This has been occurring off and on for quite a few months, john. A 502 almost always indicates that your server can't handle the load. Either there's a glitch that GOTD hasn't taken the time to figure out or doesn't have the staff to devote the time to it, or they just haven't invested the money in updating their equipment or increasing their bandwidth. (With out seeing the books, we can't begin to guess at GOTD's true financial state.) GOTD doesn't really like to admit when their having problems, so this is all just guesswork, but we've accumulated a fair amount of evidence from observing this over the months. It seems more likely that they haven't been able to get out from behind this 8-ball, for whatever the reason, but not that they don't care. Sigh! It's one of hand full of annoyances that sometimes have long time members shaking their heads and wondering. Grin and bear it is the only advice I can give you and hope that GOTD doesn't one day stumble it's way into oblivion.
