I thought it was a great program, but it didn't not register right and didn't not load as free - I still have UNREGISTERED across every item I convert and as I know I did it them same day I downloaded it I guess the program doesn't always work right - I guess sometmes they just want your money. Too bad - I thought it looked nice.

I have downloaded foxonic, and after several hours testing, I think foxonic can rank NO.1 in so many image to pdf converter program, especially for batch converting images (jpg, tif, bmp) to pdf, foxonic do the job very well.

I have search the google (image to pdf) and test the first 10 image to pdf converter (freeware and shareware ), but no one can compare with this one, from the operability, user interface and functionality, I tried to convert part of my photos from my digital camera, about 7000 jpg files, 3.5GB, just 5 minutes, foxonic convert 7000 jpg files to 1 pdf file, greate!!! I don't finish this test with other image to pdf converter, because when I convert about 1000 files with other image to pdf converter, I can't wait for so long time when they convert so many jpg files to pdf, so I aborted this test with other image to pdf converter, if you have time, maybe you can do a deep testing.

I also tried the PDF Creator that #24 recommend, but finally, I even aborted the installation process, when I download the 15MB setup file, and install->run, it said 'you should download 'sun java machine (8MB)' and a 'post script driver' first to create PDF file', you know, not every one is a computer professional, I just want to convert image to PDF, but why so many 'first download' then configurations, then you can do the real job , a word, hard to installation and so big thing (15MB setup file + 8MB sun java machine + more), I don't have interesting to go on to try this free ware.

I also tried a lot of PDF printer drivers (free and not free), I agree with opinions of #36 'all the PDF printer drivers can’t do batch converting job well', if you want to do single file to single PDF file converting, ok, a PDF printer drivers is suit for this job, and can do very well, but what about 1000, 10000 or even more, in this case, a PDF printer drivers is not horrible, but VERY horrible, I recommend you'd better backup all your job before using a PDF printer drivers to do this batch converting job (in my testing, using a free PDF printer drivers to converting 7000 jpg to 1 PDF file, cause my system downed because system resource is not enough when converting to the 50%, my system: XP sp2 with 1GB RAM), I also can't finish this test with a PDF printer drivers, someone else can do it.

my opinions is for those who really want to batch converting lots of image to PDF, foxonic is right choice, a fast, powerful (many PDF settings to control the converting process) and neat handy tool for you.

for those who want to convert text/word/any to PDF (not batch converting), and just converting 1 (or several) image to PDF, a PDF printer drivers is suit for you.

But I still think, when converting images to PDF, from the operability of this two type of program (PDF Printer drivers and a stand alone Image to PDF converter), a stand alone image to PDF converter will still win the test.

Nice program. Good for turning scans or other images of pages back into books. I've previously done this on Unix with a script and the various pnm tools, but it's a lot more convenient for me to do it on Windows where the scanner is.

Personally, for a quick and dirty PDF creator, I like PDF 995. You can just "print to PDF" say, from MS Word or Powerpoint and it does a good job of creating a PDF. It does a good job picking up links, but--and they may have fixed this--it didn't make email links live. (We were using it on a company newsletter.)

I think it is easier to put picture into word document or power point (microsoft or open office), then convert it into pdf since you can edit and view the picture before you convert it.

#40, not if you are considering making an illustrated ebook, brochure, catalog, etc!

This installed and registered fine on both my XP and Vista machines. I can see many ways this will be useful! Interesting that its name is so similar to the wonderful freeware FOXIT reader, pdf reader editor, etc. Thanks to Foxit reader, I learned to like pdf files insteead of hate them like I did when I had to put up with Adobe.

Have you heard of Google?

To jimmbo (#40):
My sentiments exactly.

To Robin (#41):
I find it hard to believe you have any image over 2 and a half GB in size. The largest I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot, is maybe around 500 MB. That's not to say there aren't larger, but 2 and a half GB? I won't believe that until I see it. Put up a link to one to prove this.

Way to go Caisdata!!! Just as a test, I copied 181 jpegs averaging 2.7 G each into a combined PDF file. It took less than five minutes and the resulting size was less than 500 MG. The PDF conversion images are OUTSTANDING. Wonderful. Thank you very much, and you to GAOTD for bringing this fine software.

Well, It's pretty good, but it could be replaced with a software that does just the same, that's always free.
Still, it's OK, just not the best.
Most scanners come with programs to scan your pictures to pdf., but I guess not all your pictures come in hard paper format or something.

all the PDF printer drivers can't do batch converting job well, especially if you have a lot of image files (like me 5000+ or more image files) and want convert all these image files into one PDF document, use a PDF printer drivers is horrible. And for multipage tiff image processing, PDF printer drivers can't process the tiff pages freely, I have downloaded and tried the Foxonic, it really can do these job perfectly.
so from the aspect of batch converting image files (TIFF (multipage), jpg, bmp, png and gif) to PDF, Foxonic is really the best one I have been used.
thumb up.

You need OCR (optical character recognition) software to convert an image to editable text. I've used many. Most reliable I've used to convert document scanned as picture is PDF Converter Professional, followed closely by Omnipage, Finereader, and Adobe Acrobat. There are a couple of freebies available to do this, but conversion has not been as accurate in my experience.

This app is not just a simple image to pdf converter - the one feature I like about it very much is that it will make a very nice pdf slide show of images. Really handy if you want to send someone a quick and dirty catalog of images.

In just a couple of minutes I was able to throw together a catalog of 30 images with a title at the top, watermark, and display the photo image name at the bottom, all with nice transitions. Assembling this in Word or another WYSIWYG app could take much longer.

A really handy app for certain situations.

While this software is good for images to pdf conversion it does not include text. For anyone who is looking for a text and that can include images try the freeware program Smartfreepdf which can be found at Softpedia. This program allows you to type or paste in text from any other application and also insert individual jpg images into the document. It can be saved as PDF or in RTF format for Word or Wordpad

Tremendously fast for creating a page of thumbnails of all your photos. Helps sort out the duplicates. PDF's seem to send faster by Email, too. Perhaps someone could explain why?

A bit peculiar insomuch as it doesnt have a file select, instead you seem to have to paste in the destination for it to locate the file(s) but other than that, super smooth and superfast on my xp2 System.

This is a pretty small program so I suggest that anyone with ANY photo's on their system, downloads it, plays with it and THEN decide whether or not to keep it. (Suck it & See)

THAT is, after all, why they are offered on here.

Thanks again GAOTD.

Sorry about my double posting w.r.t. the games. It was nearly five hours into the new giveaway and my first post hadn't appeared, so I assumed it hadn't passed moderation. It appeared just after I'd popsted a shorter version, lol.

As for todays giveaway. I don't understand why developers don't create and sell an all in one PDF to text and text to PDF conveter with an image converter thrown in. I think Expert PDF Pro, a program I bought several months ago comes close with conversion of text to PDF and the ability to convert the other way as well (to word anyway) and that includes text and images. These two bit programs just clutter up the computer and are so limited in their scope they are hardly worh buying. Better to invest in what seems quite expensive at first (around $80), but if you tote up how much each seperate converter would do, it's a bargain. (though I'm sure for those that can't afford to buy software the two bit stuff is the only alternative. :(

Still, if you don't have a converter of this type it's probably going to be a good giveaway. Though personally I don't need it.

I don't compare free alternates to a paid version for free very often but this is one case that I don't see the reason for creating a program like this and charging for it, especially when it is does less than the freeware versions. I have been using PDFCreator for a while now and have never had a problem with it.

http://www.pdfforge.org/products/pdfcreator

It is free, even for commericial use. Any file that can be printed can be converted to pdf, you just print to this driver instead of your printer so it will do images and text.

At first glance you might think there's no need for this program.

I can think of seveal applications where this program can be used, and not just for graphic artists who want to create quick portfolios.

This is one you may pass up quickly if you don't actually download and use the program.

Happy I took the time to do that myself.

I like what Foxonic is doing.

Of course we have PDF printer drivers--I use them almost every single day. In my toolkit are utilities to add watermarks, manipulate image files, burst and concatenate pdf files, etc. This does not mean that Foxonic is not useful.

In one single software, I can do the work of a half-dozen utilities, all because they are put into an integrated package, so I don't have to remember a complicated sequence of multiple operations. It is too early in the day to test Foxonic, but a look at the screenshots andits web site makes me confident this is a thumbs up.

XP/sp3 no problems #9 & #15 did you run the activation first? After installing, I clicked on the Help/then "About" and it shows registration as usual to GAOD with the proper registration numbers listed; I have had no pop ups indicating it is a trial version. You have to run the activation prior to installation. You might have to uninstall and reinstall but this time, click on activation first.

#16 there are settings to set the picture onto the pdf page that it creates; but if you want the picture to be used to be smaller prior to the conversion to pdf, you will have to use a program to resize the picture first. I use two freebies: irfanview or faststone; both are free and both have features that the other doesn't.

Irfanview

Faststone

Can anyone comment on how this handles image resizing? Most digital photos are much larger than what you would want in a PDF slide show. Does it keep the original resolution so that someone could enlarge to 400% and see clear detail (resulting in a large PDF), or does it compress the photos to keep the PDF file size from getting too large?

What are they thinking PDF buster (a GOATD) app will allow access into any PDF. Nothing is safe as they imply. However it installed fine and does exactly as it says. It did take a long time to convert one pic into a PDF and it is a half page - in the middle- and scaled to fit, but that is fine. I was looking to do a batch convert and make a PDF "binder" where it joins a bunch and makes a virtual book. Thanks GOATD a THUMBS UP!

I'm not sure virtual PDF printers can do what this program does. When I select a bunch of image files in Windows Explorer and try to print them out through a PDF printer, the resulting PDF document has only the first image.

As most users say I too use a pdf printer for a long time. Its Adolix PDF Printer provided earlier as a give away.
But this one stands different from most of the PDF printers.
Using PDF Printers one can create a PDF e-Book, but this piece of software will create a PDF Slide-show or presentations or photo albums which is useful for image files. This makes different apart from other PDF Printers. Also the water mark is not present in most of the PDF Printers. So if you are circulating your photos to your pals, you can create a PDF slideshow (with water marks if reqd) and pass it to them. :)
So, I'm gonna get this software, though I may not use it frequently, but for sure I will use sometimes.

Nothing special required for Vista installation, although XP and Vista users who have DEP enabled for everything will need a DEP exception (I forgot to note that Sync Now! also requires one). Relatively clean install.

This does what it says, lots of options for the PDF file, image placement, etc. Designed for batch conversion, image order can be changed. This just puts images into PDF files, it doesn't do OCR.

I can't think of a need for this software. You can DRM-protect image files, but that gives you limited protection. Very few companies scan manuals, most are created via word-processors which can save, directly or indirectly, to PDF, or (better) are created originally in PDF. Text plus images is vastly preferable to scanned pages.

Nifty little program. While most of what it does could be done by other means (but with several steps), this program allows one to perform the conversion through a single interface, with a very, very wide range of options re watermark, picture orientation, password protection, headers & footer, permission levels, etc. Thumbs up.

This is a Good Software for making Photo PDF Albums and sending multiple images in a single PDF file (archiving without compression)..

But it will not be useful if you want to do the text editing.. This software is similar to PDF printer which gives the output to a PDF file instead of printing on the paper. But this software will give pdf files with only images.

Simple interface, but could be laid out better. Finding options are not quite as obvious as it appeared. Interface similar to the old WinRar or WinArc archivers.

Considering there are many printer drivers to print directly to PDF format, and for free, the software really isn't something for many, if not all, people. Advantages are batch conversion, but again, you can print several files (not just images) to PDF.

Licensing scheme is rather complex. Installed without using the activation.exe to see how licensing looks, without the activation.exe from GAOTD, the average user would get annoyed entering all the information. The registration appears to require 10 to 12 pieces of information, that the user needs to enter, to actually complete the registration. Even Windows isn't that harsh.

So, we got all the PDF to whatever programs and now we are getting from whatever to PDF. I personally don't know what use this could be to me, but others may find it useful. There are a lot of alternatives, many which are most likely free and probably less risky than anything from Caisdata Software.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=image+to+pdf

Even if I did need software like today's giveaway, I wouldn't use anything from Caisdata Software for the simple reason that CallingID LinkAdvisor rates their site as high risk because they hide their identity. You may risk checking this program out, but I'm going to pass.
