I want to take virtual image of my # 1 computer and put it on a 2nd computer I recently got. so If I install this Paragon Drive Copy 9.5 [ DC9 ], and install vmplayer, or sun's virtual box on the 2nd computer, and have the image on a external harddrive hooked to # 2 after making the image on #1, will vmplayer or virtual box mount this image on 2nd computer which doesnt have the dc?
I just want to know if I have all the software needed with DC9, and one of the above.
this way if this works, I dont have to change anything on 2nd computer, I can just use the image of #1, which has all the programs etc already.
question about Drive Copy 9.5 Personal Edition and other software needed

heck, I'm wondering what (unspecified) 3rd party software it takes to adjust the copy so it'll boot off a drive with a different drive geometry. (different make, model, or size is all it takes to cause real trouble!)

hey goodgotd, it shouldnt matter about the HD, otherise use would be very limited.
I am going to try it with vmplayer I guess. right now trying to clear enough room on a ext Hd for the image.Posted 13 years ago # -
I got a 500 gig SATA drive on a card that should be bootable- and I tried for a week with several programs to migrate, and failed. I got the 'different geometry' explanation from one of the techs I bitched at.
