"The client is not always right" Enzo Ferrari
Guys from Kybernetiks, do not listen to these people who write badly.
I really like this software. Everyday I look through a lot of news sites. When they are all in the autorun - it's just a fairytale. Quick notes are very useful when you need to quickly write down a phone number or something else. And the other functions of the Kybernet are also interesting. I do not use arduino, so what. Maybe someone else likes it.
Thank you! Good work, do not stop! I believe that you will create a good product.

Dean, Re-read the quote it says "not always right", implying that most of the time they ARE right, just not always!
Also consider how many customers Enzo Farrari has, not many compared to most other vehicle manufacturers so I don't rate his opinion on customers that highly!
I don't think you mean what you are writing because if you did you are telling the guys from kybernetics not to listen to yourself as you have writen that sentence and most of the rest badly, yourself!
Most modern browsers can auto-launch last used tabs or accept multiple URL's in a browsers home page to always launch one or more favorite pages when launching the browser. There is no need for 3rd party programs to do it instead.

TK,
This software is able to run sites, documents ... regardless of the type of browser. And I can easily transfer it to another computer. I'm currently using a Firefox, I have not found such functions in this browser. Kybernet allow to do this in few clicks. I do not need to understand the intricate interface of modern browsers. For me it's more comfortable, than use some browsers with their incomprehensible settings.
Enzo Ferrari created an excellent car. He was an outstanding engineer. About him films are made, books are written... His company still exists, many years later. I think that I need to listen to the words of great people. And not anonymous commentators.
With all due respect. You just don't like Kybernetiks. You come here and anonymously try to scold the software, over which people worked. If you do not like this software, why are you trying to convince other people not to use it, too? And you even find the time to sit and write badly about this software.

While not too bad of a software (other than looking a bit bland), it is a bit too late unfortunately, as both Google (Mail, Contacts, Calendar) and Microsoft (Outlook, Tasks, Calendar) offer all of these things today. Windows even has Alarms and ways to automate opening websites, etc to check your Weather, Stocks, and so on.
This software would have been great 15-20 years ago... Sorry to say

Hello StillonXp,
We appreciate your feedback! Of course, the difficulty is not to create a program, but in order to understand what people need now. That's why we're here.
We really appreciate your opinion and want to move forward according to your wishes. But people do not say what they want. Wee see a lot of non-constructive criticism. People cling to small errors that can be easily corrected.

Kybernetiks, I'm sorry I did not state what could improve the program. You are right!
I just felt bad that many companies have already done many of the things seen in your helpful program. I was saddened that you may not see many customers when your program is indeed helpful.
Some ideas are:
- option for more images (your look is clean but a bit boring, allowing a user to customize the interface would help)
- email addition (check email for people, so they don't have to open browsers, etc)
- website summaries (checking stocks, websites, weather, etc have it all in one window, a summary of some sort, versus people opening many tabs in browsers)
- Calendar options (have a choice maybe, of a Simple Calendar and a Detailed Calendar where people can see tasks planned for that day, in a summary, but if they want details they can then add notes and finer details to the tasks)
Just a few ideas, your program isn't "Bad" by the way, it is just that I think it might be too late to bring in such a thing that is helpful in this way. That made me sad, so I commented on this.
Perhaps it may still happen though... If you want to keep working on it, Good Luck!

1 - Kybernet has trial period. You can try it for free. Also if you don't needed some functional, just don't use it ))
Also we have free File Encryption app. Please look at video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXBeSXRqqac
Perhaps you will like it.
2 - You can always write to us. support@kybernetiks.com
3 - You understand, people in this world do not work for free! I think, that you do not provide your notary services free of charge! Developers take money for their work. And not small money. We need to sell the program, and not give it all the time for free. We have already lowered the price to the limit of the possible.
4 - First Iphone is a unique product. That's why people so like it. At the moment, the android is gaining popularity. Because it has more flexible functionality and a cheaper price. But the developers of IPhone still love their product. Therefore, we are trying to add to our program a lot of different functionality, which is easy and simple to use and set the low price of the program.

Kybernetiks, you say you have a free file encryption app, and initially it does look like that but on your page:
http://www.kybernetiks.com/fileencryption.html
It clearly has a link to "Buy now $3"
And it says:
"You will get program installer download link after payment will be accepted. "
Which is right you or your website?
Also any idea why you are distributing a debug build of FileEncrypt32.dll and FileEncrypt64.dll instead of a release build in the installer on your home page?
It asks for VCRUNTIME140D.DLL and ucrtbased.dll which are normally only present on development machines and not normaly installed on end users windows machines!
And two different file manifests!
And no product name or file versioning or any other relevent information embedded in the DLL's or executables either!
I guess you are going to get all upset at me having the audacity to look at another of your programs and asking questions here where you cannot censor them like you can on your facebook page. Sorry I don't do facebook. Well you brought up the other program in your comment I would not have looked if you hadn't publicised it here yourself.

Even being charitable, it is hard for me to see any real utility to this, after just watching the (slow) video into.
Time is money -- if it takes too much time to apprehend the use and advantages of such a programme, I am afraid I will bail out very quickly...
Anyway, if I ever change my mind, it'll only cost five bucks to get it any OTHER day....
I mean, really, what is it even DOING here?
Sorry if I am being overly-critical.
I am sure anyone who feels it is very useful will jump in and tell us all what is so good about it.

I note on the Arduino Device control form it only lists bluetooth com 1 to com 20 my blutooth com ports extend to above 50! so if I add any Arduino devices they will be allocated even higher com port numbers that this program will not be able to see them. Also there does not seem to be any option to disable the auto running of this at system startup. Nor option to disable an update check.
Oh and it installs without error on Vista SP2 so take the system requirements with a pinch of salt. From the build data in the executables they should not run under XP and should report that they are not valid win32 executables. But should be able to be uninstalled under XP if it does install but not run under XP SP3
The notes are stored as plain text files in the program files heirachy in a sub folder called notes in the programs installation sub folder called kybernet_settings so don't expect any fancy text formatting or multi-media support in notes.
In addition because it uses discrete folders and text files for notes it cannot cope with note name collisions AND a big oooops is that it lets us specify illegal file or folder name characters in the notes name field, for example "?" or "*" or "\" or "/" or ":" or "|" it silently accepts the illegal characters and then silently fails to create the required illegally named files or folders. Moderator make sure the developer/vendor sees this comment as it needs fixing. It's a really basic input validation check that always needs to be done on any input being used to create file and folders in windows or any operating system with file/folder naming restrictions.
It also let me navigate outside the folder the notes were supposed to be in by entering a note title of "..\..\a note name" as a note name! a trick that on websites allows code injection if the websites are not properly secured

TK, thanks for your insightful comment/observations on today's software, you have obviously done your home work and since there no other comments (just now) I have one quick question ... Is this, in your opinion worth downloading or a waste of time?
Save | Cancel
Robert, it may be of some utility IF you are an Arduino developer, for sceduling controllable Arduino devices subject to the observed limitations on bluetooth com port addressing previously mentioned.
But other than that I don't see the other functions as mature enough to be safe and usable. If a developer doesn't have the experience and forsight to validate strings before creating file and folder names it does not fill me with confidence that the same developer can properly impliment AES-256 file encryption and decryption and secure password managment.
It doesn't apear to have broken my windows vista so feel free to try it if you want just be aware that this is at best a public beta test and at worst an untested alpha-build. Don't use it if you don't know how to fix things for yourself if things go wrong as it just might!

TK, Also I encrypt a TXT-file and decrypt it.

Ootje,
I don't know if this would make a difference for your installation, but on the product's Homepage (via link above) it says the following (which is not included in today's GOTD installer package Readme.txt file):
Dear friends, please notice - for correct installation you need to run installer with admin permission. Push right button on installer and select "run as administrator" option.
This is necessary for the correct installation of shell extension libraries (FileEncrypt32.dll FileEncrypt64.dll). That will allow you to encrypt files by clicking the right mouse button on it.

Dear friends, please also write your wishes on our facebook page. So that we will not lose contact with you!
So that we can improve the program, according to your desires.
Hello TK,
1 - usually 20 com ports more than enough. But if you want fifty, we can do it.
2 - People never look at this recommendations and always try to install programs. It does not play a particularly important role.
3 - Please tell us, what text formatting are you wish? It's a quick notes and you can attach files to it. Also, as notes are just text files, you can always copy them and use them in another program. So we do not bind users. They can easily transfer their notes to another program, or to a mobile device ... etc.
4,5 - These are not big mistakes and we will fix them in the near future.
We are grateful to you for your interest in our program and your feedback.

HMarx, In Win10 I did another test, now with admin-rights.
And all went OK with the encryption.
No altering in extension's.
But I think, that the first time I made a mistake. I did made a copy of the encrypted file and decrypted the copy. And I think that is the cause of the fault. Me, not the program

HMarx, vista and above will ask for elevated rights when running an obvious installer such as setup.exe so we should get a UAC prompt to give it elevated rights or not, unless you disable UAC prompt altogether. When I installed it, it did request elevated rights. It's also necesary to be able to put any files and folders in the program files heirachy too.

Kybernetiks, I respectfully disagree, it can issue scheduled Arduino commands but that is not all it does so if you are not using the scheduling feature you should be able to disable auto-run it should be a user setting. Also update checks should be optional as not all licenses support updates so why look for an update if our license does not cover free updates?

Kybernetiks, I suggest that instead of providing a finite list of possible com ports that you enumerate the currently installed/allocated com ports on the host system and offer those, windows apears to support an almost unlimited number of bluetooth and USB com ports so it makes more sense to me to just determine what's already been installed as discrete devices and offer them alone.
Yes I saw and tested the attachment feature and forgot to comment on it... The icon used to signify an attachment associated with a note is not correct, that is an icon to signify pinning a note to a desktop rather than have it floating and movable. The conventional icon/graphic to anounce a file attachment is a paper-clip graphic.
I already have a comprehensive notes making program that I usually use for organised information storage AllMyNotes it's been a regular giveaway over the past few years and just recently we had the latest deluxe edition given away. I personally would switch from using a plain text model to a rich-text format and editor object. Also include full clipboard support within the editor/viewer GUI. You should not really put user data in the \program files heirachy, they belong in the user appdata\roaming heirachy for global data that should be in the \Programdata heirachy.. If you put the user modifiable data in a standard user accessible location like users\username\Appdata\Roaming\kybernet\* then you probably will no longer need to run your program with elevated rights all the time!
Also Ootje mentioned what looks like a design flaw in the encryption/decryption of a file in comment https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/kybernet-2017/#comment-568914
That apears that there is inconsistant renaming of the file ext to append "-encrypted.encrypt" to the original file ext but on decryption just rename the ".encrypt" portion away but leave the "-encrypted" part of the changed file ext which of course leaves an unrecognised filetype name that will not have any program associated with it to open the decrypted file. Note I have not tested this myself but have no reason to doubt Ootjes report of the apparent bug.

Hello TK,
There no scheduled tasks for arduino. You manually manage arduino.
1 - Autostart is needed to run on a schedule of websites, apps, music ... etc. It is also needed for reminder messages. And for hot keys. Half of the program's functions require autorun. Even to work with notes. To start the dialog to add a note by pressing hot keys. And to work with passwords, it is inconvenient to constantly open the program.
Convenient when Kybernet is at hand all the time in a couple of clicks.
2 - Checking for updates is needed in order to notify people about new versions and bug fixes. Regardless of the type of license. Maybe someone will want to buy the program and use the new features and receive updates.

krypteller, I use spybot search and destroy teatimer and that monitors for changes in things like startups addition or removal and gives me the option to deny the change if I want. I also use sysinternals Autoruns to manually tweak the various autorun locations.
Yep windows would grind to a halt like android does if you have thousands of programs if all the programs acted like android apps, all near constantly fighting for cpu time and system ram to do whatever the developer seems to want them to do all the time in the background.
AllMyNotes also provides a user setting that can be changed any time the program is running whether to start with windows or not which all good programs that might need to start with windows should have.
Though I would have chosen a command line interface for scheduling so the Arduino commands could be passed to the program from a windows scheduled task, and avoid an always running pair of programs and doing so one could schedule one or more arduino commands to take place even when no user is currently logged in! To me it makes little sense to re-invent a scheduler when a very powerful one is already included in every supported version of windows unless I was adding something that just could not be done using windows scheduler. Which this isn't.

TK and other guys,
Maybe you don't understand us clearly.
We try to implement the functionality of the Kybernet so that any actions are committed in a few clicks.
As example: to open facebook you need push on app icon, select "keep password" section and double click on website, you wish to open. And then put your login and password into login field. As you can see on the video. Thus, this does not require laborious operations. And it's safer than storing passwords in the browser. And you can always easily edit them. They are encrypted and you can always make backup. Therefore, for this program is so necessary to be in the autorun.

TK,
It looks like you want to find fault but do not know how. You carp at trivialities. You don't like icon of attached files? This is ridiculous!
Increasing privileges is not for notes. It's needed to work with files (file encryption) and to release AutoRun function. The program should be able to start and close other programs. Also admin privileges it's needed to register shell extension dll.
There is no problem with changing the file extension! We register our extension in the system. And associate all the encrypted files (-encrypted.encrypt) with our program. And change their icons to "lock"
If you don't understand this. Please, look at video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXBeSXRqqac
Hope, you have 1:21 minutes of Earth's time.
We are tired of repeating. You can use what you want. If you don't like Kybernet notes, don't use it.
In addition, if you so clever to use sysinternals utilities. So you can see, that Kybernet don't take a lot of memory. And the fact that it is in memory does not slow down the work of modern computers at all!
You're trying to find fault with something, but your arguments are unfounded! You are misleading people!
The program works well! And minor mistakes we always eliminate.

Kybernetiks, well if you want to waste your time and reputation defending the indefensible instead of taking constructive criticisims by an unpaid alpha tester on board that is your perogative do not worry I have uninstalled Kybernet, it is too confused in functionality and implimented without some of the basic understanding of windows program development.
Nope I don't have 1:21 minutes earth time further to waste. The only issue where my comment may have been inaccurate is the inconsistency in the encrypted and then decrypted files renaming which apears to be a product of the installer not requesting the desired permissions to install properly. The mistakes which you call minor should not have occoured in the first place and certainly should have been spotted and rectified before public release let alone commercial release in my professional experience. I am dissapointed that the program is unable to issue scheduled Arduino commands, if I want to automate windows application scheduling ther are already plenty of options that can also record mouse events within specific windows and play them back at scheduled times. I thought incorrectly that you had a unique selling point, I was wrong, sorry. Windows includes built in keyboard short-cuts in case you did not know!

Dear Mr. / Ms. TK,
You do not have time to watch the video in a minute and a half, but you've found time to write such a long comment.
Your claims are unfounded. We answered to all your questions and you decided to find fault with the fact that you did not like the icon of the attached files.
Are you a tester? Then explain, why you do not understand why the program needs enhancement privileges?
Yes, there are mistakes in the program and we try to eliminate them. If you are a tester, then you probably know how much of bugs are in Windows systems, since version 3.1 People are not perfect, they are inclined to do some mistakes. Even rockets explode.
We simplified the interface as much as possible. For example: you can add your favorite song to autorun for a couple of clicks. It is a pity that for you this interface is very complicated and incomprehensible.
We are trying to improve the program according to the wishes of the people. Some people, as you can see above, write their suggestions for improving the functionality or adding a new one.
You grabbed a small mistake and inflamed this to scandal, which scared off a huge number of our potential users. How you think, any company needed tester like you? Even for free.
We will not lose our reputation. We constantly communicate with our customers and always correct Kybernet, if something does not work. Smart people understand that you are just trying to make bad P.R. to our app. Perhaps you are our competitors. Therefore, you write here comments under the mysterious nickname TK. Kybernetiks, ok you have some serious issues you need to work on but I have already explaind why you are bound to require admin access in order to run your program and that is because you installed user data files in a location set asside for admin write access by installers.
BTW if your program is running with elevated rights does that mean that any instance of programs that you spawn with your quick launch system allso spawns with the inherited elevated rights or have you taken steps to reduce the rights to normal user rights? If you spawn programs with inherited elevated rights and spawn programs like web browsers with elevated rights then that is a serious security issue!
I must admit I am tempted to re-install your program to test to see if spawned programs do in fact inherit elevated rights putting an entire computer system at greater risk but from your attitude it is apparent you will not accept constructive criticisim when it refers to embarassing errors. You can test it yourself or dismiss the hypotheticaly possible error report if you have ensured all programs are spawned with LUA rights and no admin rights.
I don't have time to waste watching marketing videos for a program that does not do any job I need adequatly.
I found several mistakes and only one of them was a minor confusing cosmetic mistake in an icon, the rest were significant errors that any modern professional developer should not have made.
Yes windows has errors but I don't consider microsoft windows an example of programming best practice.
And neither would any experienced 3rd party developer .
I would choose tools written by developers that choose to design out errors and properly test programs that are not paticularly complicated compared to an entire operating system and the collection of support programs.
In addition many of those windows bugs that get patched monthly were designed in for the sole purpose to permit their nations intelegence agencies to gain surruptitious access to end users machines and data when needed and get patched only when the designed in flaws are discovered by 3rd party members of the public and threatened to be made public knowledge.
An example developer I suggest you study for design ethos you would be wise to emulate can be found as the owner of http://www.grc.com (That is not me and I do not have any affilations with him professionally, commercially or personally apart from being an end user of the web services and offline applications he has chosen to supply)
I am using a nick name, as are you, mine is a nick name that I have had sine the 1980's I do not use facebook, I do not have a facebook account as I don't need to waste time and energy on that flawed marketing platform, I have never complained about the user interface of your program aside from lack of startup with windows or automatic update check user controls, I think you are confusing me with someone else or thinking I am posting under a different name... Just because you have answered questions by saying you will fix it in the future that does not make the bug report unfounded it re-affirms the bug reports you have answered.
By the way are you so naive that you think that every account on face book is a genuine individual whose idenity is 100% accurate and traceable and that people don't create multiple facebook accounts and pretend to be other people, other genders and can play all sorts of games with fake identities.. same on twitter, some companies even buy friends and followers on these social media platforms to fake popularity!
You have not addressed the bug/design fault of you putting the notes heirachy in the program files heirachy, to further explain why that is a wrong thing to do in addition to the reasons already given concerning access rights, in case you are not aware but Microsoft windows is a multi-user operating system but the way you have designed your program every different windows user account gets read/write/delete access to the same notes AND to the shortcuts and other settings including passwords! Is that good? I don't think it is.
ALL my observations have been entirely objective, I have zero vested interest in your application or any competing applications, you are begining to sound clinically paranoid!

TK, We have already told you. Raising the rights to the administrator we introduced with the advent of Windows 10. This is necessary to be able to encrypt files. Have access to them. And also to start and close other applications. Also these rights are necessary for the installer to register the shell extension libraries.
For the user, no role is played where the program settings are stored.
If a person writes comment from Facebook. Immediately you can see this is a real person or not.
You are very insane on safety. In the modern world, telephones, cameras, face recognition ... etc. Complete anonymity can only be if you live in the forest. If the special services need to find you, they will find you. Even if you are not on Facebook. If it comes to that. Then you need to stop using the Windows. Where the organization of applications in memory allows to exist buffer overflow errors.
We have written about this many times. Yes we made some mistakes. We correct mistakes and go further. Like as many other people in all around the World.
If you have zero interest to our program, then why are you writing here? Why are you trying to convince people not to use our program? You have no time to watch the small video. But you have time, it's about three days, come here and write bad comment about us.
There is no logical explanation for this! Except for one thing: you are our competitor.
We were reminded today that we need to treat our customers with respect, even if they writing all kinds of nonsense.
Therefore, we apologize if we have offended your nature. You can buy our program. And we will make an icon of attachable files, which you want. ;)))

Kybernetiks, if you spawn web browsers and other executables with admin rights you are creating irresponsible security risks for your users, it means any bad website that exploits a browsers or browser addons vulnerability to run arbitary code will be running it as an adminstrator and not a restricted non-elevated user bypassing most of windows security layers, if you think that is good then you as a developer are best friends to the criminal hacker as you enable them to hack your customers computers accounts take full admin control over it!
Why am I writing here and responding to your foolish opinions on computer security and program development? It is because you chose to publish a badly designed and badly written security risk of a program publicly here where tens of thousands of people could be adversly affected by using your program in its current form. You admit you have made mistakes but as yet you have not fixed the mistakes, you said you (will) fix them but until then giveawayoftheday.com visitors are exposed to a badly written and designed and security defeating program, I and others have recognised this and post here to warn others of the risks in using your program in its current form.
Other developers that have done giveaways in the past with serious bugs like yours took the issue seriously and fixed the bugs on the same day of the giveaway and re-issued the new builds installer, you did not but seemed to think that just by saying that you fix it at some point in the future that it made everything that was broken and dangerous to use online all sweet and acceptable. It did not! With the number of significant bugs and security vulnerabilities you should have apologized and asked giveawayoftheday.com team to stop the giveaway untill you could fix all the bugs and design errors and then seek to re-run the giveaway.
But you did not, you got offended at being told about the bugs in this public comments section where you chose to publish your buggy largely untested program.
I very much doubt I need to buy your program to get the attach icon fixed, I expect I could do it myself by editing the files embedded resources. But for your program to earn any space on my machine in the future it needs to be professionally private alpha and beta tested first!
As a programmer you have a duty of care to respect the security measures present on users computers and not program to defeat them. You have a duty of care to keep one windows users data seperate from another windows users data. It is a solemn responsability to build code and have it run on other peoples computers, it is not a joke and you need to start taking what I assume is a potential career in application development seriously!
Until such time as I see any sign of that in your dealings I'll not be consider you a developer of worth but an amateur playing at coding with no respect for other people or their computers or their private data.
Have you fixed all the design and security flaws and bugs yet? No I didn't think so... have you even started on it yet?
