I am changing my vote to negative. Sometimes the audio is not in sync with the video. I think video was dropped too, but that could have been the player. The uninstall did not remove everything.
I tried out Super and that has more conversion options and the audio has always been in sync so far.

So glad that it isnt some July 4th scteensaver. We are all tired of the screensavers. Guess I will pass on todays offering, though useful to have I guess. Generally though, I love the free conversion software! Need more conversion software please.

This software will not convert DVD's with copy protection, encryption, or whatever else you want to call it. With that limitation, it's usefulness to the general public is very limited.

I thought the above question on how to activate this give-a-way naive - until I tried to activate it. To register/activate you need to enter an email address and registration code. The usual activation process dose not remove the 30-day trial notation on the software.

If a special process is I needed for activation, please include it in the readme file. It has been done that way before

This is a great program! Although you would have to pay for this without GAOTD, i think it may be faster than super. Also this software is smaller than SUPER too. The gui is better than SUPER too. this can software can convert to other types too like mp3 and mp4 and other stuff

Well it is finally done with my movie and it looks good. I don't have my PMP yet but I played it just fine on the computer. The sound is in sync with the audio and the video quality looks fine. It took a 1.9G DVD file and converted it 327M. I have never used any other program so I don't know if others would be as slow or not. This is a keeper for me.
Thanks Wondershare and GAOTD.

Installed with no problem on Win XP home.
The ipod settings are just pre defined settings to work on the the ipod and iphone. You can set the resolution to work with whatever mp4 device you have not just the iphone.
You can also set the brightness, contrast, fps, and bit rate in addition to cropping out the black bars on top. Although, messing with the brightness settings seemed to add some artifacts to the audio while previewing, almost like an echo, so I reset them back to default before converting. You can also do a couple of effects like emboss and antique.
It also takes snapshots of the frame in jpg or bmp. The jpg I tried looked a little blurry to me though I am not sure if that is the software or the source.
For those having problems with commercial DVDs, rip the DVD to your computer first using something like DVD Shrink or previous GOATD rippers and then load the ripped file into this software.
As other people noted it is slow. The remaining time showing at the start was the same time as the length of the movie I am converting. Since it will be a while I won't be able to comment about the quality of the output tonight.

Very slow, although it does a decent conversion. I had very few problems copying any DVD in my collection, and AnyDVD took care of the rest. Multiple monitor issues. Costly for such a limited program.

iPhone's a piece of junk. iTunes is even worse than that. Don't waste your money on it. Only if something better (not to mention easier) would be offered to work with an iPOD - not that's a million dollar idea!

Regular login suffering censorship problems.

This is OK software. It does a decent job converting the video, and with AnyDVD it ripped all the DVD's that I tried in my collection. It is unusually slow, though.

There are some minor issues with multiple monitor system compatibility, I know what the problem is, if the makers of Wondershare DVD to iPhone want to know what it is, I could share that information for a full license.

I think that many would be willing to pay the asked for price, but there are better programs out there.

This is a fair program. I converted Thomas the Tank engine and Teen Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles put them on my wife's Creative Zen so our grandson could watch while we went on a day trip.

Decent resolution, good soundtrack. I'm sure that we will get good use from this.

There were a couple of issues related to misplaced dialogues on a multiple monitor system, but nothing that interfered with the process. I think the problem is that instead of checking for multiple monitors and centering it on the primary screen, it looks at the desktop and tried to center dialogues on the desktop.

While I believe it will usually only work on self-produced DVD's, I use AnyDVD which removes all copy protection and it allowed me to rip any DVD in my collection that I tried.

It seems a touch slow, I am getting around 1:1 conversion speed. But it does do a very good job and maintains resolution and color detail better than many other programs.

I always believed your claim about ALL programs being 100% adware/spyware/whateverware free. No longer , when I logged my computer on tonite , Dealio toolbar , which came with wirechanger, tried to install another toolbar to my computer. Ilso because since that fateful day , I downloaded wirechanger , if a page didn't connect I got sent to a page McAfee SiteAdvisor popped up as red.
I'm very disappointed in this site & hope to see you remove that claim of 100% clean, or that you make sure in the future it really is clean

So you buy this crappy phone. It has a crappy camera attatched. Now you pay all the access fees and I'll let you and your friends crowd together to squint like heck to watch (what was once) a decent movie for 1-1/2 hours. Yeah, I see this thing selling like hotcakes. If you're foolish enought to pay for a mini-screen, you'd probably buy this too. I'll keep my big screen. Anyone besides me see the Iphone at garage sales soon?

Amelia - Running the activation program (if there is one) or the setup program should show you the code, and you can type it in; If it automatically and immediately tells you the software is activated, then:
If the software is currently running, close it completely (check there are no systray icons for it, close those too), then restart it and it should be activated.
If not, make sure you're running the activation as an administrator; This, sadly, is sometimes required for some programs.

Sorry, I can't be more specific, as I'm not interested in this piece of software (MediaCoder works fine for me).

Well, since I don't need this software or own an iPhone; it's not very useful. I am sure it is for some people, however. So on a scale from 1 to 10, I give this program 8 points.

How about giving software away other than converters tomorrow? ;-)

I wanted to post this yesterday, but the comment receiving system was broken at the time - thankfully, this mostly still applies. By the way, MediaCoder can also do MP4 (iPod), so any video transcoding you want to do, it can do it. Don't believe me? Wonder what other formats it can read/write? Just check the main page.

--- Original comment meant for yesterday:
If you only want to convert FLVs and not SWFs, I strongly suggest you use MediaCoder instead; It can both read and write them, and a large variety of other formats. The documentation's a little lacking on it and the error messages are ultimately vague ("There has been an error!" ... okay, what was the issue?), but it works well. If you need any help with MediaCoder, I can help out.

This is great for a video cell phone. Sour grapes if you don't own one. I got my PPC6700 for free with $70 extra back to me and only pay $27 a month with full service, unlimited internet - 500 minutes anytime - 7PM + free nights and weekends and all the other stuff you get with a phone. Get a SPRINT phone using SERO. Look it up in google. Do the home work and you too can use this program. I have a 4 GB card and can get up to 7 full lenght DVD's and tons of programs on the phone. I also have a sling player and for $30 more I got HDDVD, Digital Cable and Standard Cable plus a live camera shot of my house. Again all for $27 plus about $6.00 tax - 2 year commitment.... and they won't go longer.

This program is NOT just restricted to iPhones - they include that in the title to encourage topical sales with the iPhones release - there is SO much more that this software can do from trimming and cropping DVDs, changing them into different formats that can be played on SO MANY different devices than iPhones and also taking the soundtrack of a DVD and turning it into MP3. Ever loved the title tune of a film but it's not on the soundtrack? Convert that 3 minute section into an MP3 and put onto your MP3 player or WMP!

This has endless uses limited only by your imagination. Don't be put off by the "iPhone" in the title - download it and see what it can do for YOU!!!

limited to such a small share of the gaotd's consumers and very hmmm timely with the iphones arrival. despite apple products popularity many of us have other cellular products with contractual obligations to other service providers rather than at&t. not a very fair offerring...in my humble opinion.
