   When you get the email, the download link for the registration key is the SECOND url in the email.

   Copy the rarreg.key to your C:\program files\winrar folder

   Hey, thanks for the tip k8UndeadFox. I followed your instructions and had no problems installing and activating WinRAR. I have wanted a program that would allow me to create .rar files for a while but was not sure I really wanted to buy WinRAR. So now I do not have to.

   Thanks K8.. I've used WinRar for years. Even though my copy said unregistered, it still kept on running and running without a registration, but this is a newer version. Got the key right away in an email, luckily you told what to do since I can't read it! LOL

    graylox, even tho' you don't get it registered it still might continue to work. My older version (that I replaced with this) was never registered, and I've used it for years and years.

    Just got mine . . . couldn't open the keyfile, moved it to WinRar folder, as directed . . . installed program, said "trial" so I went into the WinRar folder, found the stack of books icon that reads "RareKey WinRar Archieves" . . . clicked on that and now the program IS registered (to the mag)

    This is funny. After downloading the registration for WinRAR, I noticed that the file was a .rar file. When I clicked to unzip it, SecureZip popped up! However, when I went into SecureZip to un zip the .rar file, my PC wouldn't do the job and gave me a warning about the file! So I just deleted the thing. After all, if SecureZip can handle .rar files, then I really see no need in even having WinRAR....registered or not.

    A better alternative (IMO) to file compression is Stuffit available from Smith Micro. It can unzip winrar and many more zipped files. Compression rates are second to none. It's one of the best utilities I've bought in a long while, and I've had winrar for years now. Check it out at:

    Okay, I know it's not free, but sometimes you have to pay for quality software. :) Though if you can't afford to buy stuffit, this offer is brilliant. Thanks K8

    To clarify my above posting....it wasn't SecureZIP that wouldn't unzip the .rar file, it was one of my programs on my PC that protect it that gave me the warning. SecureZIP will unzip .rar files, so I no longer need WinRAR.

    Just wondering...are you still waiting?
    When you register(using the license request link) you will receive an email with a link to download the reg file.

    Winrar is one of my favorite programs.

    Creamy you are right, I needed some beautysleep.
    I'll give it a new try with another email address. But I'm not sure, if I really need it, 7zip served me well all the time.

    Hmmmmm maybe the reg codes are all unique, and it checks to see if it's already been used. In which case I don't have an answer. Unless I send away for another.... now there's an idea, I'll do that calmier. Then let you know on forum that I've got it, but you better be quick downloading it because otherwise someone else will get it first!!

    "If you are testing over the internet, you could try to identify publicly available proxy-servers in specific countries and view the website via these proxy-servers. This would fool the site into thinking the request was originated from the country the proxy server is hosted in. However there are security concerns with using such an approach (you never know who is monitoring these proxy servers)".

    so far I've been told my email was previously used,
    even though I'd never contacted that site until now. :-)

    tried using the proxylord.com a second time with another email
    and it's been accepted.

    Now I had to copy and paste the responses , using google translate, to know that now I'm to wait for the link.
