs up for anyone who might have use for this.
I got it for free, I'm not complaining.
Thanks Moyea flash Video Software and the GAOTD team!

#14, use Firefox and do the following:

1. Watch a video from a site and wait for it to finish downloading.
2. Go to "about:cache" in the address bar thing (without the quotation marks).
3. Copy the "Cache directory" into the address bar of an explorer window and browse there.
4. Arrange the files by modification time.
5. Skipping any "_CACHE_" files, check the tool tips of each file, starting from the end, until you see one that's an appropriate size for the video (usually several megabytes).
6. Copy the file wherever you want it, and rename it appropriately, with an 'flv' extension.
7. Just refresh the explorer window (F5) and repeat from step five for each additional video you've watched.

There are easier methods, but with this one you only have to download each video once.

After hours of searching on slow internet i found a 15 day trial which i used to convert some of my files

For me it works fine;

GOOD:
+ No problems during installation;
+ No nags;
+ No penetration to buy a better release;
+ Rather clear and easy to handle interface
+ Produces only few registry settings!!!
(I hate software to produce thoudands of them)
+ good results: it works as it should

LITTE DRAWBACK:
- it works really slow (... but it has do DE-compile the
animation, extract and re-assemble/re-construct all
frames (= pictures) and then convert the results into
the .AVI format.)

MY IDEA:
-> Perhaps it would be faster and smarter to REALLY CAPTURE
the SCREEN OUTPUT and record this as video...?! (there
is some (even free) software for this around.

The only question left: When the hell will I ever need this function...? - SWF is a really good format in the sense of producing very(!) compact files; it uses intelligent compression by just looking for differences...

The program asks before converting some questions about stopping other programs, because when the processor is too busy, the result won't be good. Without stopping other programs working, the result of my converted file is still good and the sound is also good. You can convert to many video-formats. Only problem is, that the to be converted file must be a flash-file: the program would have been far more interesting, if it converted for more formats. So in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 7 points.

Just tried to encode The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. Worked like a charm, output file a bit larger than input, SWF to WMV, no visible loss of frames. It was even good enough for a full screen view.

The only small thing I noticed was a small blur, but that might be because I had many background programs running

My original nine is now a 10+.

ps. encode time was about 30 seconds on a 57 second file.
