@57 You can always email the notes to yourself. Don't know about you but I have hundreds of notes, so emailing them as a form of backup is not a solution for me.

As Mr. Freebie mentioned, the "Notes" are not backed up on the iPhone. Anyone know of a way to back these up?

This program does a great job of backing up/transferring MEDIA that you have added to your iphone. Unfortunately, there is a program that comes with iPhone called "Notes" that is doesn't back up. I run win 7 64x and it installed easily and quickly. I also liked that you didn't have to email somewhere to get the registration code - it's in the read me file.

It backed up music, images & contacts very quickly. Nice program if you have an iPhone - a keeper for me in spite of a few limitations.

@42 I agree. It always seems that when Aiseesoft offers software on GAOTD the ratings go through the roof. Sorry but Aiseesoft products are good but not good enough that more than triple the votes are recorded. Come on Aiseesoft, if your products are that good let us give the ratings. You don't need to fix the ratings yourself.

Does not work for me: Window 7 Ultimate 32bit, iTunes 10.2.1.1, iPhone 3G, iOS 3.1.3, JailBroken, Unlocked.
Installation and activation appeared successful.
Tried syncing photos: I've 552, this software only sees the first 41. Attempting to sync/backup contacts crashes program.

Yes I know being JailBroken I can just ssh/sftp into it... was considering going "legit"... but this software can't even copy over my photos correctly - missing geotag info.

It doewnloaded fine but it doesn't see my SMS, Contacts or Call list below the Backup Heading. Wish it worked but it doesn't. All it lets me back up is video, pictures and songs.
Not impressed

Well by limiting the software too only working with iPhones cuts off the biggest selling range of smartphones which are the Google Powered Android range of phones.

#46 I agree.

Aiseesoft Studio folk. Please take a look at any worldwide "smartphone" Annual Sales figures by Gartner research (etc) and you'll see that Android smartphone sales are outstripping iPhone by a decent multiple and in 2011 Android will exceed even the Nokia smartphone sales figures to be the market leader of smartphones.

I like this tiny transfer. It can help me perform many tasks which iTunes can do nothing with. This software could transfer my video/audio files, photos, eBooks, voice memos, SMS, call list, contacts, etc. With it, I can conveniently backup all these things and share them with my family and friends.

Agree with comment #33. A shame that Aiseesoft requires today's GOTD to have iTunes installed on your PC. This became apparent only after the software was installed. For me, requiring iTunes on my PC is a deal breaker (even though I own a G2 iPhone).

This sucks. Not everyone has an iphone. Just about as many have android phones. Most programs cover both these days. The move is for all apps to suit all smartphone os.
Going backwards here. There are several ways to transfer from android phone to computer and vice versa wired and wireless. Not quite as comprehensive as this program though.

It does all media transfer tasks seamlessly. I would suggest improving the English translation (when you try to change the directory for backups, it should say "a failure" instead of "failed")
It also lacks an export to different folders depending on media type, not just artist, album or genre (which is nice, but not all songs have metadata).
It has a nice UI, although it contains only one theme (elegance).
Isn't quite the iTunes replacement, but you can't get mad at them for that because Apple has certain copyrights and restrictions for their software (syncing apps, restoring and upgrading firmware, to name a few). It is great if you just happened to delete some of your songs on iTunes or you got one from another computer that you want to copy over.

Wow! Close to 2,000 "thumbs up" at the time I downloaded the app. Never saw that result for any free offer on GAOTD.

No problem downloading and installing on Win XP SP3 and Vista. I tried several PCs with XP and only one gave an odd popup window warning about not being able to connect to iTunes (?). The warning added that I should start iTunes, connect the Apple device (iPod, iPad, or iPhone) to see if iTunes detects the device. If so, close iTunes and then re-open the Aiseesoft application. Unfortunately i do not have any Apple products supported by the application but I may purchase one soon.

Mike @ 37 - Just to let you know that I used Aiseesoft to convert maybe close to 1,000 video files, HD and SD (large and small), and very satisfied with the results. I know you won't believe me I'm neither its developer or employee. Did you even try it before making the comment?

I like the other mike's post much better.

I'd like to complaint about the bad behavior in the user rating when this softerhouse offers its products: Aiseesoft joins higher rates to be true. Here's a list of the last offers by Aieesoft and their score:
Aiseesoft Total Video Converter: 1879 (88%)
Aiseesoft Blu-ray Ripper: 1973 (88%)
Aiseesoft Streaming Video Recorder: 2531 (88%)
Aiseesoft MP4 Converter Suite: 1814 (85%)
Aiseesoft Total Media Converter: 1652 (87%)
Aiseesoft Blu-ray Ripper: 1982 (89%)
Aiseesoft DVD Ripper: 2496 (86%)
Normally, adding daily Up and Downs rates, you can reach a total of 5-700 points...

If you are using Windows os, connect whatever Apple device to pc. Find "Show Hidden Files", Find your product, click on one thing, ctrl+a, ctrl+c, open where you want the files, click anywhere, ctrl+v. This will select all, copy, and paste where you want.

However, if you like it easy, this seems to work well on most things.

As has been said already, there are many free alternatives available that do the same thing and more than what this program does.

So part of the decision about downloading it comes down to whether or not the developer is trustworthy. To answer that look at what happens EVERY time Aiseesoft makes a program available. The thumbs up votes in the User Rating goes over twice as high as ANY other program that gets offered here and the large number of poorly written comments praising the program that are obviously written by the developer or it's employees.

Everyone should treat comments today praising this program the same way spam in your inbox is treated. Unless of course the comment comes from one of the users that has over time developed a hard earned reputation for writing good reviews and comments.

As for me, I wouldn't even consider downloading anything from Aiseesoft.

DRM is used to protect mediacontent against piracy. But DRM also overprotects mediacontent you already legally bought against making a safety copy. DRM protects the sellers at expense of the owners.

In case of DVD's, copies of DRM protected disks can be made by playing the very DVD and recording the played outputstream. Ofcource you need the right to play to do that. The copy you get is not a direct digital copy but an indirect recompiled digital copy and some quallity will get lost (this would NOT be the case with a direct 1 to 1 copy).

I do not use Apple devices, but CBiggerstaff, #29 (I will trust his word for this) describes the loss of EXIF-data as a result of making a copy with Aiseesoft iP2PC software. This could be due to the same mechanism as described with the DRM-protected DVD that had to be played in order to make a copy. It at least proves a direct 1 to 1 copy is not involved (missing EXIF data).

Apple doesn't want you to make a copy from within iTunes to your PC, not even while you rightfully own the mediacontent that you put there.
Zephyrdell, #23 would make copies before puting something on an Apple device. Nice ofcource, but if you only have the samples on your Apple device you normally cannot copy them back to your pc unless you use some tool like iP2PC, thus losing quallity by recording the played outputstream.

You will be glad you can copy now (good thing that iP2PC and alikes exist) ofcourse even when you do loose quality by recompiling and compressing your jpg-pictures (suppose you have to install iTunes with content on a different PC because your old one has to be replaced causing you to loose your collection), but this does show the limitations of this kind of software workinig around mediacontent protections, also showing how this kind of protection does not favor you.

Installs and works fine for me (WinXP SP3, iPod Touch 4G). Succesfully transfers Contacts, photos, movies, music, iBooks. Interface looks good. I can always use another convenient backup tool in place of the annoying iTunes.

Aiseesoft should make it clear that, like all other iThing backup tools, it requires iTunes to be installed on your system in order use the interface components provided by Apple.

I am with #23 on this. The site says that it works well with the iPad. It does. However, it brings nothing new to the table. It you use iTunes and keep your hard drive backed up, this software becomes unnecessarily redundant.

Also be aware that the GOTD software is not upgradable for free. That means that when the iOS software from Apple changes, this software will probably be rendered useless for backup OR restore... Unless you pay for the upgrade.

Don't have any Apple products so no idea how well Aiseesoft iPhone To Computer Transfer works [or doesn't], but I did run a monitored install in case that info helps anyone -- I had a handful of apps that I wanted to monitor setup with, so I just included today's GOTD too. [Note: please don't take that 1st sentence to mean I like or dislike anything Apple -- I'm totally brand, version, & product agnostic, & as always don't wish to give any fanboys the slightest excuse to hijaak/sidetrack any discussion. Thanks.]

Aiseesoft's iPhone To Computer Transfer is similar to most of the current crop of video converters that show up here on GOTD... It uses the QT coding language as possible, which increases speed when handling video. It also uses the free ffmpeg code libraries [my guess would be portions of the app's code & files are shared with other products like their various converters, which could account for some of the more converter oriented files]. Running the app without iTunes installed brings up a warning dialog: "Could not connect to iTunes, which cause that iPhone/iTouch/iPad could not be recognized but iPod could be...". Options include: Export to PC, Export to iTunes, Export iPhones, & Backup iPhones -- you also get a preview window/player.

Setup adds the program's folder, taking up ~55 MB with 61 files, 6 folders -- note that if storage space is at a premium, the PortableApps.com App Compactor brought that down to ~34 MB, though I could not test afterward, & I didn't try every option. I also got an empty folder under All Users App/Application Data. Registry adds/changes weren't bad at all -- there were 118 adds, 16 changes recorded, the vast majority divided between the uninstall key, the app's key, & HKCU\ Software\ Trolltech\ [that last is cache related keys/values for the QT coding]. Rather than bulk up the install & multiply its impact, Microsoft C++ runtimes are included in the program's folder, & they're not registered with Windows so ~0 risks.

Very nice program. If you, like me, wondered why you might want this since iTunes backs up anyhow, it's because this allows you to pick exactly what to backup and therefore it can backup very quickly. I backed up my contacts in seconds and it allowed me to pick where to back up to and it even put the data in a folder with the date. I then looked at some photos and checked the ones I wanted to transfer as it provides a thumbnail view of them - that went very fast as well.
I found a few minor issues, that you might want to know about, first it doesn't seem to transfer the EXIF data with the photos not any EXIF data not even the date taken let alone the gps geotagged coordinates. That's really disappointing. Also it doesn't show the book I'm currently reading as a backup option in the iBooks category - I reckon this is because I added the book from the web versus downloading via iTunes. It also doesn't show any of my Kindle or Stanza books for backing up. So the program definitely will not backup ALL the data on your iPhone. Still a nice fast tool for what it does backup. If having to pay for this program I would hope to see this Ultimate version supporting those features I've found lacking in a few minutes of testing.

So, within three minutes of today's giveaway being posted up, you'd downloaded it, installed and registered it, tested it on "some large video files", done an Internet search for alternatives, and found another which you were able to assess as "the best choice" for you (implying you'd tested at least two others). That's very impressive.

Yes. Right.

After I read all about this software, I was wondering what it could do for me and my Ipod Touch 4th Generation with the 4.3 software that I haven't done already since first purchasing my Ipod. So I decided to download and give it a try. I had no problems with the download or installation using xpsp3. I disconnected my Ipod naturally prior to installing and I did not have ITunes up and running either. As to #8 above, I disabled ITunes from automatically being pulled up by using my Glary Utilities and disabling everything to do with Itunes and Quick Time. After the installation, I pulled up the program registered it and connected my Ipod. It showed me everything I have on it. Since my computer already has everything on it in My Documents via ITunes, I changed the file location to my portable hard drive and browsed through what it listed that could be transferred. After viewing the list, I wondered why I need this program because everything it shows, I have already (through ITunes) have backup to my portable harddrive. Even the Cameroll feature can be backed up to computer upon first plugging in the Ipod Windows window pulls up wherein you can go into the device via the computer like anything else and take the pictures off, etc. All my music is already available to me especially since I put them there in the first place (including my purchase of Carrie Underwood) so naturally I already have copies. My movies that I purchased from ITunes, again, I made copies without this software using Windows features. As far as the ringtones go, again I used software to create them so again I have copies prior to putting them into the Ipod. I will probably keep this for awhile to see what it can do for me that I have not already accomplished with software that I already have. But for me, I can't see why I need to take up space on my computer with this software. I will say, it does make it easier than what I have done in the past. But keep in mind, it only takes from the Ipod to computer, it does not take from computer to Ipod. So if you put things onto the Ipod, you should already have the file on your computer via the software you used to put them onto your Ipod. So I believe this software is really only for IPhone users and since I do not have an Iphone, I can't state otherwise.
I hope I have made sense. Thank you GAOD especially for IPhone users.
I will tell my daughters about this.

Installed/registered easily XP3.
I must be missing something here. It will transfer music and pix, etc from my iTouch to my hard drive. iTunes will do that. I cannot upload unless I missed a way to do that. I see folders for contacts, etc but I do not see how to transfer these in EITHER direction.

It basically looks like a one-way device to rip an iXdevice. Back up is no good w/o restore.

Great program, works extremely well. I installed it on a 64 bit win 7 system.

The only thing I don't like is when it is first connected, the software starts up and does the data sync. Unfortunately, once it starts there isn't any way to cancel it.

I don't have an iPhone, but for 18 months have made great use of my 32 Gig iTouch.

Since upgrading to OS4, many of the contacts, photos, voice memo's, and files created by various apps, have not been accessible.

I know they have been backed up somewhere, but this software installed without a glitch on Windows 7 64 bit and they were instantly found and transferred to my PC, to My Documents, and in their respective folders.

Best bit of software here for a long time. Extremely useful, and in case anybody was wondering it works seamlessly with the iTouch as well as the iPhone.

It's just a pitty that iPhone and related Apple-products are much to retrictive in using them in a 'normal' way, like non-iPhone-like products.

Normally a general mass-storage-driver suffices, only not with Apple.
That is exactly the reason why I steer far from Apple products, even though they look great. I want to use a product I bought and not only look at it. Apple wants too much control things.

That is why Aiseesoft iPhone2PC is a great product. It gives you back the possibilities you ought to have in the first place without this app. An app. like this should not have been necessary in the first place, but because there is Apple this 'need' exists. I'm happy for the needing people.

Happily not owing any Apple products, I don't need the giveaway from today.

I've had some minor issues with this program already. I believe it must be explained(which I haven't seen in any of the documentation) that you've got to make sure iTunes isn't set to automatically open when you connect your iPod, as this will supersede using the program(not sure if this also applies to the iPhone as well). Also it would be nice if you would have supported backing up your iPod contacts(last year someone who shall remain nameless here massively infected my desktop and some of my contacts are only on my iPod, I haven't taken the time to manually put them back onto my computer as it would be rather time consuming), not just iPhone contacts. It is a good program however and does still allow me to backup my iPod Movies, TV Shows, Music (etc.) to a folder if needed. Thanks Aiseesoft and GOTD. It still did help with my being able to make sure all my library can be on all my computers.

I have downloaded and tried this iPhone to Computer Transfer Ultimate, which really impresses me. It can help me backup my iPhone SMS, call
list and contacts. Moreover, I can delete messages from the backup files. With it, I no longer worry about missing important messages and
contacts.

Stuff the overpriced iPhone!

How about offering something that can be used by regular people too (the ones without an iPhone)?

We haven't been all brainwashed, you know? ;)
