One thing that's put me off iPhones and iPads is the difficulty in transferring files to PC. I've got a lot of PDFs on an old iPad 2, haven't found a way to copy them to PC yet, iTunes and WinX don't see them, presumably because I didn't pay for them through Apple, apart from one epub file in Books, which I converted from a Kindle book. Are there any tweaks which might me access to the files from a PC?

Thanks to all for your suggestions. According to what I've just read, Apple sandbox their apps and don't allow them to access files in other apps, so I think it'll be a case of emailing the books to myself rather than being able to do a bulk upload to Dropbox and getting them from there. Rainy day job.

Hans Oellers, Usually the giveaway is for the current version. Sometimes the license is good forever but not for future upgraded versions of the software, perhaps minor updates. (since it could be 1.0.3 vs. 1.0.1 or something)
