Does this create candidates for deletion based on a hash of the contents or name+date+size ?

Are there options on how the duplicate files are identified? Some duplicate files, like movie and song titles, don't have exactly the same name, but their size is the same..........can they be chosen to be flagged? How about duplicate files that have different sizes (because their quality differs) but the names are the same?

This PC, C:\search, *.jpg or *.bmp, *.gif or *.doc and so on, you will know after a while where the duplicate or more files are.
A test; search results for this PC; 394 JPG files double or more or single that are present in my email program. I haven't seen anything else!

I use Bit Defender Total Security - normally it is fine with GotD files but not this one. I had to disable every single protection mechanism just to run the setup file (I did scan it beforehand!). Once that was sorted out installation was swift and trouble free - program is pre-registered which is a plus point. Unfortunately this software does not work in the way I was expecting and I found the presentation of the results unusable so I have uninstalled it.
Sorry WiseCleaner. I do use other software by you, I know you write good programs but this one is just not for me!

Installed the program. When I open it, there is a tab labelled Professional/Upgrade. When I click on it, there it an option to add a registration code and/or buy the upgraded version. "About" says "Registried" (sic). So, what version is this?
Also, the EULA contains,
"5. SCHEDULE TASKS
By installing this Product, you acknowledge that the product will create and run scheduled tasks on your computer. The scheduled tasks are enabled by default and can be disabled by you at any time from the product settings."
It's not clear what these tasks are. I don't see anything under the product settings, but maybe I'm missing something.

You can select individual folders to scan, without selecting the whole drive. Just click on "add folder" at the bottom of the menu that lets you check off whole drives. Don't check any of the drives. Just add a folder.
