Mr. Gorman, I got the email your last question and replied to it in my usual way, the Reply function - which sends an e-mail to what you have set as your "Reply-to" address. That address is the same one that you suggest: wwgorman@msn.com. The subject was "Zoner Software Product Support Form". But that's just for future reference, since I will cite my email here:
"Yes, for buying from inside the program, you must use PayPal. We go through PayPal for in-program purchases, because by letting a payments specialist handle payments, we can focus on developing software. If we could, we'd use Cleverbridge, who handles our web purchases, to do in-program purchases too. But they can't help with that, so we do that through PayPal.
The solution is simple: buy via the Zoner website. It sounds like you'd like the Household Extension. Here's a direct link to that:

Hello! hank you for reading my messages. I DO NOT use a spam filter! I have not received any messages that I can identify that came from you. How are you identified?
For protection against lost emails on my large "laptop" that I use as a desktop I use Outlook as my main email client and Thunderbird as my back up. I do not delete mail from Thunderbird for the purpose of review.
Please send again to wwgorman@msn.com [Note no periods in my email address and just TWO w's----not 3 w's]
Thank you.

One very, very final note - if you weren't able to install during the Giveaway, don't worry! Please contact us at support during the next few days, and we will get you set up just like you'd made it during the Giveaway.
And one last extended hand: Just in case we somehow aren't able to reach you by email at all, Mr. Gorman, here is what you need to do:
- Use "License..." in Zoner Photo Studio's "Help" menu,
- Enter your code in the top half of the window,
- Ignore the bottom half of the window,
- Click OK.
When you enter your code and click OK, the edition for that code, for example the Pro Edition here, is activated automatically.
*Until* you enter your code *and click OK,* the license picker in the bottom half doesn't list the edition activated by that code.

Hello again,
Here are some wrap-up answers for you all! I noticed some older questions that I missed earlier - I'm sorry to only be getting to you now.
IRL Joanie (67): Again, please write to our "support@" address (maybe you have already done so). I'm doing support as well right now, so you'll get me personally.
William Gorman (69): I sent replies to two emails from you, so if they haven't reached you, please check the Spam inbox in your email program or service - maybe they were wrongly sorted into there.
Kelly (70): I'm not totally sure how you open a GCD file, but I do know we don't handle that format, as it's not a photo-related format. I googled it shortly and it seems to be a CAD format (a technical drawing format), so I think you should try a CAD program. Seems like they come from a program named "Generic CADD."
Antonyo (91): You can't cut a selection in Zoner Photo Studio, but you can copy and paste it. Use Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste for that. Note that the selection also sets which parts of the pictures you can change, so be sure to cancel the selection before pasting. Although the Editor is more focused on retouching than on drawing (thus e.g. no Cut command), there are a few things in that direction, such as the Paintbrush and, in the Pro Edition, the Eraser.
Fran (93): To change the size of the envelope so you can fit your whole image inside it, use the "Scale" slider in the Envelopes window.
I'll break my promise a little not to respond to praise - thanks to everyone for their kind words about the software and my "stay" on here. Keep on enjoying Giveaway of the Day!

If you are still listening two days later I still have the problem posed in Question #38. I have written to Tech Support 3 times WITHOUT AN ANSWER. I have written to Cleverbridge but they refuse to contact tech support on my behalf.
Again, the problem is that I ordered the PRO version but after I insert the license code and then go to Select Version I have only 3 choices: Trial, Free and Home. There is no PRO listing.
WHY DOESN'T TECH SUPPORT ANSWER. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND AM THINKING OF CANCELING MY ORDER!

Hi again, my WORKAROUND when installing Zoner Photo Studio 15-Envelopes and Templates (zps15_en_templates.exe) -
First of all please look up my Comment of yesterday (61, fran) - should you want to take advantage of this particular additional Free extra (after visiting http://www.zoner.com/en/download )
This standalone extra (36.4 MB in size) containing 15 color Frames and adding Folder "2" to Envelopes in the main Program - couldn't find a Path to install itself because...
..it tries to install itself into it's own default path - (in my case) C:/Program Files/Zoner/Photo Studio 15, and such Path DOESN'T exist!! Bingo!
Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME installs itself into a Folder called "Photo Studio 15"
SO - created Folder called "Zoner" in my Program Files, dragged "Photo Studio 15" File into it and only THEN it worked like it should!:)
Envelopes can be found in Editor of this Program once in it.
This is my Workaround, and btw thanks Zoner Software Customer Support for trying to address my Issue in Comment 79.
Having said all that - I totally leave my opinion about these color Frames to individual taste. I personally.. would use only very few of them, sorry, and didn't figure out (yet, if at all?) how to fit the whole Image into them:( But - at least I didn't leave my main issue here unresolved. Hope it helped someone.

Can I ask, please...why when I select an image area with Magic Wand tool, there's nothing I can seem to do with that area? Ohhh...I've looked at most normal places, for Cut/Crop/.... None to be found! A BIG part of my image-editing needs, which I use Paint.net or PagePlus for, now. Can you clarify that, please, Signore Zoner? Thanks! A deal-killer, if I remain corn-fused here. Very responsive, well-ladden GUI, otherwise.

@zoner (#88), finally, but thanks of course. I'm glad you answered my question.
This means to cut it short that the home version compared to the free version only differs in being able (home) to use a:
wider range in downloading, sorting, tagging, easily finding photos, quick photo edits and batch-edit but otherwise share the same functionallity.
Thanks for clearing this up.

By the way, to whomever is downvoting uncomfortable questions, if you're reading this - would you please stop? Minus ratings for legitimate, if hard, questions make me and Zoner look bad, and *I* don't mind answering them :-D
A small postscript on my last answer - a) Apologies, I guess there weren't "lots of" other questions to answer after all, b) the "Automatic backups" are the ones we create (unless you turn it off) when you first edit a file, and c) I know this list is brief, so if you have questions on specific features just let me know!
For Antonioo (87): No independent text color options, but we do have a couple of other overall program color schemes available - for example you might enjoy "black" better than the normal "dark" scheme. Find these under Settings > Preferences... > Appearance.

Just Askin' (81):
No sinister intentions here, just missed the question (I mistakenly thought that #64 was referring to #56 for some reason) - apologies.
Naturally, the Home Edition is different from the Free Edition, or we wouldn't bother selling it. It's just not a question that normally comes up much, though I do understand it coming up here.
I'll base this answer on the Free vs. Pro chart, so some of the points will be a little strange ("NEITHER"). I'm doing it this way to save time since there's lots more to answer too. Here we go:
Basic photo management - BOTH
Downloading, sorting, tagging, and easily finding photos - BOTH, BUT WIDER RANGE IN HOME EDITION
Quick photo edits: Work faster with resizing, exposure correction and more,
batch-edit even thousands of photos at once - BOTH, BUT WIDER RANGE IN HOME EDITION
Backups to keep your photographic treasures safe (i.e. Sync tool) - NEITHER
Automatic backups that guarantee you won’t lose your prize photos - BOTH
Sharing photos on social networks: upload photos easily to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa and Zonerama - BOTH
Panoramas and 3D photos: create super panoramas and 3D pictures even with a normal camera - BOTH
Creative tools like HDR, tone mapping, tilt-shift: give your photos a whole new dimension - NEITHER
Full RAW processing: Simply put your photos in the queue and let the computer process them - NEITHER

heyyy...this is one heck of an innovative GUI! Handy, too. The dark tone is easy on an ol' graphic artist's eyes, though...a slightly whiter-tone for lettering might be better, or at selection of the item. Layout is great! Zoner, would you PLEASE do a similar CAD program?!! Gently-using it thus far, I'm going to feel my SerifPagePlus will seem "awkward" and crude, comparatively! You might consider a DTP-program, too, Zoner. Good job!!

Hi Othello86,
Thank you kindly for going into more detail! It looks like you are referring to this checkbox:
"Help future development of this program by offering anonymous usage statistics"
Rather than photos, this is information about how the program gets used, with no tie to any user names, IP addresses, etc. This is something you see - always optional of course - in a lot of programs, because users who leave it on help to make future versions better.
(In our lawyer-happy world, silently transferring any personal information anywhere would put is in court and in jail in a blink - and of course rightly so!)

Hi Zoner,
When the End User License Agreement is displayed, there are 2 boxes just underneath it, and the 2nd one asks if you approve that random samples of your photos will be sent back to the program website.
If this is unticked, then there should be no privacy problem.

And again (last comment now is #76) Zoner customer "support" doesn't address my question (#64 and earier #29). I first thought my question @29 was overlooked, but in #76 again overlooking #64 is not probable any longer.
This could happen when my question was not polite or any type of bashing, but it is completely valid and polite too.
I only can assume Zoner doesn't want to answer this question deliberatly. This is starnge, why should that be? #74 gets an answer right away. My question is of the same magnitude.
I only can think of something obscure, like Zoner has something to hide. This should not be necessary because Zoner IS a fine product indeed. I like it very much.
It might be something about the free and the home version that should not be told.
I cannot see any difference between the free and the home version and Zoner won't go into it. Well a difference is the price ofcourse.
When the only difference between the Free version and the Home version is only the price it means that you can have the product for free or you can have the same called Home version and pay for it.
Ofcourse the giveaway Home version is free, but the free version is always free. You don't have to bother getting it here at GAOTD. And more, Zoner was giving away something free that was already free.
Something Zoner doesn't like to tell you, don't you think? Well, thanks I suppose.

Hello all,
Apologies for the long stretch with no answers - I'm holding the fort alone this year so the answers stop when I go home for the European evening.
Zipper (54): Zoner Photo Studio does not secretly search your hard drive for photos and send them to Zoner Software. It doesn't even non-secretly do that. I can't think of anything in our End User License Agreement that would give that impression, but if it does, it needs to be reworded, because that's horrible.
IRL Joanie (56), Casey (58): This sounds like a job for Tech Support - please write to our "support@" address on this and we'll get it fixed!
Marilyn (60): Yes, Zoner Photo Studio would work fine in that role. You may even be able to do it very quickly - in many cases the Quick Fix command (Edit > Adjust > Quick Fix... in the Manager) will be enough.
Fran (61): No extras downloads are provided with this GAOTD. This is the first time I've heard of a tradition like that on GAOTD, but it does make sense - I'll mention it to the team for our next Giveaway. Regarding the envelopes, the key here is that the installer needs to install to your ZPS 15 folder. It wrote what it wrote because it failed at that. We'll look into why that happened, but for now you can work around it by telling the installer the right path yourself. Normally that path is c:\program files\zoner\photo studio 15, but you may have chosen a different one.
Dan (66): Actually you can run both the 14 Pro and 15 Home, so you don't need to choose. In that light - if you go and do that, you may get a bit worried when you see the offer to import your v14 settings while installing v15. Don't worry, it won't destroy anything if you do.
Kwyau (71), Art (73): Because we understand that checks on Windows startup aren't everyone's cup of tea, there's an in-program option to turn that off - go to Settings > Preferences... > Integration for that. Art, that Windows startup program is what you're seeing the program trying to install when you shut down ZPS, so when you turn off that option, ZPS will stop doing that.
Othello86 (72): Arrrgh this rumor is taking on a life of its own! Now I'm curious which installation option you have in mind.
Jane Smith (74): Here's a v14/v15 comparison: http://www.zoner.com/en/new-in-version-15.
JC (62) and Jane: The Pro discount offer was indeed originally timed to end with the Giveaway itself. We've talked it over here and we've decided to extend it until Saturday, Central European Time. I hope it helps you evaluate the software as you need!

Hi Everyone,
Well, Just Downloaded and installed Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME, With no problems at all on an AMD Bulldozer 6 core @ 3.4GHz with 16GB of RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit.
Verified it registered OK and everything looks great! Is very similar to Adobe's Photo Shop, That I usually use. But, This looks Very Nice and easy and Fast to use and work with. I played with a few Photos and was very surprised and happy with the results! It would be a great editor for the field for editing and printing on-site since it is low overhead and fast! I can see it being very valuable for In-The-Field Photo Shoots and edit and print the photos On-Site, Witch I do a lot of. I will most likely buy a copy of Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME, For my Lap-Tops to use in the field. For the price its well worth it! And for more Custom In-studio Work I always have my Adobe Photo Shop! I think that Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME is a great addition to any photographers Photo software and Printing uses! no Mater if its for the "Pro" Photographer or for the new or just learning Photography and editing\Printing capabilities.
For the Beginner its easy to use and understand, So, That you can begin enjoying your photos while your learning Photo Shop etc. I could see Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME or PRO, Covering most of your production needs even to the time you become a professional and beyond! Like I said, I plan on using Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME in a portable environment where you take shoots of an event and people would like to buy and receive there photos right then! Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME is Fast and easy to learn and when your in the field and customers want there photos and maybe some custom work done right then! Like at an event! where people don't want to come to your shop at a later date to get there Photos!
For very precise closeups, Like In-Studio Work Photo Shop has more precise and custom abilities. Not to say that Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME can hold its own against Photo Shop? But I can not compare this until I Perches Zoner Photo Studio 15 PRO Version to be able to do some 1 on 1 comparisons, and I will do that in the near future as the price for the PRO Version is very competitive with Photo Shop! With the price difference in mind I would not expect Zoner Photo Studio 15 PRO to out perform Adobe Photo Shop! But from what I have seen from Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME today it would make a very good backup program especially when your in a hurry or need an assistant to do some fairly standard, Everyday type production where the assistant may not know Photo Shop that well or is learning? Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME/PRO would enable an Assistant to be more productive as they are learning the business.
For the hobbyist, or Novice Photographer, Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME would, and Is! A Great! Inexpensive, Yet very high quality Photo editor that would not brake the bank and yet allow the Novice to produce very high quality Photos. It would let them create Professional looking Photos, While not making them crazy trying to figure out how to use more complex Photo software! Its a great Program with endless possibilities.
For Me? Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME gets 2 Thumbs Up! Thank You Zoner Software and of course GOTD! For making Photo Studio 15 HOME available to all of us today for FREE! To use and enjoy as long as we like. I know I will be playing with Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME for some time so see what all it can do! But, So fare today it looks Great! If you where looking to try Zoner Photo Studio 15 HOME out? Or, Looking for a great (FREE TODAY) Photo editor? This is It! You will Not be disappointed! That's it for me! Take Care, But, Always Have Fun! Rick D.

Dear Zoner Support,
Is there a way to learn the difference between Zoner 14 Pro and Zoner 15 Pro?
Not sure if I want to spend the money for the upgrade just yet until I can figure that out.
Also, it would be great if the discount were extended for a few more days! It takes a while to be sure if the upgrade is a good idea by putting the giveaway through its paces. Other Giveaway program software companies offer their discount for a few days, and there are at least 2 that would go at least 5, sometimes 7 days before turning away the paying customers.
Please take the discount extension into consideration!

Every time I ran it, upon terminating the program it wanted to install some sort of auto-start tray application. My startup monitor program prevented that from happening without my explicit OK. For something I'm not going to use frequently, I don't need extra baggage.

The only one thing I don't like is that it adds an entry in the startup program (zpstray.exe) for checking updates. I can't find an option within the program to turn this off. I just updated the software to b7 but still the same. It seems this only happens in v15 but not previous versions.

I'm really liking this software and being an old Photoshop user, I'm finding it very intuitive to use by comparison. You can be as technical as you like, choosing your own settings, or leave it to the Autofix which you might have to repeat several times on the one pic to achieve what you want - better than it over doing an improbable fix. In fact, I like it so much that I think I'll buy the Pro version. This Home version is a nice bit of kit and not resource hungry.
I own Coral PSP and Photoshop CS5 and Lightbox, plus a slew of freebies, but I think this Zoner might end up as my first port of call when downloading my photos from my camera and giving them a quick brush-up. (I really loathe Coral PSP. They bought out a lovely JASC programme and proceeded to wreck it! Hope this doesn't happen to Zoner)
One super big beef is about the PDF Instruction Manual downloaded from their site. Who in their right mind prepares a manual for a graphics programme without one single illustration? The whole thing is page after page of boring small text with bold headings!!! Not even an image of the user interface with a key to the functions. This really needs to be fixed for those of us who detest learning from videos.
Very much worth a download. Rego is confusing, but I'm trusting the company's comments here that it is activated.

Ironically, when I saw this GOTD I happened to be working with another photo editing program I hadn't used in a while. I'm temporarily working on a friend's computer, and since he doesn't have any of my usual (mostly paid) photo programs, I downloaded Photo Pos Pro (http://www.photopos.com/Photo-Pos-Pro-Free-Photo-Editor.asp). I used it today to create some transparent PNGs for a website I'm working on, and I rather enjoyed working with it. I would liken it somewhat to Adobe's "Photoshop Elements"-- so if you're looking for something like that (and you think 'The Gimp' is not that user-friendly), give it a shot. I'm not sure if it will satisfy hardcore photographers, but for a free program (looks like it used to be around $80) it's pretty darn full-featured. (And Giovanni didn't mention it!)
I will also download today's giveaway and do some comparisons while the other one is still fresh in my mind... As always, thanks GOTD!

Dear Zoner Folks,
As a developer, with a feel for the economics of it, if I like something here a lot, and it does what I expect it to, I often buy the premium version (hopefully with a lifetime license to include future updates etc). But knowing how truly useful it is going to be, may take a few days.
So just to be sure how this discount arrangement works. You cannot test the software for a day or two and then take advantage of the discount once you have run it through its paces? Is that accurate? You only get the discount if you order it now?
If so, one might ask "Why?" Isn't a sale, a sale?
That would make a big difference, to have tested it thoroughly before laying down the green stuff, for a lifetime of graphic bliss.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi, this is about ENVELOPES containing Frames/Shapes within today's GAOTD Home Version, where we come to a little note running this Program saying "get more" (here)...
It then takes us to Page with Free 30-day Trial http://www.zoner.com/en/download
where we see:
"Get the most out of your
Zoner Photo Studio!
Here are some accessories and extras to get the maximum out of your photo editing software:
Envelopes And Templates
Want to make a frame for your photo or give it some life with a template? Come here for color envelopes and extra templates."
However when trying to install this stand-alone Installation called zps15_en_templates - each time (that is all the Paths I can find and think of) I get Message:
"Zoner Photo Studio was not found on the given path! Please select the path on which Zoner Photo Studio was installed and then continue installing"
I'm only asking WHERE to possibly install additional Envelopes (especially additional Frames), if indeed this installation contains them - after previously losing Zoner Photo Studio 14 Home, but from what (little) remains on my PC from that installation noticing there is Envelope1 and Envelope2 (with more Frames) AND in Today's Installation there is only 1 Envelope (b&w shapes basically)
Secondly are we, Today's Downloaders INTITLED to install anything "extra" and where to if we are?? Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Mario (46): Updating to a new patch of the program won't break your Giveaway Edition and will not make you lose your license, so please do not turn off automatic updates! An unupdated program is a program missing patches; a program missing patches is a program that can suffer a bug that's already fixed in a patch - and that would be a shame.
BigCam (49): Either version 14 or version 15 introduced support for creating 3D pictures in the MPO format and the JPS/PNS formats. I have to admit I'm not an expert on 3D formats, but I'm pretty one or all of those is the true 3D you are talking about. To switch from anaglyph 3D to one of these other kinds, use the "3D image type" switcher in the 3D wizard step called "Create 3D Image."
Istvan (50): The Giveaway edition does not need a license code; the software is activated now.

Downloaders and installers of this program need to be aware that whether or not the computer user wants to or not, this program searches your drives for photos and sends them home to Zoner. This is not widely known but it is true. And, any new photos you add to your drives, those will also be sent Zoner. Nice software! The "Quick Fix" function seems to be optimal, in 10 cases of ten! I were not able to analyze the other editor functions, yet, but they seem promising! After successful installation and seeing the activation window, I checked the Help/License menu item. It seemed to me as if it waited for a license code. Is it than an activated software now or there is a step missing to that? Will it not invalid after the activation period? Should I reinstall the software?'

this is the best photo editing program I know, or at least, as the potential to be - only if I was the CEO of the company!
Consider to make a real offer here and giveaway the pro version.
Is there a proper manual already, or am I stacked to the eventual youtube tutorial in strange languages :-) ?
For those of you that think the inedible photoshop is It, I left an - just one - example/challenge: do this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK39BXde3XI - in photoshop. Forget the hours you spent: my point is that I can do this without having to spend my entire life learning out of the world mouse clicks combinations. The same for almost any other out of the trivial editing. And I can do that in a very old pc that have heart attacks at the very mention of words like 'adobe' 'java'...
Zoner guys: in time this program will be in every photo maniac (everybody nowadays, it seems) pc. as long as you manage to keep it straight and bulsh*t free.
I want this very very well explained http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3aulJEXzoY
This is the only kind of editing that one wants when opening a program like zoner. all the rest is available everywhere.
You have to change the slides that change brush dimension. at least make them working without annoying no one and visible (they never work at first try - they slip off of the mouse, even in yours tutorials - and are tiny).
Keep the 'publishing to' working well: that's key nowadays.
very nice of you commenting here: that's the attitude that will make you leaders.
I can help translate to pt-pt.

#18 - unfortunately - 2 months after I bought my new Van, Chevrolet cam out with an updated model. Stuff happens - get over it - and lose the entitlement attitude.
