For many people, the desktop is simply the place where shortcuts and icons are located, without any real functionality. Nonetheless, you can benefit from all the empty space on your desktop by adding post-its, and Vov Sticky Notes is one of the apps that can help you do that.

Once you install it on your PC, the application automatically goes to the system tray, and you can right-click its icon when you want to create a new note. It basically opens a resizable window where you can paste text or start typing some of your important tasks.

Another handy function of Vov Sticky Notes is that you can create reminders to be displayed on a regular basis. You only need to choose the frequency interval, and then enter an appropriate message.

My Avast told me it could be dangerous, but it's done that before with this kind of older program, so I installed it anyway. So far, I really like it!!

Good if you have plenty of deskspace but I have a lot of icons on my desktop so I don't want them covered with notes.

I've been using an earlier version.
The installer claims it cannot install because the program is running -- but it is not.
I restarted my computer just to see if that helped. The sticky notes did not load on restart but I got the same error message.
Very frustrating.
I will continue to use the old version if it will still run.

I have used this program since it was offered before.
The installation program claims it will not install because I have that program running -- but it is not running.
I restarted my computer just to see if that made a difference -- sticky notes did not start as the computer restarted but I got the same message.
Very frustrating but I will continue to use the older version.

I got the version 4.2.0.0 in Aug 2018 from Giveaway of the Day. I still use it now. For those of us who are not all Tech savy. It was a Godsend. I don't care that it isn't fancy or doesn't have fancy graphics. It works. It is simple. I like it. I will try the newer one, if I don't like it, I'll keep the older one.

Sticky Notes is a PHENOMENAL program!
I use it many times each day to organise my creativity and pleasure.

I was using a hyper old version I bought with another product.

Surprised they gave this away. I've been saving up to upgrade for years now.

Shame that something FREE causes so much DRAMA in your life. Guess if you don't use it you will have a happy life?
Yeah I know the saving up sounded weird. V2 worked so well, I just didn't need to make it a priority.

If you don't like it, then NO WORRIES. Just don't use it!

There are so many free and open sourced alternatives... Sticky notes, Resoph Notes... dozens. Even Post-It(tm) makes one, free. Why pay for this ?

Registration was about as complicated as it should always be. What a refreshing change.

I will always keep my ever growing, long term Notepad file to hand on my desktop but this offering does so much more and I have found it also enables copy/paste of photographs etc

Very handy as that will save a lot of faffing about.

This has been discontinued for years but I've installed it on every Windows PC I've had and its still the best looking and includes a few extras. The only issue I have is occasionally a note seems to create its own alarm. Slightly annoying. I wish someone would add to this software.-

But Windows 10 has a built in sticky notes. I am using it. You cannot change the note colour.
Many FREE sticky note software available. Some of the Portable.
Vovsoft develops this product because it does not hurt to have extra income stream.
And it is probably easy to create this software.
You can change the colour of the note in Vov software.
Some people will just pay to buy because the price is low $10.
As for reminder, well there are also FREE software for this.
I do NOT like the Vov stick notes defaulting to appear in the system tray (bottom right hand corner) every time you use the PC. You have no choice. This is bad.
I want to choose when I wish to use such utility.

ricohflex, Thanks for letting us know that WIN 10 has Sticky Notes already included. I launched the app and found that the note colors can be changed by clicking upper right area.

When I first saw the title of today's giveaway I was ready to dismiss it, but as I read the description I thought this might be worth looking at and downloaded it. Installation was quick and easy and Vov Sticky \\notes has plenty of useful features to make it worth keeping. I've already found it useful. A definite keeper and better than the sticky notes built in to windows. Thank you.
