Giveaway of the Day Forums

   I want to review the programs that have been offered on the site - but I've found it extremely difficult to find a list of day-by-day giveaways.

   I can't find a quick-launch program I believe I've seen offered free. I believe this is UNFAIR to the sponsors - that they effectively disappear immediately after sponsoring your site for a day. I don't find that ethical or good business sense. Or helpful.

   The search function is particularly obtuse - it just shows programs made available by advertisers. Huh?

   How can I easily - without clicking through every day on the year's calendar - find a list of past GotD programs?

   not quite, there is a loophole- when I was digging for 'my audio studio' I found that if you skip back (or forward, if you went too far) by month on the link at the bottom of the calender, the resulting page shows roughly the last 10 days of that month's giveaways. fwiw.

   if you can give me part of a name or timeframe (and if I checked that day-I've missed a bunch lately rebuilding my core computer) I can probably find it fast and easy through my dvd-r catalog.

   if it's one I downloaded, it's cataloged, commented, dated, and thumbnailed. feel free to pm me.

   you are right, it is not very helpful and you are right that the search function is rather annoying - however, it's not unethical, because the developers, GOTD's business partners, know how the project looks alike, they don't get false information.

   or, if you want you can go by Google Site Search and enter http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ and search for "This giveaway is not available any more" and get a list of all program gaveaway pages with that notation. ought to be most.

   I leave narrowing the search to quick lau.... heck with it enter "This giveaway is not available any more" quick launch into Google Site Search and there's all of 4 pages to look over.

   sheesh. what, me google?

   That better enough targeting 4 ya? :)

   Thats how GOATD makes money is you coming back day after day to make money. It isnt set up to advertise for the those companies that programs are being giving away. Their advertising is that that day and that day only.

   Also if I'm not mistaken, doesn't GOATD pay for all those license given away each day, so why the heck would they want to advertise for those companies to with no incentive.

   Yes, GOTD pays for the licenses, the programmes are not a gift from the developers.
   When you want to review a programme, that means you have installed it - so why not just take the date of the installation and skim through the calendar to just that day ?
