Well, if you missed all the amazing deals on Steam amd direct 2 Drive last week, you may still be able to get many of the games that were on offer becausDirect 2 drive now have a 24 days to Christmas deal, where one game each day is being offered at a great price. todays game is mirrors edge a game i think will interest most gamers. If you have any problems using the keyboard and mouse due to disabilities this game isn't for you as you do need reflexes for certain parts of the game.

I've already posted about this game near the end of the Steam deals we had last week, so i'm not going to repeat myself. This game can be bought for less than $5 at the moment which, considering the game was only released earlier this year and received critical acclaim, its an amazing price drop. Definitely a suerior game in my opinion. I loved the game so much i've bought a second copy so that i can play it any time on Steam. (I find I rarely play my DVD based games these days, so thought the price was perfect for a second copy. i'm more likely to boot the game up now its on steam, so the uneeded purchase will be useful afterall).

Wednesday/Thursdays game is either Majesty 2, a fantasy rts game, or Witcher an RPG. You can get it for 75% off the usual price of Majesty 2 for only £8.95. This game was only released several weeks ago. At the time of posting there is 19 hours and 50 minutes left to go before the game changes over to another one. The Witcher was game of the year in the year it was released.

The US Deal is 50% off The Witcher for $19.95.

I'm not sure whether US citizens can buy the UK deal and vice verca for the UK citizens buying the witcher, because I've not tried buying either of these games; (already got both of them). You may be able to buy both , but some games have been restricted to either the US or Europe.

tnip, there are two different sites one for uk and one for us.

Majesty is listed as available world-wide while Witcher is only available for North America.

P.S. I edited your first post stephen to include the link for the UK's side.

Thursday Fridays deal for the US is Need For speed: Shift, probably one of the best Need for Speed games so far. The game adjusts game plays AI to each players own level of skill, so if your like me and always do rubbish at racing games , you no longer will. You do a practice, which then adjusts the rest of the game play to come in line with your skill. This give you a fighting chance to become champion of champions. Not only that the graphis and game play are brilliant. For one day only its 50% off at $24.95. Tomorrows game is going to be Command & Conquer: Red Alert III, though no price has been quoted yet.

On the UK side todays game is still Majesty 2 for justover 1 hour, then it will change over to The Witcher.

Bioshock is available for 50% off on the UK page for £9.99 and its Command & Conquor Red Alert III on the US side. The US side change in four hours for Prototype (a really cool action game). The UK rolls over in just over 10 hours.

p.s an excellent rts game called Empire Earth III is less than $5 for a limited time only. Empire earth III is the latest iteration of this game and was released late in 2007. A great world domination rts that takes you through the ages from mans early history righ through present days to the future. Well worth buying for this price. I prefer it to the Age of Empires games.

The US side has Majesty 2 on sale for $7.50 a reduction of 81%; it was only released last month and retails usually for $39.95, and on the UK side you can get Torchlight anothe r recently released game for half price (£7.50). Tomorrows game on the UK side is Section 8 that was also released last month; it's a good looking Unreal Tournament clone that looks amazing. (I've been playing it off and on since it was on the Steam five day special last week) I don't know what the US game for tomorrow will be yet. The UK rolls over in 21 hours and the US in 15 hours. From the small image they show you the US game looks like one of those Roman rts games, but I've not worked out which yet, lol

nice find wizard and thanks.

I gave up after about 45 minutes of searching 15 on D2d and 30 on steam. My attention would kind of get captured by the videos on games on wanted.

It amazes me that that both places dont put in more game play in their videos instead of that junky commercialized crap. I know they would sell more games.

The next one on the UK side is Machinima, the point and click adventure from the creator of the browser game Samorost. This game was recently gifted to me by a fellow giveaway member. Its got gorgeous graphics and sterling puzzles to solve. Well worth getting at half price.

As for Mercenaries 2 World in Flames, a great game that I've got to re install soon. Its got a Grand Theft Auto feel to it with you being able to hijack any vehicle you want. Great game play and graphics. There's even motorcycles to steal lol. Some of the environment is destructible as well. The game has an open world, but to progress you o have to follow the mission plans. I've only ever got past the first few levels simply because I loved to wander around. :)

Tomorrows game on the UK side is Rome: total War; I've not figured out what the US game is going to be, but the cover looks familiar.

I'm starting to think they are taking out the games for the day, so no one gets it. I look for streetfight, but couldnt find it, yesterday and I see 2 of them. One is the prima. Well see tomorrow.

I though it wa sBF2 as I reckognised the image, but it wasn't on the front cover of either my original BF2 copy or the dDeluxe version I';ve also bought. Anyway. the US side has Battlefield Deluxe, which contains both the original game plus the Special Forces expansion, it also advertises that you get the two booster packs Euroforce and Armoured Assault, but these are given free when you install the latest BF2 patch v1.50.

On the UK side is Rome: Total War Gold which includes the expansion Barbarian Invasion.

Tomorrows games are on the UK side Need for Speed ProStreet (released November 2007) and the US side has a picture of part of a Dragon, but I've not worked out what it is yet. lol

I got it. It is Dragon Age: Origins . I just happened to see the first bit of a video playing before scrolling down and it showed that dragon breathing fire.

That is the game I have been playing for the past 2 days. Wow it is a sweet game. I thought Divinty 2 was awesome, which it is, but Dragon Age has been really cool. I need to work on the keyboard layout a little, or I should the mouse layout. I don't like it.
Still a great game, just makes it hard for combat.

Steams new game is out Counter-Strike: Source for 5 dollars, guess that's like 2.30 euros. I am just guessing the euros. the only bad part with this game it is multi-player only, but it High definition.

I pre-ordered the deluxe version of Dragonage: Origins on the strength of their pre release videos, but to be honest I've not been able to get into the game yet. I've tried playing it several times but have found it hard going for some reason. In all honesty I've found Gothic 3 much more enjoyable and that was released around the same time as Oblivion. I never bothered with the Gothic series but when I saw Gothic 3 had just been put up on Steam I grabbed it and have played it a lot more than I have Dragonage and I've only had it for 3 days, lol.

I was hoping Dragon age was going to be the next generation Oblivion, but it seems to have regressed graphically. Still, I'm only going off the beginning of the game. I'm not going to put it in the bin just yet, lol

I feel the same about Multiplayer only games. So far I've purchased two multiplayer only games. Lord of the Rings Online and Red Orchestra. I've never played the Lord of the Rings version as I discovered after I'd purchased it that there was a monthly fee which I'm loath to pay and Red Orchestra I've only played a couple of times with one of the friends I gave a free weeks worth of play to. I've not played it since, so, although I really fancy buying counter strike, it would probably be throwing money down the drain. Still, it is a bargain.

If you fancy playing online games of this type Americas Army 3 is free and its just as good. I'm sure it has cooperative play included as well. The only thing with Americas Army, you have to pass several basic training modules before you can play the game, and, if the game is the same as earler versions, until you've completed the Special Forces training you are limited in the weapons you can use. I used to play it with a group of online friends virtually every day for over a year. We had our own private server so avoided the problems you get with players who wouldn't play the game properly.

you probably got irritated with the mouse controller layout to without thinking about it.

The beginning part you are talking about, were it pauses you- it stops doing that thank goodness or I would have given up on it too.

The layout i'm talking about is, it is all a right click system for the most. I have gotten in to keys yet, but i dont think they have hot-key targeting system.

I hate to see you waste 50 bucks or I guess 30 euros on a game.

On the other subject- The only reason I can see buying the counterstrike game is if we all started playing it here, but why would we do that when we have L4D or even team fortress.
Heck I've been trying to get into playing those with ya'll, much less another game that I have to buy the basic game to practice on seperate.

Finally spent some time playing arma2, witcher , and call of duty MW.
My verdict is Call of duty is a blast, witcher is pretty fun, and I wasnt that impressed with arma2, but I havent given up.

On to my real subject, talk speak of the devil, steam is offering- Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 for 5 bucks US and also people that Killing floor are able to give away 2 free guest passes that last 3 days.

Plus some free mods for both games.

I have a ton games so its no biggie, but if no asks or you cant think of anyone to give the key to pm a key. That last guest round was over before it began, by the time chance to play it was the last day.

Hi Txnnok,

I'm surprised you think ArnA II wasn't imnpressive; however there is a steepish learning curve to get full satisfaction with the game. It's nothing like Call of Duty 6, which you can jump into right away and have a blast, but I find once you've played that game its done and dusted. There's no difference playing the game a second or third time because the game is very linear and leads you from the start. There's nothing wrong with that. It gives you a brilliant game, but ArmA II has a lot of hidden features that you need to spend time on and discover. If you're a run and gun sort of gamer, ArmA II may not appeal as you need to play it almost like you were a real soldier. Personally I think its a brilliant game, with open environments that you can explore and a lot more re playability than any Call of Duty title. :)

I though Red Orchestra was a really good buy, but no one in the giveaway group has it apart from me,(though I've not checked any new members steam games list so I may be wrong on that score). I've not played it since the first few weeks I bought it. There are some excellent free mods for the game which add loads of extra content. Well worth the money being asked for. To be honest I'd much rather play Red Orchestra than Half Life 2 Deathmatch. I must warn you though that when Gargoyle played it with me it brought back memories of her childhood during the war which upset her greatly. Excellent game play. Let me know if you buy it and we could jump into a few maps sometime soon. :)

You were right Wizz, todays was Sims 3 though they are only knockig off 25% (lol). Tomorrows will be Medieval II: Total War on the UK side and on the US side it is also The Sims 3 today. Not sure what tomorrows game is though I seem to recognise the small image. will have to search through my games in the morning. Got to finish off tommorows game giveaway review yet.
