Ran this program on Windows 11.
I´ve been backing up my dvds and blurays for decades. I am well aware of all the nuances of making proper backups of movie discs.
The interface of this program is simple to understand but it becomes confusing when you navigate it.
Example:
In the Format section you are presented with a plethora of pre-configured profiles / options to select which was obviously developed for the average user who simply wants to copy a movie to the hard drive. No problem there, but the options change when selecting the same format container in a different section:
If you select Format – Common Video – MKV
If you click on the settings button:
Bit rate for video will only allow you to raise it up to 2500 kbps
Audio: only AAC and MP3
If you select Format – HD Video – MKV H.264
When you click the settings button:
Now video bit rate can be raised to 9800 kbps
Audio: AC3 shows up now and MP3 audio is gone
If you select Format – HD Video – MKV H.265
When you click the settings button:
Now video bit rate can be raised to 9800 kbps
Audio: all audio formats are gone except AAC
MKV is such a versatile container. Why not list ALL the possibilities of video and audio formats every time you choose the MKV container? Or add a Custom section to the format menu for all of us who know how to transcode video and audio.
There is no possibility to extract or add subtitles. Not all movies are in English and even a ton of English-speaking movies have “alien” or “ancient” dialogues which would need to be subbed.
I have an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with 128GB of RAM running along an Nvidia RTX 3070. Ripping and converting on other similar programs is much faster than this one. I suspect that the lack of an option allowing users to transcode / encode using the video GPU instead of software / processor encoding is what makes this program slower than others.
All in all not a bad program but there is a lot of opportunity for improvement.
Thanks for the offering.

I had a previous version of this software that wouldn't rip a few of my blu-ray disks. I uninstalled it an installed this one and it ripped them flawlessly.

DVader, Am I right in inferring that it will not only rip a blu-ray losslessly to mkv or mp4 containers but will rip and re-encode say a 40G h264 and re-encode it say... h265 2G or so or other of the available output formats?
I can't try it myself as I have no Blu-ray media or drive, but I know there are others that want to simply rip to a different more efficient codec.

On Vista SP2+ I get a pop-up alert box stating "load library failed" with an OK button to dismiss it and the app startup aborts. My guess is it is because it is using Cruntimes that require Windows 7 or above. Had same problem with previous giveaway of this product too. System Requirements should be Windows 7 or above.

TK, assuming you have a good reason to run Vista, you could run a copy of Win10 or 11 -- Win11 takes a little less disk space, while Win7 is much larger -- as a Windows To Go drive on an SSD in a USB housing [both can be bought incredibly cheap right now], or as a virtual machine, which can also run reasonably well from an SSD via USB if you're tight on disk space.

mike, the hardware that runs Vista acts as a media server still being security patched every month using server 2008 monthly roll-ups and would collapse under windows 10 I also have windows 10 machines that I have made incompatible with Windows 11 on purpose as I don't want to lose even more functionality as it has features removed compared to windows 10. (I never said I only had a Vista system) I am not too tight on disk space on the Vista machine it currently has 3TB of drives in the laptop and 2.5TB on this windows 10 laptop plus various storage on other misc machines.
I have tested this by running the inno-extracted installer from a mapped network drive on my vista server under windows 10 and registered it ok but this laptop does not have a BD drive or any optical drive and I don't have any DVD-Video or Blu-ray media... but notice this appears to be able to re-encode what it rips to different codecs using some unlicensed FFMP|EG DLL's or rip losslessly to MKV and MP4 containers. I only posted my original comment because system requirements here AND on the vendors site include XP and Vista in their list too as well as on other download sites but it simply is not true and clearly the developer has not tried to test it under an XP or Vista virtual machines for a very long time and just assumed nothing changed when they upgraded their dev platform to a more modern C library.
