Works well even on a PC I built 14 years ago that I recently revived with a new install of Windows 7-64 bit and 16 GB of RAM. Ripped a DVD to .mkv with default settings in about 35 minutes. It would probably do even better with newer systems. The video output quality is very good. Thanks for the Give Away.

I have used Wonder fox for several years works well. I intend to install newest software. Copy to external hard drive for later viewing. Eliminates all of the dvds taking up space.

Am I better off sticking with WonderFox DVD Video Converter which I already have:
"WonderFox DVD Video Converter can be your go-to solution to rip DVDs and convert HD/4K/8K videos to mainstream formats and popular device profiles, as well as download videos using URL. Now, stop juggling between multiple apps. You can get all these things done in one tool!"

If you already have Wonderfox software does it autoregister you?

I agree. I have quite the collection of film noir from the 40s and 50s as well as more modern noirs. They're not done yet.

Thanks, is there a time limit to the license or is it free to use forever just no free upgrades?

Mark, says right in the license details: lifetime license. From my experience GOTD always prohibits updates without switching to the trial version and no free tech support.

Does it work for Blue Ray disks too?

Super nice giveaway I would have loved this software ten years ago, however I really don't have a use for it unfortunately, DVDs are almost unspoken of...thanks anyway.

>"DVDs are almost unspoken of..."
Walmart for example lists over 1000 [25 pages] for sale. Lots of people do streaming and have abandoned them, but loads still play DVDs, and to a lesser extent, Blu-ray. DVDs are watchable on up to a 1080p screen, but on a 4k TV, not so much. It's also important to note that there's one DRM that software cannot remove -- DVD video quality is purposely reduced so it won't survive re-encoding. If you want to maintain video quality you have to do a 1:1 copy. You can put the original mpg2 video in another container like MKV, but you may then struggle with player compatibility. If you use subs, you can OCR them to a .srt file using something like SubtitleEdit, and many players can use that file instead of the original graphics-based subs, which looks MUCH better on an HD screen.
