Unfortunately this being a limited time giveaway any problem with installation my not be resolved in time, especially on the weekend. I clicked on "Get Free Key" and almost immediately an update was installed. Any further attempts to click on "Get Free Key" have resulted in no response as the first as far as a key goes, nada. Even if the program is exited and rerun. This is on Windows 8.1 32-bit.

No-one has mentioned this...

"With one click, all desired Videos will be put in your MyTube 6 SE download-list – with the next click, you download them on your HD."

So, if I want to download all my company's videos I can do this in 2 clicks, unlike all the single-shot downloaders being suggested in these comments. That, for me, is a very good reason to give this software a try.

Another comment mentioned the download size between 2 of the suggested alternatives - one was almost twice the other. I haven't seen a single comment that mentions whether this giveaway produces small files, large files, or something in between. Again, another reason to at least give this software a try.

You do not need any software to download youtube videos.
Just go to keepvid.com, enter the youtube url from the video you want, choose the format you want to download, and voilá, it is just this.

SE= "Special Edition"=Crippleware=Feature-Limited.- Pass. Giovanni- I would highly advise NOT installing Kastorsoft,as it comes bundled with Conduit Toolbar,an Abysmal Malware,Adware,Browser re-direct PITA to remove ,even with JRT and ADWCleaner.Combofix,if necessary. All of these aforementioned cleaners are free, just Google it. Reason I mention this is- KastorSoft is distributed by Conduit,Ltd. Re: Conduit-see here: http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/kastorsoft-Toolbar-35122-program.aspx Numerous Malware scanners detect positives. Also, stay away from Replay Video Catcher /FreeCorder by Applian Technologies-the freeware version installs NASTY Browser redirects( WhiteSmoke /Claro search Toolbars),etc.,etc.Another difficult PITA to remove. Not trying to be stodgy,I almost ALWAYS appreciate your input, particularly regarding Freeware that does the job.I will mention Eagleget, does not catch or sniff ALL videos. Bigasoft Video Downloader, somewhat clunky, again, does not sniff all vids. The built-in video player needs work (( 4:3,16:9 ratios, etc. )..........)Off-topic,IDM (Paid) does a VERY good job sniffing vids... fastest downloads I have seen. Not all, however. MY 2 Cents worth-Everyone have a great day !!!(PS-if I have left any good FREE Malware-free video sniffer /downloaders out, please point them out to me--- I always appreciate fellow GOTD commenters input !!

Just a comment about DownloadHelper and EagleGet: Downloading the movie 'Jenny and Juno' in .mp4 format from YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGJO0Djp_CM, with DownloadHelper the file is 196 MB and with EagleGet the file is 304 MB.

Frame height on both is 316 (frame height=resolution); all other details listed in properties are also exactly the same.

Not a showstopper, but interesting.

There are plenty of programs that will handle YouTube. It's those programs that handle everything else that are hard to find.

I see a few issues with this GOTD.

1. Why use a .exe (MS Windows only) when all downloads can be done within any web browser? The Internet being OS independent, I find developing this kind of software with such limitation a waste of time in all senses.

2. No updates means that with the next youtube change (and it happens rather frequently in the hope google finds a way to monetize youtube) you'll be out of luck. Some Firefox extensions already can't follow the pace, or they're not very reliable.

As for downloads having size of a 0 byte, I don't know why this happens but I found a Firefox extension that overcomes the problem.

3. That's me, but framework 4.0 is a no-no. I don't want to install in my XP box a clumsy, unsecure and already obsolete crap. Besides, knowing that most updates are about security issues, all XP users will never benefit from them very soon.

Any software using unsupported OS (components) should not be installed.

easiest way to download videos from youtube ?

go to keepvid.com and just paste the youtube address page of the video you want to download. it will list all the available formats and resolutions the video is available in. then click the one you want and presto.

it won't convert videos but let's face it, unconverted videos look better anyways. plus more and more videos on youtube are in HD or higher resolution, so why bother with crappy conversions ?

my 2-cents for today, now back to my coffee...

Registration required using an e-mail address just to get a link to the registration. After registration it still didn't appear to be registered since only YouTube was accessible. And there's nothing in the program to indicate that registration took. Going to registration again just asks for the serial number again.

Browsing around the links in the program it appears MyTube6 use to be Cliprecorder and the YouTube-only version is the free version of it.

I normally use the FREE Net Video Hunter Firefox plugin. It gets not only YouTube but anything that will allow it. And since it works from within the browser I download whatever I happen to have watched, so if I decide I want to keep what I just watched I don't have to bring up another program.

Tried it, removed it.
First I had to reside to a new disposable email since the one I use wasn't accepted, so I bet you are to monitor your spam folder from now on.
Then I tried to download a small youtube channel: the link wasn't accepted and the program stated that either the video was gone or the content was offensive.
No clue what this software is doing, but at least it's nothing that can't be found for free (less hassle, more functionality).

Not another Youtube downloader! And a PAID one?

"Youtube-DL" is a free and super simple to use command-line app and it's cross-platform. Works on Mac, PC or 'nix.

http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/

It is fastest one I'v found and it will show you every resolution available for a particular video and let you pick the one you want. I've tried many others both free and paid and this is the only one I use now.

So far have used YTD Youtube Downloader by GreenTree Applications.
Very good for Youtube videos.

Have used Wondershare AllMyTube and Aimersoft Youtube Downloader. Both are excellent and able to download from a large number of different video sites.

About this software.
scans the whole YouTube and shows you as many results as you like at one glance. With one click, all desired Videos will be put in your MyTube 6 SE download-list – with the next click, you download them on your HD.

The MYTUBE 6 advert blurb says
Download millions of videos for free!

But I do not want 10,000 Youtube videos to download at one go.

My hard disk cannot hold 1 Million videos that MYTUBE 6 claims to be able to find.

I just want to be able to download a few specific Youtube videos.
The search feature within Youtube itself will help you to identify videos by a particular contributor. The seasoned contributors have playlists anyway.

Hi GAOTD
This is a good program and I like it in total, especially the beatiful, well-organized interface and the nice icon and skin (these things are important for me and greatly affect the way I judge the software I am using ).The colors of the skin are nice and in harmony with each other as if the skin was created by an experienced artist, this is very important for accepting the program.
Anyway this is always what one can expect from most German software companies.
Downloading a video can sometimes be slow but the quality of the downloaded video is very good even when it is not a HD video.
Moreover, the sarch function of the program can accept languages the letters of wich are not Latin letters as for example Arabic, Hebrew and Russian, of course provided that the user has the relevant keyboard software.
However, this giveaway version offers only a one-year license.
If you hit the "Registeration" button, the program does not tell you that it is registered, thank you, but asks for the serial again and again.
There is a free version of this program which practically has the same functionality as the one offered here.
This is not one can expect from a German software company.
Thanks GAOTD.

Ok, it works but as this is a restricted version it's usefulness is somewhat limited. After making a few attempts to search for some obscure stuff I know exists on YouTube it failed to find anything I asked for, it did however find a few videos with similar names but totally unrelated. Verdict: Okay, but not for me.

Regardless of the pros and cons, you're seeing Microsoft's planned obsolescence at work here.
This programme works on ... Windows XP (SP3)/ Vista/ 7 /8. So if you don't have the latest, then you're plumb out of luck.

I assume possibly wrongly that MSN have made XP(3) and Vista and 7 & 8 so that old programmes will not work.

and the corollary that programmes written now that Will work on Vista 7 and 8 will not work on older versions.

Point to MSN, but the game is never over.

Engelmann Media is long-established but that doesn't mean it has a stellar reputation. Today's giveaway doesn't do either it or GOATDers any favors either: it's a one-trick YouTube downloader that isn't $21 at all (that's the retail sticker on the full version, not this stripped-down teaser.)

Seeing as how there are dozens of YouTube / general video downloaders out there, both free and paid-for, it might seem hard to make a choice. The answer is only choose software of this type which has the fastest development updates -- otherwise you're going to find yourself stuck with an obsolescent pile of junk thanks to YouTube's all-too frequent coding changes designed to stop downloaders from functioning.

Currently, there's only one app which, because of its massive user base and one-click user reporting facility, manages updates as fast as the changes YouTube implements. That app isn't any of the commercial video downloaders, rather it's the entirely free EagleGet, a download manager that handles everything -- not merely YouTube but all video websites, as well as every other kind of download, too. If you're interested, run a quick search on Startpage (using Google isn't something I ever recommend.)

Up against freeware EagleGet's formidable competition, it's hard to see what Engelmann Media is trying to achieve with its full-price product, still less this non-reinstallable one-trick pony it has put up here today. Thanks GAOTD but no thanks.

Comment #1 - "This is not a straightforward downloader...." - was a dealbreaker for me.

I've used Flashgot for ages; it works on nearly any website, all you do is right click on an icon in the status bar while the video is playing, select the format and quality from the pop-up menu, and the file is downloaded.

Not really impressed by my first few attempts.

I attempted to add a number of videos that the program decided did not exist, despite them playing through a browser with no issues.

I then found a couple of HD videos to download and was able to add them to the download list.

After checking toe boxes against each and then hitting the Start Download button each of the videos was unchecked, the progress bar went straight to 100% and there were files created of 0 bytes.

I have tried repeatedly but it is very much a hot and miss for me, so uninstalling.

This is NOT my Tube 6 but my Tube 6 SE.
It can only download Youtube videos, no other portals supported in this version.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit system.

A German company with name and address, as it should be for business partners.

The program wants to start in the setup always the IE. I denied, because I work with other browsers and the setup did finish without problems.

A non standard interface opens. It tells you immediately that you can only search on You Tube (like the title suggests). For other platforms you must buy the "Pro" version.

I made a search for "slow cooker", Hey it's Sunday and I need some recipes for this evening... "slow" cooker.

You can select how many videos you want to find, 10, 20, 50 or 100. That's all and insufficient. How will I find a video, which is not in the first hundred hits? Why not select 400to500? But okay. You see a preview and you can watch directly in the program window this video or download it. I tried to download the first video : "not available", then the second. The download is extremely slow for some unknown reasons. I will not blame this software.

You can afterwards convert the video to many different formats for many different devices. The settings are usefully and the conversion finished the job without problems.

The program is self explaining and makes a good impression.

MyTube 6

Millions of videos can be found(1) on video platforms on the Internet. MyTube 6 enables the user to load web clips from these platforms to the computer or to convert them into MP3-music for long-term archiving with a few easy steps.

The highlight: All video portals are searched simultaneously(2) using one search term. The result is available quickly and clearly at a glance. Favourite clips can be managed in different play lists.

(1) Now let me calculate... If I have time to watch 50 downloaded videos in one day. How many years would I need to watch 1 million?

(2) Ooops, "all" video portals, is one equals all? In this standard version : yes.

Does what it claims without fuzz, easy to handle
, but restricted to the first hundred hits! Will not keep this. Google finds with the keywords ["slow cooker" "you tube"] some eighthundredthousand" hits, and yes, it gives a preview also.
