1st launch did not register
2nd launch BD with menu does not work properly and Software expired after 1 day!
It works as a media player for MKVs.
This is not the quality Fengtao usually provides.

Don't waste your time and bandwidth downloading this program, it SUCKS!! I grabbed it and installed it earlier today and tried it out, buggy as all get out!! Needless to say, it it now uninstalled. I checked out the VSO Media Player and like it very much, I'd recommend it myself, works very well.

Registration works fine this time. Runs pretty well on Win7x64. Hitting control buttons while running video would cause program to crash on occasion. Otherwise played Blu ray files on computer nicely.

Seems to have online license checker that checks the license
EVERY TIME you start the program. If you deny the
check (the "FABSTREAMER.EXE acting as a
server" and/or from accessing the Internet, or the
program itself from accessing the Internet)
(using a firewall for instance), you will get a
message of either:

"Validity: You have 0 days free trial period,
if you want to continue to use DVDFab Media Player,
we recommend that you buy this software."

or

"Validity: connect to register server failed"

However, if you allow the check, you receive this
instead:

"Version: DVDFab Media Player 1.0.1.5" instead of
an error message...

Is an online license check really necessary EVERY time the program is started?!? Really?

or is there a problem Only with the Windows XP Professional Version of Windows???

Sorry last bit did'nt read right, i don't mean that Windows XP Professional has the Problem, But that DVDFAB Media Player has the problem, conflict? or bug why it's not working on Windows XP or the different versions of Windows XP.

Installed on TWO Computers Both have Windows XP Pro SP3, installs Fine.
Program Runs but soon as i load a DVD or Avi file, error messages pop Up
every time. i forget what the error says, but something about "has encounted a problem" and something about a log file, Sorry but i cannot
remember the error messages as i just can't be Hassled trying to get the software to work, so i uninstalled from both machines.
Pity as i have DvdFab copy software and it works great.

Also i did see 2 or 3 comments about this software not running or playing up on Windows XP last time this media player was offered here last time... But i tried it anyway and NO GO.
So My Question is to Fengtao Software Inc. Will this Media Player work on Machines with Windows XP. or is there a problem Only with the Windows XP Professional Version of Windows???

P.S Both my Machines seem to work ok with other media player software.

I installed this software on 2 separate occasions but it won't launch. Running XP, but get:
CApplication::Create() failed - check log file and that it is writable
but could find no log file. I really would like to use this application, so please help.

Thanks GAOD for all you do, I never fail to recommend you to my friends.

Would not run, just errors Win XP Pro. Dual core 4 gigs of ram.

Uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller Pro twice and reinstalled - same with encountered an errors.

If you install this crapware, you cannot completely uninstall - access denied.

Overpriced software everything they have.

DVD FAB is good software. Particularly liked the DVD FAB Ripper offered here a while back. I registered it properly, yet found the when I tried to use it again, about a week later, that it had reverted to the trial version.

Could not get DVDfab Media player to register on 8/3/12, and plan to give this another try. But they need to get their registration act together.

Not cool so far.

I'd just stick to PotPlayer honestly. I've downloaded some *.wmv video files from Microsoft and tried DVDFab Media Player. I don't exactly recall the full error message, but it complains about "MSS2"; that it won't support this format. I can play them with Windows Media Player, though. Thanks anyway!

Second time tried. Second time failed. Installs okay, but errors when attempting to run a video. Uninstalled for second and last time.

Limiting file access to local drives and the home folder is ridiculous. What about people who store media files on NAS and Network PC's? I know you could map the drives but file navigation is very restricted IMO.

You cannot even drag and drop files on to the player. Sorry thumbs down here.

I've tested this soft last month and I was prepared to buy it, but now I can get it for free :) Thanks for that.
I know there are free alternatives for video playing and converting software, but I personally use this video free converter:

I don't have a bluray drive, but I did try it on a .avi file and it played fine, but the "zoom" functions in the top left of the screen did not function other than maximize, which seemed somewhat useless (to me) anyway since you can double-click the video to maximize it (I've used a lot of video players, that is a common function I like). I can see it being useful for someone who doesn't know about other ways, or just likes to have the button there. [Personal preference speaking, sorry]

There is also a bug with the program, where if you right click the video (I was doing this while fullscreened) and go to audio and click Stereo, the next time I right clicked the video the video feed froze for approximately 5-10 seconds while the audio continued, then the player sped up the video frames until the audio and video were synced again. I tried this multiple times to test it (even if settings were not changing, stereo was my only option on this system) and it happened every time. Nice that it will re-sync itself, but would be better if it didn't freeze in the first place.

I do like the interface of this program a lot, even more while fullscreened, though it was a little confusing in the system settings because selection options have the same animation/effect as text or blank spots. I also feel like the interface was very empty when you first start it up, like there was room for a lot more to go there. I did like that if you move your mouse to the top, right-center, and bottom of the screen you can see different parts of the interface.

If you hovered over the "remote" on the right-center side and moved your mouse away, (at least while I was testing it) the controls did not go away until I clicked the video, unlike the rest of the interface that hides when you move your mouse out of the control area. Not sure if that was a bug or was intended (for the right-center controls).

I do not like that it asked to restart my computer after install, which was not necessary because it ran fine anyway. It shouldn't be messing with system files, so I don't see the need for a restart.

I am not intending to bash this program or the developers, please do not think that. This program has a lot of potential, it just lacks some features I am familiar with and has a few bugs, but it's nothing major. It still runs very well and the video looked nice with very clear audio.

---

A freeware alternative to this program would be VLC Media Player by the VideoLAN team. It supports almost every format you can think of, including Bluray. http://www.videolan.org/

Slower to open a video file than my current Mirillis Splash Lite.
When playing .ts files transferred from my Humax box, DVDFab displays sub-titles and there doesn't appear to be a way to switch them off.
Thanks but I'll stick with Splash Lite.

Fantastic; just lost my SDD to an irrepearable crash at the weekend and lst this software. I wanted it so that I could watch my blue Ray films. Now I can again.

W.r.t. the software, it does what it says it does so thumbs up from me. I would like to see an improved and modern looking GUI, but apart from that the program is fine
