I installed and registered this yesterday on Vista Home Prem., X64 Gateway laptop with a T5750 CPU. I tried using it yesterday, and the program was Super Slow and was causing my dvdplayer on my laptop to run erradically. I Stopped Aiseesoft DVD Copy 5.0 and used my old trusty Transcoder ... back-up done in 5 minutes and perfect And no erradic activity with my laptop dvd palyer.

I uninstalled the Aiseesoft proggie!

TM (post 15), Has anyone else noticed this giveaway putting an unusual number of files into the folder ?

Bill (post 18), I think you are incorrect. Their software has confusing (similar) names, so you probably were not viewing the Free version.

Dr Ken (post 22), Do you have a link to Giovanni's web site ?

Giovanni, Do you have an English web site, as I would be keen to visit it.

Admittedly, the DVD ripping market is flush with great products. I have their Blu-ray ripper and it is HANDS DOWN the Best!!! I got it from GAOTH before I had a blue ray player (I still don't = Convert and stream)
I have tried others, but the the speed and quality are 2nd to none.

The following remarks are presented after several unsuccessul attempts to use today’s GAOTD do copy two genuine DVD disc with files protected with a system making vob files invisible to Windows Explorer. The software does not see (and thus, is incapable to process) any discs protected with the aforementioned system the name of which is not known to me. Never have I encountered such a strange behaviour of a piece of software. Maybe someone else will be able to explain the phenomenon. It is still stranger that all computer and standalone players play the movie without any problems and other DVD copying software process the discs correctly.

This comment adds to previous remarks by other users, that the software provider seems to be quite tacit about what protection systems is its software capable to use and process.

Please note, that copying protected discs by their owners for their own non-commercial use is legal under the International Copyrights Convention of Vienna and thus, is admitted in most EU countries. US may have different policies as they signed and ratified the Convention with such a large number of exceptions that make the application of the Convention in the US actually "virtual".
Best regards

No complaints about Aiseesoft products from me and I don't understand most of the ones that are being made. This is a nice, easy to use program. It installed and registered fine and like the other Aiseesoft programs we've been offered it does what it says. The interface is simple and understandable. I only wish there were some skins available or at least DIY instructions, not a deal-breaker, but it would be nice. This one's a keeper. Thanks GOTD.

I think like Giovanni : " because it’s simply not possible that such high ratings always occur in a few minutes time".
I'm French and don't master English language but after having read a few comments (Ashraf excluded, of course), I understood that some were fakes.

It's also true on the French site of GOTD: the comment N°2 seems to be a fake too. Even if the text is written in a bad French, the terms are too laudatory, then, I think suspicious.

After reading some of the other reviews seeing the fake awards posted on the developer's site I wouldn't trust anything from a developer that has to lie in order to get people to buy their products that's like a car dealer telling the Mini only looks like a Mini but is really a Rolls Royce. Won't be downloading from this developer, who knows what they might put on your machine. Its all about trust!

For converting to iso's, does a good job. It's slower than imgburn as it file copies first to a temp directory, then converts but it's a bit safer too.

Installed successfully on my PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, HP AMD Athlon-II X4. After the registration, when it loaded, selection of DVD drive for "Source", keeps giving "Loading DVD failed" error.

Any one had this error?

Can someone from the Aiseesoft support answer this and how to fix the same? Any help is appreciated

@ #17 Im.. That's not always the case though.

For instance Process Lasso (a former hot giveaway) updates itself automatically every 2-3 weeks, and they too advertise no updates. Its just that it only stays registered if you allow it to 'auto-update'. If you update it manually, you will invalidate your registration. So one can't always know what the developer may have in mind with updates. It IS a gamble though.

As for this package from Aiseesoft, I'm not much of a movie buff. But does anyone know if this will copy backups for DVD Video Games, such as the PS2 or PS3? Or if not, is there anything available that can?

I simply need to backup my most favored older sports games. There should be a way to do that by now. Its just plain silly to not have any backups when you can't even buy new ones anymore. And once purchased, you own license to the material. You shouldn't have to buy brand new copies anyway.

Giovanni - Some really huge leaps of logic you take. You make some quite libelous statements and claims, and I wonder if an Aieseesoft competitor paid you to come on here and make those outlandish and unsubstantiated claims? I challenge you to back them up:

"They probably use several employees/buddies or more likely different proxies to manipulate the GAOTD USER RATING system". What proof do you offer? Since anyone can get on and vote numerous times, that is quite a leap of logic to suggest that the company is the culprit. By your same faulty logic, the company is also giving itself numerous negatives since so many appears within moments of the product being offered. Wow, that is some logic!

"And in this case it looks like they have even published fake site awards on their homepage..." Well, I went to their homepage and didn't see any fake site awards. Again, what proof do you have for such a libelous statement? What fake awards - specifically - are you citing?

I think it is quite unfortunate that you cheapen your own comments about the product when you use such unfounded statements without offering any proof whatsoever. How would you feel if I said here that I went to your site, viewed some of your reviews and found them to be totally off the mark in my opinion and thus it appears that you are being paid by some publishers to give favorable reviews of their products and negative views of their competitors' products?

I used to read your comments and put some weight into them, even visiting your website to get your "final verdict" (a cheap way to drive viewers to your site just to beef up your advertising revenue) but that was back when I thought you were offering unbiased reviews. I no longer feel that way, and suspect you have some hidden motives in your comments here on GOTD.

What's with all the people making statements about FAKE award sites? CNET, TUCOWS, SOFTONIC, BROTHERSOFT. Are you kidding? Everyone knows these. Never heard of Downloadatoz though.
Or are people suggesting that the awards are fake, not the sites?

No problems downloading/activating. (Win7x64) Still don't know what others are complaining about. No "fake" awards that I could find. Don't remember any spam from them either..... but if thats what you're worried about.... just use a throwaway account for registering. I have one account thats for nothing ELSE but these types of registration.
Anyway, just finished ripping a DVD and while its no speed demon, about 20/25 minutes for a 2 hour movie, its not exactly slow either. The picture quality was excellent as was the audio. I really LIKED the G.U.I., crisp, clean and functional.Kudos to Aiseesoft for design if nothing else. I'll be keeping this one and truthfully, I didn't think I would. (see my earlier comments #12) Very pleasurably surprised by this. The only complaint I have, and its a quibble,is I'd like a 64bit version. In this day and age its almost "quaint" to see 32bit as the only option.
Want to thank both GAOTD and the developers for this very usable piece of software.

When I registered, it asked for an e-mail address, not a user name, but it did take the provided registration code. The layout is clean and simple, and obviously geared towards what it is intended to do. That, to me, is a big plus. I hate wading through obscure menus and commands to do what should be a straightforward task. Aiseesoft has this right. Regarding # 5, the awards are not fake awards, but they are not industry awards either; rather, they are awards from shareware sites (Tucows, Brothersoft, C/Net etc.). And while they may not be awards from the industry, they still carry merit. If you need a program like this, go for it! Definitely a thumbs up!

Just had a look at Ashraf's recommended alternative and it has changed since his review in December 2012 insofar as it is now shareware and only works for 30 days before requiring payment. Wasn't that keen on running RegOperator.exe after installation either. to be fair to DVDFAB they do state on the website all their software is eval for 30 days then requires payment.

Sorry, forgot to add that aiseesoft software comes with the pre-checked box "Check for updates". So,if you are downloading and installing anything from this developer, make sure you uncheck that box, otherwise the program will get unregistered after several weeks or months and you are gonna lose it. I do not like tricksters.

+ Copied a film no other copiers (free ones or some paid for) seem to be able to copy
+ Simple enough to use.

- Couldn't find out how to put the subtitles on the film
- Put 101 files into the folder rather than just 1 but as it's a personal copy just so I don't have to keep switching disks I don't really mind.

Aiseesoft products are nearly always good, but once again as occurred for any other software coming from this company, this GAOTD got a whopping 75% THUMBS UP in a blink of an eye, which seems to me very suspicious. They probably use several employees/buddies or more likely different proxies to manipulate the GAOTD USER RATING system, because it's simply not possible that such high ratings always occur in a few minutes time after any GAOTD of theirs have been published here.

And in this case it looks like they have even published fake site awards on their homepage, but for sure any Aiseesoft employee will ever take the trouble to answer our/my remarks....

This bad behaviour is absolutely NOT necessary, since most of their products are definitely worth downloading.

As for today's giveaway it seems to me that this DVD ripper does its job pretty flawlessly, namely copy DVDs and store them in loseless DVD format (DVD folder or ISO).

It can copy full DVD or just the main movie without damn annoying ads, trailers etc..., as well as specific DVD titles and chapters with ease!!

Full online tutorial:
http://www.aiseesoft.com/how-to-copy-dvd.html

I used this tool to copy a DVD of mine and it was able to bypass the DRM protection...

But as Ashraf rightly pointed it out, it's not clear which kind of DRM protections this software can bypass.

So it would have been better to specify this kind of info in the homepage, rather than publishing fake site awards....LOL!!!

So my suggestion is to grab it and test it...and if it's not able to bypass a certain stubborn DRM protection, well you can switch to FREE alternatives like the following ones:

http://www.dvdfab.com/hd-decrypter.htm
http://www.bluraytoavi.com/dvd-decrypter.html
http://www.gilisoft.com/product-dvd-ripper-free.htm
http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper
http://www.imacsoft.com/free-dvd-ripper.html

To convert your ripped DVD to any other format you like:

http://www.videotovideo.org
http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Multimedia/Video/Portable-XMedia-Recode.shtml
http://www.cuda-soft.com/video-converter/index.htm

2 THUMBS UP to the product and 2 THUMBS DOWN to the policy & misleading behaviour of this company!!

Cheers.

Well, I went to their homepage and could find no "fake" awards. All awards listed are from reputable sites and from Cnet. Who I'm not sure fits into the reputable column anymore. Remember trying an older copy of this software and being .....meh..... . Nothing outstanding but nothing terrible either. I'll be giving this a try and will report back later on. Don't really NEED this, as I have three others of the same class/family already on my machine.I don't watch OR copy many movies anymore but all my movies ARE on Hdds now. Due to my work (see username) I can't really carry around 2 or 3 hundred DVD's so these kind of programs are a MUST with me.

Sorry Toni A, I have no idea what you are talking about. What fake awards on the homepage?
We have been getting software from Aiseesoft here for a long time, and have never had an issue with it, and the award medallions on the homepage are from reputable websites.
Can you point out what "fake" awards you are talking about? I looked at 3 of the 5 sites listed and the software is available to download at them, are you saying they allow you to download bad software on their sites?
I didn't look at tucows or cnet, not necessary since everyone has heard of them.

Download, install and register smoothly on my laptop win 7.
Load one of my newly purchased DVD movies "Brave" easily and fast. To save time I choose the "Main Movie" mode to copy my DVD movie to my hard drive to create a DVD folder. It is easy to use because I can use it without any difficulty and I am the first time to use this kind of software. Now my computer is working to do the copy and I just post this to thank GOTD and Aiseesoft to provide us such as nice software. Good Job!

I will post another one after I finished my test and share with you guys.
