Direct 2 Drive have a 50% off Atari sale on at the moment. The following games are included in the sale. Amongst them some very good titles. You can find them all HERE
Test Drive Unlimited 2 - was £14.95 now £7.50 This was a bit of a flpop when it was released a few months ago; mainly because it was fukll of bugs. Still, I personally really enjoyed playing the game. The only down side for me was that most of the open world was actually locked. To open area’s up you have to complete specific challenges, some of which are quite hard. The original Test Drive Unlimited was open from the start of the game and was one of the reasons I loved that game. The second game includes a remastered version of the original, but that also has to be unloacked. Great graphics and you can play single player but still see other players in the game world riding around. I wasn’t keen on that initially, but it added another dimension to the game.
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut - Was £14.95 now £7.50 This is an excellent RPG with enhanced graphics (was originally released in 2007) as well as some new content not available in the original. I haven’t played it much, but only because I have so many games I never get around to returning.
Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Nights 2 Platinum - Was £12.95 now £6.50 This is another RPG, which IMO is better than The Witcher, but that’s just personal preference. The game includes both expansion packs as well.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum - Was £12.95 now £6.50 Fantastic and fun Tycoon game. This is one of my favourite Tycoon games. Once you’ve built your fun Fair you can walk around it as a customer and go on all of the rides. It’s several years old now, but still looks excellent. I’d love to see an enhanced version of this made with the latest game engines.
Hank Haney’s World Golf - Was £14.95 now £7.50 I’ve not got this game so can’t comment.
Codename: Panzers - Cold War - Was £16.95 now £8.50 This is an excellent WWII tank rts game. If you are familiar with rts games then you’ll know what the game play is likely to be like. This is one of the more recent WWII rts games and has superb graphics.
Tycoon City: New York - Was £14.95 now £7.50 I really enjoyed playing this game. It is an easy to play city building game with some novel ideas, unfortunately mine keeps crashing after a few hours game play and I’ve not been able to progress. I don’t know whether it’s the game or my system that’s at fault.
Champions Online Gold Membership Pack - Was £14.95 now £7.50 I think you may require a monthly subscription for this game. I steer clear even tohugh the game looks really good.
King's Bounty: The Legend - Was £19.95 now £9.95 Another nice action rpg with excellent graphics. I see this one on sale over on Steam frequently together with it’s sequels. The noral price over on steam is always £9.99..
Alone in the Dark - Was £14.95 now £7.50 If you buy this one play it in the dark and get creeped out. A really good action horror game with fantastic graphics. Well worth buying, especially if you like horror. :)
RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2: Combo Park Pack with Wacky Worlds Expansion - Was £14.95 now £7.50 I think RC3 Platinum is a much better deal and £1 cheaper as well. Still, this is also a great game, though you don’t get the FPS viewpoint that you get in the third version.
ArmA: Armed Assault - Combat Operations - Was £14.95 now £7.50 Fantastic game. I play the sequel ArmA II virtually every day. This game is a s good, though being four years old now the graphics aren’t as good, but still brilliant. You have a large land mass that you can explore with villages, woodland and grasslands, hills and valleys. Amazing game, from the makers of the original Operation Flashpoint. It’s not a run and gun game like Call of duty, but a true military sim that the military use in a different form you play as a real soldier, so bearing that in mind, if you don’t use tactic to get complete your missions you won’t survive. There’s a wide variety of weapons and vehicles you can use in this game. There’s an excellent tutorial as well as an armoury that enables you to sample all of the weapons and vehicles in game (though you still have to unlock them). There’s a single player campaign, or you can play missions singly or if you prefer play online. I’m so into this and its sister games I’ve got to add the features:
•Story driven singleplayer campaign: by choosing the right mission order when playing the 20+ mission campaign you write your own history. Play it differently next time and find new ways to victory!•Large scale multiplayer: battles where tanks supported by infantry and helicopters take control of an enemy city can be played with 100+ living opponents in a role of both friendly and enemy forces.
•More than 30 weapons: a new and improved recoil system gives unique firing characteristics to every weapon.
•Vast environment to explore: an area over 400 square kilometers in size, full of flora and fauna is ready to be explored at your command.
•More than 30 modern vehicles: all vehicles in the game can be controlled - tanks, armoured vehicles, helicopters, airplanes, civilian cars or even boats.
•Multiple gunners: utilize the multiple gunner positions on tanks and helicopters to rain death on your enemies both in multiplayer missions and singleplayer campaign.
•HDR Lighting effects: ambushing an enemy with the sun in your eyes leaves you at the disadvantage. Think smart, fight better!
•Real constellations and tides: ArmA's great depth even includes such features as fully simulated star maps, lunar cycles and tides. Watch where you park your vehicle, soldier!
•Built-in mission editor: create you own scenarios using the easy-to-use mission wizard, advanced built-in mission editor, scripting language or BI tools available online and share your creation with the game community.
I’m not sure whether the game includes the expansion Queens Gambit that adds more missions and new equipment.
Steam have only just had a sale on ArmA II which was actually cheaper than this game. I’d consider checking steam rather than purchasing from D2D because I’ve seen it sell for less.
Haunted House - Was £9.95 now £4.95 This is an excellent family game, that has a Sims like quality to it.
Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Directors Cut - Was £14.95 now £7.50 I’ve not got this game so can’t comment. Thinking that I may purchase it, but not sure whether I can afford to at the moment. :(
RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2 - Was £14.95 now £7.50 As with my comment above RC3 is a much better deal IMO
