Installed it and registered with serial provided, and that is all. The program will not start, looks that it messed up my network settings ( my networked is not recognizable, but usb printer is detected as a network printer) tried to uninstall it, I can not do it, Hope that I will be able to return to the state before I installed this.

When I try to install the software, firstly a message tells me "Connecting to giveawayoftheday.com. checking giveaway availability. Then another message tells me "Failed to Connect". What should I do???

I've read about the slow-down on computers but didn't believe it. Removed avast from my computer, installed malware hunter pro and changed some settings. Turned my computer off just to check the slow-down issue but waited first - have more things to do lol. Turned my computer on but didn't find any problem. My computer was even faster that before!

Here are my problems with this software:

1. It bundles optimization features with it which can cause problems with your computer. I had my computer registry get messed up because of these options. After that I couldn't even connect to the internet.
2. The updating of the software fails (but not the updating of the virus definition database). It does not show the database of definitions with a date stamp / time stamp . Malwarebytes Anti-Malware lists how many definitions are in the database and the exact date and time of the database.

I had it installed for a few days and it messed up my computer so much that I will not touch it again!

Downloaded and installed this morning. Ran the scans. The program slowed my computer to a crawl. Uninstalled. Very disappointed.

kowtaaia@yahoo.ca,

I'm afraid I have to echo your complaints. I have a fairly new computer, which I built myself, so it doesn't have that many programs on it. It slowed my computer down so much that I had to shut down with the power button four times after it locked up on me. I really didn't want to, but I absolutely had to uninstall it because it was pointless to have a computer that wasn't operational with this program installed. After the uninstall, like magic, my computer is back to it's old self - speedy as ever. Sorry Glarysoft. I have another program of yours, and I have no complaints about that one at all, but I simply can't run this one on my computer.

Downloaded and installed with no problem. I'm a fan of Malwarebytes but willing to try this free for a year because I'm also a fan of this company's products. Thanks, GOTD and Glarysoft!

Keep trying to install, and when I open the program and hit "activate now", it goes to a logon page and won't recognize me. Then it does and wants me to buy the program, even though it shows I have one already. Now what?

Installed with no problems and runs as advertised. I have been using Glarysoft Utilities for over 20 years and install it on every computer I build. I think it is the best all around utility available for keeping computers problem free. I have been using the free version of Malware Hunter for years with no problems and no malware on my computer.

Glarysoft apparently doesn't submit or provide Malware Hunter Pro to AV test sites, or to publication sites like PCMag[.]com, so there's not a lot of info online about whether it's any good or not. Google came up with one review from a site that I'd never heard of, and Googling the site itself, I guess most people haven't heard of the site either. The review was positive, noting that Malware Hunter Pro uses the Avira engine, which gets good, though not top ranking at av-test[.]org.

av-test[.]org/en/antivirus/home-windows/

Some comments ask about running Malware Hunter Pro along with other security software... maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything on the app's page or web site that suggests Malware Hunter Pro is designed to be used alongside another security app or suite. And generally it's not a good idea to run 2 security apps/suites.

blog.emsisoft[.]com/en/29265/do-not-run-multiple-antivirus/

Alternatives...
Windows 10's built-in Defender now gets top ranking, & in the US at least, you can find most top brands of security software for around $10 per year, or less, on sale. If/when you buy a license for a year or two you don't have to use it immediately, so you can pick it up on sale, then wait until your current subscription expires to use it.

Ok, I did eventually get the link to the actual installer on my second attempt that included the license and the program activated (which also required me putting in email address), very confusing process just for an installation. Thanks GAOTD

Downloaded and installed on both PC's, no problem. ( win 8.1/win 10) However, this is good for one year only, until 09/17/2020. Had I realized that I might not have bothered with it.

Installed...got key....all went well...EXCEPT when I looked into my account it said BUY ...,yet when opening Malware Hunter it shows everything is okay. Why isn't my "key" showing in account instead of BUY???
I have used Glary's Free Utilities for years and am happy with it.

Comes bundled with PC Booster.

Reply   |   Comment by Massie  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

frank, It is rather annoying that it gets installed as a separate application and it doesn't seem like it can be uninstalled without uninstalling Malware Hunter.

Reply   |   Comment by KK  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Massie,

It's not a separate piece of software; it's part of Malware Hunter. If you don't want it to run go to settings and uncheck "Enable PC Booster."

First off you have to give your facebook or email info to get the download link.
The download file is in a zip file so you will need winrar/winzip or 7zip (I use 7zip as it is free).
You have to manually find where the zip file is downloaded to if you don't know.
Open it and run the setup.exe file which will run the gaotd time limit checker so you have to be online
when installing this program.

I did all that a page popped up and says this:
Malware Hunter Pro 1.87 activated — what next?

After that you have to go to this page:
https://www.glarysoft.com/giveaway/index_mh_gotd.php
click the get my key now button after again entering your email information
after receiving the second email you get sent ti glarysofts web page where you are required to
make an account. Did that, another page opened:
https://my.glarysoft.com/index.php/ucenter
which says License codes

Malware Hunter Pro 1 Buy now
click that link, you'll see this:1 $24.97

I didn't get the program, nothing was installed, had to give my email twice,
and all I'm going to get from this is more spam mail.

Tried to get a registration key, and after 4 hours it never arrived, The web page would not let me try twice. Tried the customer service links, and they did not work. If getting registered and contacting them with a question don't work with the company, the quality of the software they make is also questionable to me. I pass on this,

Dave Baker, I have the same problem.

Really, if it is so hard to GET the programme in the first place, naturally you're gonna doubt it can be that great a programme. Because it simply should NOT be so darn problematic!

Too many programmes from GOTD seem to be reported almost every day, to be having problems installing.

Since by now "almost every" PC is using Win10 (although, I for one, wish I was NOT!) it can only be THEIR software -- or Microsoft's OS
which is causing the problem.

My bet is that it is more often Microsoft's fault....

Dayna, I have noticed some email providers "bounce" emails sent to them..had it happen a few times on main email..so used my Outlook acct and went straight to my spam folder. Don't know why providers do this as it's frustrating.

Kim Olsen, Ooof. I'm sorry to hear that. I got rid of BitDefender a few months ago and my PC has been running so much faster. I used them for years and swore by their service, but I could no longer tolerate how user-UNfriendly and sluggish their 2019 revision was.
