I have USB Debug On but the program does not connect, nor do any of the troubleshooting or tips on the developer's website solve the problem. I expected that the program would offer to connect via WiFi, but it does not look like that is an option.

I also have Mobikin for Android, which could also not connect via USB. It does offer the connection via WiFi method through their App. When I downloaded the Mobikin App, a message indicated that it was for an earlier version of Android (I have Android 10). I have checked the developer's website but do not see any reference to a different App, and there does not appear to be any information that explains what Android versions the current App is for.

I do have other programs that can connect via WiFi so transferring files to the PC is a pretty easy option, however, they do not offer a Recovery tool. I really looked forward to testing out the Recovery function of the MobiKin Doctor.

I wish the developer had been involved in today's online comments. I believe it would have benefited MobiKin, Giveawayoftheday, and all the potential users.

Hello Gary,
This is MobiKin Support Team.

We're sorry that the Android Recovery can only connect via usb cable currently, it doesn't support connecting via Wi-Fi.

The apk is only used for connection, the old version won't affect the connection, please just click OK to ignore the prompt.

If you still have the connection issue, you can send the screen shot to support@mobikin.com to show us where you stop, we can help you check it, thanks.

I have an SD card that was formatted several years back for an android phone I was using at the time.
It was formatted for that phone. I am unable to access the data on the card now. The cell phone at the time stopped working for whatever reason I don't remember and it's not important anyway. The thing is, I have a bunch of pictures on the card that I want access to.
Will this program work to unlock or bypass the security for this SD card?

Diana Hickey, if the microSD card was formatted so it became part of the internal storage and not FAT32 or exFAT then it was a special encrypted filesystem that is not accessible in any other devices card reader. It was tied to that particular Android device and will not be accessible in any other context without specialised high powered encryption hacking software which you will probably not find in the consumer software field. So no this software will not be able to access the data on the encrypted microSD card.

If it is formatted as FAT32 or exFAT or even unencrypted ext4 then conventional deep scan with a windows based file recovery program would likely recover something, assuming the card is still electrically operational.

It is even possible if the card was integrated into the phones internal storage as an encrypted microSD card as initially described then it is always possible the microSD card failed electrically and that then broke the android phone as important parts of the Android system would have been migrated to the microSD card and if the card fails or is removed the device would require a factory reset to restore its normal operation! I have had to do that and decided that the convenience of having the card integrated was just too risky as the sockets and the cards are just not designed to be failure free.

Appreciate the give away but I wish this was purely an Android backup program similar to MyPhoneExplorer. There are far too few of those.

My "Xiaomi Mi 4i" had problems some time ago so I gave it to some phone repair guy to fix it but they hard reset the phone and with it all my pics and vids got lost!
is there a way to restore them with this app? did anyone use this before?

Mal, think carefully of the apps on your phone. I've know several folks who lost "Everything" only to remember they had amazon prime, dropbox, or other cloud software / provider software running in the background they had long forgotten about and were happily able to find many personal files out in the byte universe. Best Wishes.

Joline, true. Both Xiaomi and Android have backup services if you go for that option. I have mi max 3 and have both backups.

Joline, great advice... occasionally I look at my cloud providers and think wow I'm suprised at some of the forgotten photos and files ;)
