K8 - you are my favorite fox, undead or otherwise - thank you!!!! And I learned a new trick as well regarding using a proxy-server. My new "best friend" for the day is BabelFish Translation - I grew up in a household where German/Greek were spoken, but the only thing I learned was that when the adults let fly with some mumbo-jumbo, I was in HOT water (and it was time to hide)! Appreciate your hard work on this - and it shows you really can't keep a good "undead"fox down ;). Now here's the funny part: like copmom, I've been using WinRar past its trial expiration date (dl'd it on March 10 and its still ticking). I looked up the version no. and its 3.71! So, I guess I'll wait to see if this one gives up the ghost, in which case I'll have a replacement for it. Question: Why would someone choose to use a .rar file instead of a .zip file? The only reason I use WinRar is for the occasional Poser freebie, which is like one out of every thirty, all others come in .zip format. Just curious....

Nh - the best advice I have for you is...never take MY advice(I'm still just a wanna-be-geek). That being said, use the proxy-server K8 posted, copy and paste the original address into the blank space after URL on their form and hit enter. I had to do it a few times before it would go thru. After that, just fill out the form (first name, last name, and email twice)and hit submit. You can use this URL for a translation: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ You should get an email right away, at least, I did, then click on the second link down, which is where you get the key. Again, use BabelFish to translate the email. I hope this helps.

I made a masterpiece of TUT or something like that, wrote nice words to Nh, that s/he should read K8 advise and as I checked "Send Post" I got a 504. So now everything is too late, but here is my TUT anyhow :

ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO REGISTER 3.62
Just wanted to add that I also noticed that if you install version 3.71 from here
http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar371.exe
and then install version 3.62 from the link K8 posted here WITHOUT uninstalling 3.71
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar362.exe
Then 3.62 will be registered.
Alternatively you can install 3.71 - go to it's programme folder and copy rarreg.key to some other location - uninstall 3.71 then install 3.62 and then copy rarreg.key back to the programme folder to register 3.62
Why the rarreg.key is included in the installation of 3.71 is beyond me as it does not give you the full version for that release!
Anyway in case you want to skip the German site there you go!

LOL - Robert you are correct - I didn't realise that when I opened the rarreg.rar file it was automatically putting the key in the programme folder for WinRAR

I just learned through secunia that this version of winrar has some serious security issues. Suggest to uninstall it.
