I Have only just finished spending the past 2 hours trying to send a E-mail to Support at Audials and don't you know It, I can't find any damned contact info for these buggers..

If oyu have problems or need any help Everything has to be posted on their forum and you must sign up for that.. But I can't find anyway for myself to sign up. the Crash Section and other FAQ sections crash and lead to 404 pages info not found.

This has to be one of the most frustrating and worthless programs i have ever had the displeasure of working with. not only is the company impossible to contact when you have a problem so is finding the online help for trying to fix it yourself.

I recommend people stay away, far, far away from this program & avoid any other items this company produces..

I do not want to deal with or support a company that intentionally Obfuscates the ways for people to contact them when a problem arises.

Bah! what a waste of 3 hours of my time. thanks for nothing but a waste of my time Audials..

To GAOTD thanks for trying to bring us good programs but I think you dropped the ball with this bit of garbage.

To Audials RapidSolution Software go back to the drawing board and get a real E-mail support line for your customers not some dummy forum where it is customers helping customers.

Installation went fine registration went fine or so I thought.

Program wont start. I tried to uninstall it using the Audials Uninstaller but it failed. I was forced to use revo to uninstall this program. Revo found 1073 files left behind when the Audials uninstaller crashed.

I tired to re-install the file once again after installation and the GAOTD Pop Up reporting a successful registration this Audials program once again fails to start it continues to close reporting a error but wont say what that error is and then the program phones home to report the error.

I finally uninstalled the program in complete disgust and deleted the remaining files that revo found.

I decided to treat it as a malicious program because I had to block and deny the phone home program internet access. Audials is currently a Worthless program to me. Why use it if it wont work or only causes crashes & errors. There is nothing good I can say about Audials at this point

I give it a huge thumbs down. I will continue to use Audacity since it's free and probably 10 times better than this bit of broken garbage. At least Audacity works with out crashing on me and I can control it not have it try and control me.

Hi All, Well, I almost missed this! I read all the complaints and started thinking that I don't need this! Then I read a few revues that said its really good! Try it and see! SO I DID! (o;
Downloaded and installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit AMD 6Core Bulldozer 3.4GHz With NO Problems! It did NOT Delete Any of my other Music programs OR Files! It installed relatively Fast as it is a BIG Program but after installing, It registered automatically and was ready to use!
I started scanning some radio stations and recorded a few songs and I was totally Blown Away! Its Easy to use! A little overwhelming at first but within minutes I was recording Music I wanted!, I love the part where it cuts and saves each song auto! and the selection of stations is almost endless! yeah it will take a little time to learn everything about it but I have watched and recorded TV and Radio! with in Minutes of installing and I tend to take awhile reading and going over settings of new software before using them. Most all of it is self explanatory and if you mouse over a selection?, It tells you what it is and what it does! I don't care if its the Standard Version or the Premium Version! I love it! and For FREE!!! I am not complaining at all! LOL! If you missed this and if you are in to building a music Library? You should see what deal you can make to Buy this! It is really a great program! It even lets you burn your selections right to CD\DVD and you don't need to leave the program! I have it running in the background right now while I write this! and I love the station I just pick for now real reason then it said Free Radio Phoenix! I live in Phx! LOL! So that was easy, and it seems to know your location and I now see a lot of local radio stations listed! I have recorded 8 songs while writing this! Have I said this yet? Its A Great Program! (o;
Really! It has So many features, I have not even started to look at everything it can DO! But what I have seen so far, I Love it! I'm so glad for the few users that posted GOOD things about Audials One 10 Standard! Or? I would have let it go by! and never known what I had missed! Thank you!
Yes! You should try it and see if its what your looking for and if it works for you Great! If not? Uninstall it! ITS FREE! For crying out loud! Its a Great chance to test and see what its about and then say yeah or nay! How easy can that be? I'm sure glad I did NOT Listen to some of the horror revues on GOTD today! That's for sure! I am SO Glad I decided to try it out! Even though it was at the last minuet! I am just happy I got it in time for the FREE GOTD! Check this out!
If it quits working in a few months like some have said? Well? I'll beleave that when I see it! After I play with it for a while I may Just buy the full version! Although I have not found anything NOT Working in this Version? every tab I have selected works first time! Right then! and I Haven't run across anything that Is not working? If there are more features to the platinum Version then they must not list them in this version as a (You need to Upgrade!) SO it is NOT Cripple ware! Its just a smaller version, and that is perfectly understandable! Give em a BRAKE! A Play on words and everyone on GOTD whats to lynch them! (Audials) OH!!! LOOK!!!
Thank you Number 81- Iron Tiger, I could NOT have said it Better my self! This IS the Platinum Version! NO Wounder there is SO Much to it! I been trying to find out what is so cheep about this version and was puzzled, As it seems to have everything and More! It was Revues like yours and a few others that led me to beleave that this may just be a GREAT Program! and it IS! Thank You!
Its Still recording my favorite Songs! and editing them as it goes! And I just saw another feature if the software dose not know or can tell where the song starts or ends! It puts a little scissors at the end so you can edit the song yourself! GREAT! Again If you missed this and if your are into Music and TV that you can record and put on CD/DVD to listen two in your car etc! and you did get it today because of all the negative Nay Sayers on GOTD today! Your gonna KICK yourself tomorrow! SO Buy it! It is Well worth the $60.00 dollars or less! Depending on where you get it! All of you that said this is NOT the Platinum Version NEED to READ before you jump all over Audials One 10, And/Or GOTD! Shame on YOU! Bad Revers! Bad! Go ahead and slam me! I got Big Shoulders and I can take it! Any of you that missed out? Sorry! You should learn by now that there is a lot of users of GOTD that Just wake up and go to bed with Sower Grapes! Get a life! and spread some Good news instead of Complaining about things you ether DID NOT READ! Or? Know NOTHING ABOUT! My 2 Friicking Cents!
Thank you! For all you do! For all of us that DO Appreciate You, GOTD! I have Many FREE! Great programs from you over the years and I love everyone of them! and use them all the time! I tell my friends and users that come to me to fix their PCs etc. I advise them of any and all of the software I have be privileged to get and use from GOTD! For FREE!! Thank You! Audials One 10, Thank you for the opportunity to use and try your software for FREE! I WILL spread the word to anyone I know that loves music or TV to record and save! You offer a very Nice Application, I am Privileged to use! Thank You!
For Me? Audials One 10 Platinum and GOTD gets two Thumbs UP!!! and two Tows up as well! LOL (o; Thank you both for another Great Application and the opportunity to use it and keep it For FREE! Thank You!

Well, I looked at GAOTD early today, didn't see many comments/complaints, so I downloaded it.

I was happy to see there's a "portable" USB version, but the "portable" version puts files on the HD, and sets up a start menu! When done, user has to go do an uninstall (they call "cleanup") in order to get rid of the junk installed.

Program uses .Net, and installs it. It also claims to need other drivers/software.

After the "portable" install, I started the program, and searched for some music. I tried three songs, and each one was attempted, then marked "Failed."

I then tried other songs/artists, but neither the "Record" button nor the "Play" button was active!

I got the program mainly in order to find and view movies, but I couldn't even get it to search.

Throughout this, I kept getting crash reports, and errors.

Maybe this is the "standard" edition, maybe it's the Platinum edition.

But as far as I am concerned, just installing and running this bug-ridden program was a trial!

Good luck, getting anyone to pay for this sub-standard failure.

So I downloaded the program, but when running it, it asks for me to enter my “license key” or cancel. I didn’t find anywhere in the install or readme file that says anything about entering a license key or what that key might be. No one from what I’ve read so far, has been asked for a key that they didn’t have? Am I special or am I just suppose to ignore the request and continue using it with out a key?

Audials 10 was a real pain to install, i eventually figured out that you had to uninstall version 9. Once installed, you can't tell if it is registered or not and other than the vague reference to 'standard' version it is impossible to determine what features have been disable. It does work well as a radio player and offers a wide variety of stations. Video was a problem in that it seemed to truncate any videos i found the the web and did not play the videos on my system very well. The price is outlandish as even $47.00 for this type of software is too much, I would think $19.99 - $29.99 would be about right. If you want to download videos try Wondershares AllMyTube at $29.00, a much better deal. As for radios there are many free alternatives.

Installed on XP sp3. Did detect my French OS setup and linguistic support is perfect. I did searches, played radio stations. So far it works like it should. I am satisfied. Like many I do not like external dependencies but .NET is a lesser evil than a bunch of unsigned DLLs.

I'd like to know WHY legitimate questions are being voted down?

I expect that I'll be voted down by the same group for asking (I can't help but suspect the software manufacturer), but voting down questions is stupid, especially since answers could help others use the program, rather than just uninstall it out of hand.

For those morons who say that it states it is the standard version ala: Giveaway of the Day - Audials One 10 Standard, please also read this statement not much further down: The program is available for $59.90 (for Platinum Edition), but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer. if you can read the description of the standard version given it claims to have the features of the Platinum Edition(AKA "You also get the full package of options with videos, movies and online TV."). it doesn't show the price of the standard version as there is no Standard version, if you check the website what you get is the equivalent of audials Lite AKA the free version. this is not a giveaway but a renamed demo and your dam-o right where going to complain as they wasted my time and bandwidth downloading a Demo that claims to be a paid version... GOTD i thank you for all the software you have given and you do great work in advertising good software through word of mouth- through me and others who enjoy your site and from direct advertising by E-mail for "platinum" editions and other software produced by the companies that offer giveaways. this piece of junk does not deserve to be able to spam your inbox or mine, i allow such advertising(and have even made purchases) as thanks for the freebie but this so called "giveaway" is beneath you and not worthy of the advertising space you have given it. and for those complaining about those who complain< first off your a hypocrite, second even though it does state Standard version in the description given there are features listed that are not available. and i will be glad to complain about any bul*ShIte posted by any company... if you claim that your software will give a feature or set of features that's what i expect,, now if they stated that they would waste my time and offer me a hacked up version of there software no better Then the FREE metro app, well then i would truly have no reason to complain.

So i had to go to control panel to set my OLD DEFAULT driver to get sound.

Didn't register. And yes, I know this is the Standard version. I couldn't find information on their site explaining the difference, but every time the program started a nag screen popped up telling me to register and warning me that I was using the demo.

No executable in the start menu folder - I had to open the folder in Windows Explorer and open it there.

More importantly,it froze immediately after opening, every time - the only way to close the program was to end the process. The only thing that seemed to work was the nag screen begging for my money and the "X" to close it. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

@ 56 and those others that tout how great it is to download all this endless music. Granted, we're doing 'free' programs, but that is with license. Downloading music or videos off of youtube or any other site does not make them legally 'yours' to play as it does if you purchase the album/mp3 from a place that sells it legitimately.

(Speaking from the perspective of living in the U.S.A. that is. I know there are some countries that it is legal in, but I don't know many. I believe it's just one or two. And, one way or another, without that pail of worms opened up, I appreciate the artist and like to support them, just as I like to support good software.)

As for the software and the price/cripple ware. This is deceptive and while I appreciate GAotD I am somewhat surprised they accepted this company. Though, there are a lot of people that say they love the software, so maybe that is reason enough to give them a day of advertisement and spotlight. Because, ultimately, since they give this software free on their site, it's all about them getting their 24hours of fame by the GAotD readership which is plenty. (As in, there are a lot of people that come through this site... thus, they get a lot of highlight time.)

I wont waste my time with comments on the software, I somewhat doubt they even come back to look. From the 9 giveaway it seems as if they didn't learn anything about their practices then, therefore they probably aren't going to be fussed with returning to see what was said here either.

Cheers, hope those that install enjoy it, hope those that pass get their own enjoyment and one way or another it's not a waste of time to try something new, it's an experience!

I tried this out the last time around, finding very little that was necessary or of interest. It set perhaps a new benchmark for bloatware, taking up all kinds of hard drive real estate and generally being a drag on the system, especially for things like my file manager. Even when you remove it, it leaves pieces of itself all over, rivaling Norton in that regard. I uninstalled the main install, just leaving the required stub portion for the "portable" version I have on a thumbdrive. (But this stick can *only* be used from that particular computer, which is hardly truly portable. And run that way it is very slow.) Doubt I will even be making much use of that installation.

Over time, I have really lost patience with overgrown behemoths like this, coming to favor alternative apps with a much more modest footprint, that are self-contained and actually portable. I've had good luck in finding quite a few of them.

I have been using this prog for quite sometime. It was quite good. then it stopped working.
I am glad it is offered now. I tested it and recorded some music and it works very well. Disregard negative comments. This is a good program for music search, and to record. I tried to record a video from BBC, but it FAILED. But so did some other streaming video recorders like Jaksta, unless one uses screen capture, which I don't like, as you have to sit through the whole thing until it is finished.

I'll try this again but hope it works better than than the Audials One 9 offered here in August. That worked fine for a month and quit; searching the net I found to delete a database file and restart the program. It then worked until December when it quit again, apparently permanently. No error messages, noting in the events log, it just opens the splash screen for ten seconds then disappears. Messages on Audials public forums have elicited no response (yes, I know we are offered no tech help for these freebies; but a supposedly registered program that suddenly stops working reflects poorly on its developers and certainly doesn't encourage me to purchase anything from them).

#12 The troll seems to be the one ignoring the titled offer, and reading someone from GAOTD's poorly typed "pricing" description. To make an issue out of that it is ridiculous. But I loved the "I saw it on someone's computer and it is awkward" statement. By all means, listen to Doug.

Anyway, as far as the software, yes there are plenty of free alternatives.

Solution to the "missing BaseServices.dll" problem when running StartAudials from USB, after USB-installation:

Make a copy of BaseServices.dll from the USB directory cAudials_10_1_6207_700_portable to the USB root where StartAudials.exe is found.

@ Frank Abraham, post #43: GOATD has very kindly gone to the trouble of providing the comparison chart you're looking for here:

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Comparision_Audials_One_10_EN.pdf

Though as the chart relates principally to non-existent products -- this developer does NOT and NEVER has produced, advertised, or sold a Standard version, a Special Edition version, or a Lite version -- then what good it may do you or anyone else wasting their time on all this clumsy commercial sleight-of-hand escapes me. . .

Didn't like this one bit. Very slow to download and install, takes ages to scan music collections, very slow responce when doing anything. I'm using Win7 64 with quad core AMD 4.2 Ghz and 16Gb ram, so its not my machine - Didn''t like the layout either, in fact there was nothing about this software that would make me want to keep it. Might suit someone else but not for me, thanks anyway.

If this is anything like Audials Radiotracker 8, which I bought, then this is a must-have program, if you want to effortlessly get a bundle of MP3 (or WMA, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV) files downloaded to your hard disk, obtained by recording internet radio stations.

Select a genre and start recording, and in a few hours you'll have a Gigs' worth of individual MP3 songs, separated and with album art. Yeah, there are mistakes, like maybe not album art found, or some song that doesn't belong in that genre, or radio announcers introducing the song, or the song ending too early. But those things don't happen often.

(This post may be totally off base about song recording, because I did not download this for fear that it might adversely affect my purchased copy of Radiotracker 8.)

What I do under the Radio tab of Radiotracker 8 (not sure if or how this translates to today's GAOTD):
One time settings:
- [select what format you want to record to: codec (MP3, WMA, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV) and quality in bitrate (like 192 kbps MP3)
- under Options/Radio and Wishes, select minimum quality of radio streams to record, like 192kbps
- under Options/Convert and Process, select number of simulataneous recordings to process.
- under Options/Output, select the destination on your hard drive where the audio files.

Each time you're recording songs, simply:
- select Genre
- click "Start Recording"

Your songs will be in folders by artist. Enjoy.

They make you think it's the platinum version.

"Price: The program is available for $59.90 (for Platinum Edition), but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer."

"It" seems to reference the Platinum edition not the standard one.

Is this the same one you can download for free off the publisher's site?

Despite playing around with this program many times no matter what they do to it, the program seems to operate buggy and slow and crash sometimes. I don't know if GOTD gets the latest version from developers when it comes to software offering but this particular program is by far polished and needs some work on the interface to be more friendlier to everyone.

Yes it can be made portable. This from the manual.

Audials One USB Version
You can install Audials One to a USB device, e.g. a USB stick, a USB hard disk or a mobile phone. This way, you can take Audials One with you wherever you go.
Audials One USB stores all its working data on that USB device. Simply connect the USB device to any Windows PC, e.g. your friend's computer or your computer at work. Audials One USB starts automatically and works without having to actually install the software on that computer.

Enjoy,
Goldilocks

A couple of days ago, I said that the way to get around the GCD problem was to install in Safe Mode. That does not work with Audials, so I can't see why GOTD offers software that cannot be installed on a simple Win7 computer.

Hey Guys lets do some comparison shopping:
Free is hard to beat!
Prices: I got ver. 9 Platinum from Bits DJ for $29 over a year ago and it works flawlessly on XP Pro SP3. Today the offer above, from GAOTD, the Platinum $59.90 less discount $11.98 = $47.92. Or you can go to Audials website and get the same Platinum for 2 cents cheaper. If you already have ver. 9 Platinum the upgrade to ver. 10 is $39.90 and 10 supports Win8 and has a better GUI and more features. Of course dummies that went for Win8 wouldn't read this far so lets move on.

This is the best media/converter/downloader I have found since Audio Xtract Pro from 321 Studios years ago. Remember them, Hollywood sued them into bankruptcy but they moved off shore and became 123 Studios. I have downloaded over a thousand songs with Audials One using the search feature which works great. You can search by artist, title, genre, and it has a wish list that lurks until it finds what you are looking for. The radio feature enables a favorites list and it can record multiple stations simultaneously.

My advice: Try the free version here and see if it works for you. That's obvious I know, but you might then be able to upgrade to 10 Platinum for less than the advertised $59.90, $79.90, $47.90 depending on where you look. My guess is that it might be $39.90 if you search around. For me 40 bucks for unlimited music is worth it. Still, free even if not platinum, is hard to beat. And for the guy above thinking the GUI is too complicated and can't work it without constantly reading the manual (which have great screenshots and clear directions) get Windows 8, you'll love it!

Feature-limited version,however;still records screen video,etc. There is a feature-set comparison,somewhere,( I think here at GOTD)in a PDF,I just can't find it right now...

It is confusing because the title states it is Standard but if you look at the info box it states
Price: The program is available for $59.90 (for Platinum Edition), but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer.

Program is too expensive. Especially for a 102 Meg program.

This version is missing the Sound Recording capability (required to record from Spotify) - even though the help system implies it should be there.

Well, this program has an option for USB install. Isn't this what all GAOTD users want? Every time there's always someone who suggests an USB install option, now you have it! Everyone give this program a thumbs up!

"@ Blankguy, it says in the description that it’s just the standard version, not platinum". Yes it does, and when you go to their web site there is no mention of the standard version nor how it differs from the version that they are giving away. Why would I care how much a version sells for if it's not the version they are giving away?

I am interested in trying this, but...due to the lack of details in the product description (on their website)...I don't have any incentive to download and install it: I imagine I may go through those motions only to find it lacks features that will satisfy me, and then feel the time spent on this software was wasted.

Yes, it is possible to install this on a USD drive. Not possible to install directly as portable to HD.
