After using it several times, I find Do Your Data Recovery is familiar with Easeus Data Recovery, is it Easeus's sub-brand or rebranded from Easeus company?

Ran the setup, got the web page saying it is 'activated' but CANNOT FIND THE PROGRAM on desktop or in either Program Files folder ... and if I can't find the program to start it, I can't very well register OR use it.

I deleted a PDF, DOC, ODT and JPG to test out the software. I did a Quick Recovery for the first scan. It was quickly done in 3 minutes. One document was found which was the ODT. I recovered it and checked the file and it was just fine. The rest were not found with the Quick Recovery so I have gone ahead with the Advanced Recovery. This has gone since 6:00 and is still going. This is a big job and I completely understand. If this were a real situation, I really wouldn't mind waiting. I've just had it minimized while I'm waiting. BTW, it is now 10:20.

I like being able to look at files during the scanning process. I definitely like the preview option. The PDF file has been found and I looked at the preview and got the warning not to recover while it was in the scanning process. I followed the warning.

I like the directory (which makes a lot of sense) on the left and the breakdown by extension also. A nice summary of what is going on. I like the breakdown. I didn't have any trouble finding either of the two files so far. I treasure be able to sort, a real lifesaver.

Under the percentage, there are 3 icons. When I hover over one of them, I get Details. When I hover over the other two, I don't get anything. I'm sure something might need to be highlighted at this point, but I'm not sure what it would be.

I like the percentage. It's the first thing I look at when checking the finishing rate.

I thought I'd go ahead and post this now and do a reply later to the post when it finished. This is one of those overnight things I would do. :-)

I gave Do Your Data Recovery Pro a Thumbs Up. I like the program and am faithful in the result to come. Thanks DoYourData for the gift. Thanks GOTD for managing all of this. I enjoyed checking it all out.

Which I always question any PROGRAM that needs to be installed to INSTALL ANOTHER PROGRAM. At least it worked for me.

The problem I have with this software is, yes it's a pretty clean interface and all that stuff.

BUT : The results it shows list KNOWN files and the hidden ones marked with a red "D" letter mark beside them. There is NO WAY to select "JUST SHOW DELETED FILES THAT CAN BE RECOVERED". So you are left with a confusing screen showing files you already have and files you might can recover, but no way to simply select "SHOW ME THE FILES THAT HAVE BEEN DELETED".........

This software works, but there are better ones out there. JMO............

1. Installed do your data recovery on Win 10 Pro and registration was easy.
2. Ran the program on a data drive that had been formatted and re-used as a Media Dump.
3. It found thousands of deleted files within 20 minutes which I recoverred a few.

This program is easy to use and I will be keeping it.

Thanks Your Data Recovery and GOTD

Can it be installed on a thumb drive and if so, how does it know which PC it can recover?

Will this program recover data from a drive that cannot be accessed or recognized by the operating system?

Installation warning message - "To prevent further data loss, please don't install on the drive you want to recover data from".

Who know's what drive I need to recover data from in the future.

The warning is for files deleted BEFORE installation of the recovery program. This is to protect deleted sectors from being overwritten by the program as it installs. Once the program has been installed, files on the same drive could be accidently deleted (or intentionally), but since the recovery program is already installed, it won't overwrite the deleted sectors. Therefore, the program can (theoretically at least) recover the lost files.

The program does not work on WinXP:

I installed it in Win10:

Registration:

Program opens with a Wizard:

It is difficult to see which option is chosen

Second step: choose disk

Result 4,626 files found:

Yeah, thanks. The text file at the end was so easy to read. Quality, if I ever saw it. I appreciate your efforts. We all do.

So what makes this software any different than Recuva from Piriform (http://www.piriform.com/recuva). A company out of China with a March 2015 domain creation date worries me a bit. With so many different types of data recovery utilities available (many free), i'l pass on this one GAOTD.

I installed Do Your Data Recovery Pro 3.0 on my laptop with windows 2003, that is not a true server but that I use for my tests.
I know it is no longer supported by MS, but on the home site of this software it says that 2003 is supported.
I cannot start it because it gives me an error, it cannot find "SHCreateItemFromParsingName" in "SHELL32.dll".

I've used more than a few data recovery apps in my day. I'm really liking this one. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Do Your Data Recovery a definite win. It's fast and accurate. It found my entire directory of lost music files I thought were gone forever.

My only suggestion would be is the ability to search for specific file types, such as .mpg or .jpeg. I had to do several scans, and guess as to where these filed would be found. I think it would cut down on scan and recover time.
