A word of caution, if you store your passwords in a secure application, like I do in Sticky Password, and use copy/paste to use the requested password. Your Clip Manager will show the copied passwords in clear text. You must be sure you are the only one to see those saved clear text passwords.

krypteller, or you unerringly delete passphrases from clipboard manager program every time... but remember many programs are able to sniff clipboard contents while they run and could inadvertently obtain a copy of a passphrase!

Hello GOTD World,
I use copy/paste info functions everyday for work & research etc.
*I have tried many of these, like clipboard fusion, Ditto, clipclip, all 3 of these are pretty good.
However, before installing another, could not confirm in details.
*Can anyone out there advise if this GOTD offer, or alternative, paste Mgr, that gives a quick hover preview
of most recent several saved clips, so can quickly select & paste desired clip?
*The only one found, that can do this so far is ClipClip Mgr, but it only allows a quick hover preview of last clip only, so I have to keep clicking thru menu over & over, just to view & select desired or most often used clips.
Still cannot find a Paste Mgr, that has this user friendly option.
Thanks & Cheers !

I can't wait to try it out! TypeItIn and PasteItIn are the only 2 that i have found that work well, but they are still limited in features and functionality and the developer doesn't seem too interested in fixing the limitations or improving either; not to mention they are both expensive.

If you were once a "Clipmate" user, you'll find "ClipClip" is a good replacement. . . . far exceeds anything mentioned here so far.

Over the years I have tried many clipboard managers and as yet I have found nothing that even comes close to the opensource Ditto clipboard manager.

Craig Haywood, Haven't tried Ditto but one of the first programs I install on a new computer is the free version of Clipdiary.
Will test Ditto and compare.

Craig Haywood, thanks for the tip.
On my W11 64 Pro laptop I have installed Sandboxie Plus to install giveaways and other software that I want to try, while keeping the system as clean as possible. Today, I have installed both the giveaway and Ditto clipboard manager to compare them. The biggest difference is their size: the Smart Clip sandbox is only 5.06 MB, while the Ditto clip[board manager is 67.8 MB.
The second difference is use of use: Smart Clip is simpler to use than Ditto clipboard manager.

krypteller, once you are familiar with how ditto works, there is so much more you can do with it than other clipboard managers.

svend.ostergaard@gmail.com, I agree with you about Clipdiary. It does what I need in my day-to-day experience.

Craig Haywood,
I have installed Ditto clipboard manager based on your recommendation.
I've noticed that Ditto clipboard manager is requesting access to Windows Firewall. I'm curious as to why a program that operates solely with the clipboard would need internet access, especially considering it doesn't have a license key. I have concerns about its safety.

Loresto,
I just downloaded/ran the portable version in order to test it out. It does run in the background and appears to work well + it doesn't request firewall access. Not to my knowledge anyway...

Loresto, it is because you can use ditto as a clipboard manager across a network

Loresto,
Never used Ditto myself, but the only legitimate thing I could think of would be to check for updates if that's a feature that's built into the software, otherwise I see no need for it other than to possibly show you ads because it's "free".

This. I've been using Ditto for ages without ever having an issue. One of the best pieces of free, open-sourced software I've ever used. Insanely configurable and reliable. Ended my clipboard history tool search hard-stop. Set up all my computers and family PCs with it too. Apps like this current giveaway should be ignored when such an incredible free alternative exists.
