I have fully investigated my PC by Malware Hunter Pro 1.127. The program has found four files that are suspected. For me, the 'false positive' are because the files of Windows are. I have removed the program.

Walter Tyler, Many antivirus/malware programs report false positives a great deal of the time. Even today, Microsoft Edge stated that the 2 files I downloaded were suspect and did not want me saving them. Seems like we have to be the teachers for "machine learning"

How does this software compare with Malwarebytes? Does anybody know? Because that's what I use now.

ruvi, Malwarebytes is the best, I would never switch! It has saved me numerous times!

I have run setup exe, gone to the page, gotten the activation key emailed to me and nothing else has happened; nor are there any instructions of what to do next. The only thing installed is a Software Informer Client

Is this a hoax?

Reply   |   Comment by Donna Vizco  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

Donna Vizco, No, it's not a hoax. Try to extract the downloaded zip-file to a folder with the same name. You can use 7 Zip or Win Rar for the purpose. Then you'll get the installer file for the program and the key for the program - OR instructions how to get the licence. Good luck, I hope my poor English helped you a bit.

Reply   |   Comment by Allan F  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Allan F, I have unzipped the setup exe file to a folder with the same name (without the .zip extension):
unzipped it to MalwareHunterPro11274-la10au which now contains 3 files: readme.txt Setup.exe and Setupgcd. I then went to the provided php file link to enter my email address and got the key sent to my email.

HOWEVER, after that there is nothing for me to click as I am stuck in the Software Informer Client that only allows me to look at what it does. There is no way I can activate, no way I can do anything except look at illustrations of what the Software Informer Client does.

Reply   |   Comment by Donna Vizco  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Allan F, I cannot even close the Software Informer Client without resorting to a reboot, I suspect

Reply   |   Comment by Donna Vizco  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-5)

Allan F, Finally I found the missing step which was contained in the php site. As soon as I clicked to email the activation key to my email addy, the instructions disappeared into another message.

Step 5: Download the Malware Hunter Pro

So, I have now successfully in stalled it.

This might serve as info for others who were missing the final step of the instructions.

Allan F, This is NOT poor English; it is better written than many things written by native speakers! Congratulations.

Reply   |   Comment by Andy  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+19)

Donna Vizco, Inside the folder you found the 3 files, and that is exactly, how it's meant to be. In the "Read me" text file, there is an ip, how to get the licence. You can copy that and insert it in your search engine. Then you'll get an e-mail with the dl link. There's also a "Get key" box. Double click that one, and you'll get an e-mail with the registration key.
I'm afraid, you've only installed the "software informer", where you should have installed the EXE for the actual program. It's a rather simple procedure, but as you know, there's a first time for everything. Btw have you checked in your programs list, if Malware Hunter is installed? I ask, because, it's in the end of the procedure, the gaotd site asks you, if you want this software informer installed at your pc. I hope, you get along, because you'll be happy for this little extra layer of protection. Greets from Denmark

Allan F, There is no IP address in the readme file. There is, however, a URL that you can copy and paste into your **browser's address bar**, which will take you to the glarysoft site to get your license key. There's no need to run the URL through a search engine.

Reply   |   Comment by Nunya  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Nunya, As far as I recall, I mentioned, English isn't my main language. Anyway, most important is, It was understood by Donna, who was asking for some support. Thanks for getting my grammar better ;-)

Reply   |   Comment by Allan F  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Allan F. The comment I replied to made no mention about English not being your main language, but it wouldn't matter anyway. Your English was close to perfect. Your only problem was not knowing the difference between an IP address and a URL or a browser address bar and a search engine. And your grammar was fine, too.

Reply   |   Comment by Nunya  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Nunya, Thanks a lot. That difference will help, if there's a next time, I write in English/American to offer some support. Sometimes people just don't care, even it's obvious, a fellow user is stuck in the process. Your explanation is just easy to get, and I'm happy for knowing how to express a bit of support in the right terms. I live in a tiny country, and it's so important to know at least English/American - especially when it's about computer stuff :-)

Reply   |   Comment by Allan F  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Allan F. I'm glad I could help, but you've done an excellent job of learning and writing English. There's no need to apologize for that. Congratulations.

is this an anti virus program?

will it cause problems with other antivirus software?

Reply   |   Comment by karen  –  2 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

karen, No, It's not an anti virus program as such. It's an extra layer of protection for your existing antivirus solution - and can be run together.

Downloaded & installed on Win10Pro with no problems. I had a previous version already on the PC & did not uninstall. Got the key per instructions, entered it and it is up & running. I did not have to deactivate my antivirus and it works fine with it. I've used Malware Hunter for several years now and run it several times a week & seems to do a thorough job. I would recommend adding it to your security suite as handy addition.

EDDIE,
mfc90u.dll errors could indicate a registry problem, a virus or malware issue.
Have you tried installing in safe mode
