This has got to be the most hidious screen saver I have ever seen. Astrogemini isn't even putting an effort into making their screensavers. The graphics are choppy and it looks like a 3 year old cut some pictures out of a magazine and pasted them on a background. $9.95 for this????? Are you kidding me???? You couldn't pay me the $9.95 to keep it on my computer.

Yes, as GG above states, settings are in your screensaver control- choose to drop the music &/or change the text that will display-

FWIW, the Valentine's Day 3D Screensaver reminds me of images &/or figurines etc. of animals like a giraffe or a reindeer, created by someone who's never seen a picture of a giraffe or a reindeer. My wife, Valerie's birthday is the 14th -- needless to say I've seen & gifted a LOT of Valentine's Day stuff over the years [Val starts counting down to the holiday just after Xmas], & this screensaver just doesn't *fit*.

That said, this Valentine's Day 3D Screensaver doesn't have a whole lot going on, so it took less CPU & GPU [graphics card processor] than most 3D screensavers, though OTOH fps was lower than expected at 40-45 vs. the usual 60-65.

This is a nice screensaver. GOTD should only allow votes from people who actually download and install the software. There are now four overall positive comments here today whilst 350 negative votes appear and a nearly negative 85% rating! Something is quite wrong with that. It renders the ratings system useless.

Maybe the problem today is that some people just don't like screensavers. But, if you don't like something, please don't vote against it for spite.

The one, and only one suggestion so far in "Share Your Ideas" is to be able to add a photo(s), and I agree I would be quite nice to have that option to show your wife or girlfriend (husband or boyfriend).

Thanks to GOTD and Astro Gemini software.

I have been very pleased with every Astro Gemini screensaver I've tried, and especially so with the Father Christmas House screen saver offered a while back. Cheers!

This has three strikes that mandate against installing:
1. it is useless. (The need for "screensavers" went out with the CRT.)
2. it is appropriate for one day a year
3. judging from the screenshots on the website, it is odd and ugly.

I downloaded this and put in a personal message for my Wife and two daughters, for when the screensaver launched. The graphics were poor, and the reaction from the females in my family was "Cupid is creepy!"

$9.95 for a screen-saver to be used once a year? And no way to put loved ones on the screen? Seems a waste of money to me. A bit like buying flowers that are dying the moment they are picked.

I would prefer a novelty screensaver (one that is unique)from GAOTD.
I bumped into this where cupid is shown more like a comet passing
through the heavens' and reaches earth once every 365 days on February 14.

This particular screensaver looks more like one that automatically
instals into your computer when you visit shady websites.

#1, GeekGurl, the settings are available, the screensaver is named "D3D Screensaver" in the Windows screensaver list.

Um, all I can say is this is different. Instead of Cupid shooting love-arrows into people, you have a somewhat creepy unclothed Cupid floating above the clouds, shooting arrows into your typical caricature of a floating heart, which yields various famous quotes about love. There are ball-like colored objects floating around, and occasionally flowers. The music is repetitive. This would have been nicer with the quotes but without the strangeness, and with better music. The install was clean but shows up as "D3D Screensaver". Some people may like this for the quotes, but 3Planesoft has far more visually appealing Valentine's Day screensavers; they have good video of their screensavers on their website.

This is coming from someone who likes screensavers, btw. Windows Vista 64 OS.

Biggest problems is there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the settings. Didn't show up in the menu of Screen savers. Puts an icon on your desktop to run it, but no way of getting to settings to change resolution or other settings like the clock or sounds.

Graphics look sub par, but that may be because I couldn't find the controls.

Basically you've got buck naked cupid flying above the clouds shooting arrows into floating hearts. When he hits one, you get a romantic quote. (*yawn*) Can't figure out what the colorful balls floating around are there for. Even cupid looks board in this one. Music is okay, but hardly romantic--sounds like something out of the early version of The Sims.

Astro Gemini has had much better.
