Hi
I am new to this forum. I wonder if anyone has had the same problem as I have encountered. I have downloaded quite a few different softwares in the past. I downloaded Acropano on May 3rd this year, I was under the assumption that when you downloaded any software it was the full product and not just a trial. I did not get a message with this download telling you how to load and a license number. I have since on a couple of occasions tried to use the software and am told I must either register or buy. I have emailed the contact email twice on this site but not yet had a reply. I have contacted Acropano and told I must buy. They obviously can't help me with the license number and that giveawayoftheday should supply. I have checked the download section on my computer and cannot find an instruction on how to download or a license number. I hope someone might be able to help me please

Oddly I’ve just posted about this (not the software, but the registration process) in answer to someone’s suggestion over on the main giveaway page. There are several ways software is registered here on the giveaway site. You always need to check a couple of things depending upon which method is being used for example a wrapped setup file and a provided registration code, or a dual activation and setup file both of which are wrapped together, or a wrapped setup file where you have to go to the developers site to request a key plus a few other methods. Anyway, once the program has been installed you should always verify that it is registered because doing so on another day after the giveaway has ended only results in a lost opportunity (usually). There are instances where developers have given away registration codes after the giveaway has ended, but generally a giveaway only lasts for 24 hours; once that time has passed you will no longer be able to register the program. Exceptions to this are when virtually all of the giveaway community have had problems. In these instances the giveaway may be re posted another time.
you can usually verify that it's been registered when you receive a registered message after running any activation keys or inputting in a given registration code. If you don't get this message then go to the help button then select about, or registration. that will usually tell you whether your program is registered.
I'm afraid it is too late for that particular software. you'll have to hope that it will be given away sometime in the near future. alternatively you could check out the comments section on the day in question for freeware versions. some giveaway members always post free alternatives (though not always). I hope that this information has been of some help to you.
For further information read the rules and regulations. :)

Many thanks for your reply and for your full explanation. As you say there are several methods for setting up and I have had experience of several of them, I think one of mine you registered but didn't need a license code. It was strange with this one though as it seemed different to all the other downloads as I didn't receive any registration messages. As you say I will probably have to wait until it comes around again I hope. I did have a good read of the regulations as I thought something strange had happened.:)

Yes there are alternatives. You can check the day in question http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/acropano-photo-stitcher-2-1/">HERE.
There was a message from the giveaway team that said the following:
UPDATE: please see James’s comment from AcroPano above. :)
We have contacted the Developer considering registration issue and other errors you face. It seems that they belong to particular configurations of OS on your PC.
The following programs have previously been suggested that do a similar job to Acropano
1. Hugin: http://hugin.sourceforge.net/
2. MS Image Composite Editor: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/groups/ivm/ice/
3. Autostitch: http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
4. PanoTools: http://wiki.panotools.org/There’s also a free version of Autostich which you can find a link to at the bottom of http://cvlab.epfl.ch/~brown/autostitch/autostitch.html">THIS page.
