The activation code had to be typed is as copy & paste didn't work. I'm trying to test a YouTube video, but copy & paste doesn't work. I have to type the URL for every video download?
If you accidentally type an incorrect URL, the download crashes with a JavaScript error.

Fred, Hello, I am a Geekersoft technician. You can paste and copy normally when troubleshooting here. Can you send your operation process to support@geekersoft.com? I will help you connect and troubleshoot the problem in detail.

I have downloaded, extracted the file, and typed in the code, but i can't get it to accept the URLs using 'copy and paste'. Is it just me? Is there a solution?

Is there a list of the approved sites where you can download videos, or do you have to just visit random sites until the program decides to allow you?

Jon651, I tried YouTube and Xvideos, but neither would let me download from them and GK Video says it supports them. I do know if your registered on Xvideos. They allow you to download using your Browser by clicking on the download button on their website,

The software works as intended, however does not let you chose what is downloading in the background, I'm afraid some copyrighted material can be downloaded by accident. You should also know, that your IP address is recorded at the web sites you are downloading the videos.

I couldn't find a list of supported sites at geekersoft.com, but the vast majority of streaming video downloaders can handle any streaming video that does not have DRM -- there are a couple that can handle DRM, e.g., StreamFab, for sites like Netflix etc. (C) is a separate issue... every video online is copyrighted. Your post on this page has (C), along with everything else you see here. But the (C) owner has to be willing to prosecute or take action, e.g., take down requests, for any alleged violations of any laws, whatever authorities, including for example the platform itself, have to be willing to cooperate with your request, and there are also fair use exemptions that vary country by country. [AI scraping the web is becoming a (C) legal minefield]
RE: your IP address, every site you visit has your IP address -- it has to or you would never receive a web page in your browser... it needs the IP address to know where to send it. The only way to disguise your IP address is to go through an intermediate server -- a proxy -- that forwards you requests & all replies, e.g., using the TOR browser passes your traffic through multiple anonymous proxies without logging. That said, if you're worried about your IP address, you *might* be more concerned with your MAC address -- there can be hundreds [or more] PCs / laptops at a given IP address, but the MAC address is unique for every device.

To add to what I said earlier about copy and paste. Now it seems you can't copy and paste a link into the software for video downloads. Are at least, I haven't found a way to do it. If that's true, this is a deal breaker for me.

Heads up! You can't copy and paste the Activation code. You have to type it in using capital letters. A major pain in the rear, since I got it wrong the first time. The company was started 2 years ago. That said, most web of trust websites say it's safe to use.
