Well, I really like this one, however, I cannot uninstall it at all. I like to change my wallpaper, however, I did the uninstall but it removed all the files except the exe file and then it started running again.
I do think it is a nice wallpaper.

Installed and runs well on my Win 7 Home Premium. But I do not like the fact that it attempts to call home. Therefore, I do not think I will keep this giveaway.

This has the same problem as their last offer. It is set to autorun with Windows start. Even if you uncheck it, the next time you start the wallpaper, the autocheck is again active. I have 5 other animated wallpapers and none of these force me to autostart with Windows startup. I like the wallpaper but I don't want it ti run every time I start my computer. Thank you for the offer but no I will pass.

Another thing I noticed wrong about the picture, they are NOT at anchor. That means realistically, the boat should be drifting towards the viewer. Small point I know, on an otherwise decent animated wallpaper.

It doesnt crash on exiting Firefox 19.0.2, only on existing IE10.0.9200.16540 for me.

Downloaded to win 7 pro 64 b about 8 am and it worked fine until just now (5:30 pm). Closed a game I was playing and all the icons had moved and some which were earlier removed from the desktop reappeared. While I was moving my icons back to their original positions the wallpaper proggie crashed. Liked it but not enough to go seeking the problem, so am deleting it.

this is very nice and looks good on my large screen monitor. I use windows 8 and it doesnt show up in windows screensaver choices, you have to go into your Programs, find the download folder and make a shortcut to the desktop. It works fine!

Problems with icons and multiple monitors are DesktopPaint's fault. All other issues are due to your video drivers. Runs fine for me with Win7x64 and IE10. It's listed as XP-compatible (not that anyone should be supporting XP), so again that's a problem with your video card / drivers if it doesn't work. Whiterabbit-uk, it shows up as Yacht Animated Wallpaper under the Yacht Animated Wallpaper programs folder. I haven't upgraded / downgraded to Win8 yet, but it probably works on the legacy desktop (definitely not in the Windows Store UI).

I'm with #15 and #24, I have XP SP3, so this one likely won't work on my lower-spec computer. I did some research into Direct3D, and it's worth noting that according to Wikipedia, XP does not support newer versions of Direct3D (version 10 and higher), so some of the newer programs of this nature may not run properly. But I do love the screensavers and the animated wallpapers because they help alleviate stress and soothe the mind after a long day, so I voted it up. Thanks again and keep up the good work, GOTD.

"Water and ship are perfectly animated and look extremely realistic." Hey there! This isn't Pixar or Disney, ya know? We Americans are losing our dependence on superlatives, which these days don't express anything but someone's favoring an item or disliking it. See "awesome" or "sucks."

#2 dp — Read the question. Did you find this comment useful? yes | no
Now read the question again.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the program. The voting is all about the usefulness of that user's comment.
I had to vote No on yours because you weren't on point. Which made your comment not useful to me.

Did you notice there is only one vote result because of the balancing vote system? A YES vote adds 1 and a NO vote deducts 1. Which is smart on GAOTD's part.

Your comment is below:
2.OK, if you don,t like wallpapers just keep on moving down the internet! Don,t vote this down because 1)Don,t like wallpapers 2)Did not download, install, run, then vote! or the best… 3)UR LAZY!

I love products from DesktopPaints. Even to GAOTD forum members who get programs free of charge, DesktopPaints ALWAYS answers questions when stuck.

I have amazed my friends with things I made using DesktopPaints.
Don't vote it down, but try to learn how to use DesktopPaints.

Would not install on my windows 7 32 bit computer. "Program Association" error. Don't have problems installing animated screen savers, why this? From reading the other comments, it looks like the software needs more development work and is simply not ready for distribution. Not even worth the "free" price.

Installed easily, runs fine, looks pleasant on the desktop. A few more options wouldn't hurt, such as the ability to change the boat and the ripple rate, and adding sound when nothing else needs it could make the wallpaper nicer, but all in all it's a worthwhile addition and I like it.

I am with the others getting "When I tried to start it, I received this message “Switching to the reference rasterizer, a software device that implements the entire
Direct3D feature set, but runs very slowly” followed by “Failed creating the Direct3D device” then nothing." The company told me that it means it won't work on my computer, luckily, my laptop will run these wallpapers.

Just ONE wallpaper for 8 bucks? Not a keeper for me!!

How about have a chance to select about over 25,000 wallpapers for FREE, with the ability to automatically change them at a given interval and category??

Too good to be true? Certainly NOT!!

downloaded and installed on windows 7 64 no problem. I have 12gb of ram so I thought, why not try this and it looks pretty cool, not like totally awesome, but is really nice.

Looks nice, runs well and is my first ever animated wallpaper. I have not tried to change any of the settings in the menu yet and do not see the need to at this point.

Thanks GOTD, I like this one even though it in no way helps me be more productive. LOL

Nice looking animated wallpaper. I personally would have liked to seen a power boat instead of a sailboat though.

This program overrode my icons and had no way to be shut down that I can find. Tried to change back to regular wallpaper, and not working my shortcuts are missing has corrupted some shortcuts on desktop. Tried uninstalling will not uninstall cleanly. This one was a regret. Will have to do a little work to bring comp back to former glory this program just doesn't seem to have everything it needs or isn't obvious to fools like me. Already have animated wallpapers on win 7 this one breaks win 7 thanks anyway.

No problems installing on Win 7 Home Premium, and, as others have said, very light on resources, so it isn't intrusive.

I find watching the motion of the water relaxing, tho the yacht is a little naff - only moves up and down with the ripple effect, and the silhouetted people on board distort when the ripple goes over them, so it could be improved just by taking out the people... I would prefer to lose the yacht altogether, and see something more natural to the habitat, like dolphins playing in the distance e.g.

I will probably let it remain as a wallpaper for a little while, but I wouldn't be inspired to pay for something like this unless it was a lot more realistic and sophisticated.

This is not high resolution, precise viewable. Watching it, blurred and pixelated as it is, is enough to make one nauseaus. Unstalling it is not enough. One must turn it off inside it's control panel, and then delete it from the system to have it gone. Not worth the download, sorry.

1) When I tried to change the name of the icon on my Desktop, letters became invisible, then started to blink, so I barely could see them.
2) Moving the icon caused wallpaper to crash.
3) Uninstalled.

There are two problems: a) cannot coexist with "Fences" i.e. icons that beforfe were separated into various "Fences" panels are lumped together into one big icon field and b) once run there is no way to stop the animation except killing the "Service" through the Windows Task Manager. Also: the animation is anything but realistic as the Yacht remains stationary and all that moves are the waves.

Runs as a small 2.9Mb executable (the 10.6Mb GOTD download contains the GOTD wrapper, hence the size disparity)and is a stand-alone: it doesn't install into Windows. It's not a resource hog.

Lack of publisher information isn't a good thing and the absence of signature *may* trigger false positives in some AVs. However, it's clean (according to Malwarebytes PRO and Kaspersky AV.)

Settings are minimal (Fill / Stretch / Fit) with Fill being the default. It plays perfectly in 16:9 widescreen, unlike many of the Astro-Gemini offerings that appear here.

Wave animation is good but the colors are virulent. The yacht itself isn't actually sailing anywhere, rather is anchored in position and bobs up and down. There's no sound, which is certainly one way of minimizing the app's size but is a disappointment: this would've been all the more effective for some waves-and-wind audio.

Verdict: OK-ish. The app can actually be DL'd directly from the publisher's website and run for an unlimited number of 3-minute test periods if you wish to check it out first.

Thanks to GOATD and the developer. This isn't a keeper for me but everyone's taste is different.

I mistakenly downloaded this tool as Screensaver.
But to my pleasant surprise it was wallpaper. Animated wallpaper to be precise.

It's just like Live Wallpapers are there in Android. But unlike Android, this one isn't heavy on resources. Does what it claims. A beautiful Yatch sailing in a sea, with animated waves. Pretty neat. There are handful of general settings, like Aurotun, picture position etc. Some icons on desktop looks funny over the animated wallpaper. Using icon smoothing only makes it look blur. But that's acceptable, consider I don't keep much icons on desktop anyway.

Overall, I liked the concept of animated wallpaper (or live wallpapers), and can use more such wallpapers. A keeper.

I'm sure that many people will thumb this down without even knowing what it is. This isn't a screensaver, it's an animated wallpaper from DesktopPaints. Just like their other products, it's an animated still image. Most people aren't going to notice the imperfections in the animation. Depending upon your graphics card, it consumes near zero CPU. I don't use desktop icons, I expect that it has the same problems with icons and multiple monitors as previously. I'm giving it a thumbs-up, but I almost never see my wallpaper, and I use Xeric Design EarthDesk with high-resolution clouds, which you have to pay for.

There have been reports of problems with the drivers for the Bluetooth Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse. When you look at its Properties under Bluetooth Devices, you should see multiple drivers. If not, Windows won't report a problem and won't fix it. You can try deleting and re-adding it. You have to wait for Windows to install drivers for it, then Bluetooth services to be installed. If that doesn't work and you're using Win7 and have a wired keyboard/mouse handy, like ancient PS/2 devices, try deleting the entries for HID-compliant consumer control device and HID-compliant device under Human Interface Devices in the Device Manager. Under Action, Scan for hardware changes. Under Bluetooth Radios, try disabling your radio's power management. Windows should also install the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator under Bluetooth Radios. If it's not there, it won't work. Delete and re-add the Touch Sculpt Mouse as before.

If you're using the NEC/Renesas uPD720201 (4-port) or uPD720202 (2-port) USB 3.0 Host Controller and receiving device code 10 about the driver not starting, try finding the Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller under Universal Serial Bus Controllers in the Device Manager. Under Properties, Advanced try disabling the USB 3.0 power management. You may have to completely cut the AC power to the computer (the push-button power switch won't do) for several minutes. That's after you've updated the firmware and drivers, I generally recommend http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm

Set-up was a cinch. It installed on my D: drive where I put it.
Normally I don't like things moving around on my desk-top but the boat just bobs in the water and the waves ripple. There is also a nice sky in the back-ground.
Desk-top pictures last a month, tops, before I change them but I'm sure I'll get back to this again after it's gone.
I'd say it's a keeper.
'Nuff said.

Not very realistic. Water looked horrid, yacht moves up and down. That's it for it. Sky looks good, but not good enough to keep. Seen much better screen savers for free. Sorry but this one is dead to my machine
