Quick note to see if anyone has a work around. Last week's giveaway of SoThink SWF Quicker shows up in my uninstall as 3.4.0.9271.1.
Is this somehow unique issue to my install?
Or do others have same numbers showing up too?
Not that I am about to uninstall SoThink. Haven't really used it enough to make a decision.
I was actually going to uninstall something else using Revo. Saw the mysterious name/number. Traced down to find out it is SoThink.
Now I would like to change name from above number to actual program name. Not unistall, just change uninstall name.
However, neither Revo nor control panel- programs & features - unistall will let me change the name. Right click only brings up uninstall options, not usual name change option.
Anyone have any idea how I can correct this name in uninstall/Revo so right program name show up rather than meaningless (build #?) numbers?

Hi, JohnC,
to your first question: yes my Revo shows the same cryptic number.
Sorry, I don't have more help for you, don't know if and how to change this. :(

Although I don't have the same problem, here is a solution:
Use CCleaner! ( http://www.ccleaner.com/ )
With it, you can rename the entry in the installed programs list. Note that renaming the entry doesn't uninstall or do anything to the program itself. It's like changing the name of an item in a restaurant menu - doing so doesn't change the recipe for the dish in the kitchen!
To rename a program:
1. In CCleaner, click the Tools icon at left.
2. It should show the Uninstall screen (If not, it's the top button on the left of the list)
3. Select the name of the program you want to rename from the Programs to Remove list. Now click Rename Entry (second button on the top right of the list) to give the program a new name in this list only.
The documentation page for this is here: http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/using-ccleaner/uninstalling-programs
Thanks to the Vistaheads forum user Bill Daggett for helping by giving me hints to find this!
