I really like this software I downloaded from Giveaway Of The Day, but today it somehow decided that it is not registered anymore - how is this possible.
I would really like to use this software, but what can I do?

Hi Hermione mine is still registered. It seems, that something went wrong as you installed it. Sorry for you. Go back to the GOTD site of that day Icon Toy was actual, I'm sure there is a suggestion for a freeware tool. Good luck!

I always save the extracted folders. This one didn't have the reg code in the read me, but you had to activate before you installed. Then you ran the installation. If you saved the folder you might try running the installer(setup)again. Do not run the activation key.
Mine states user name: "giveawayoftheday" and then it has the serial number already imputed.
Hope this helps!Suki

Hermione
I just tried it with a different program that I got from here, that would not load into my taskbar and my shortcut had disappeared. I found the folder and it had the installer separate from the activation key. I ran the installer again(despite warnings from my system)and it worked. I know have the program back and it is still registered!
This does not help me with another program Typing Assistant that will not load to the taskbar either! It does not have a separate installer, so I will have to remove it, as when I click on the desktop shortcut, it says it is running! I can't disable it via the help file, as the ctrl+alt+f12 to disable/enable does not work!
Hope you saved that folder!!!!!Suki

hello, suki...
instead of disabling Typing Assistant, have you tried killing it with Task Manager, then restarting?...
i had the no-tray-icon problem with IntegryDesk w/Vista ( worked great on XP )...after i fiddled with the settings---killed it with Task Manager, changed the compatibility mode in Properties---the icon appeared again...
maybe some fiddling & you won't have to uninstall?...

Thanks Violet4714
It doesn't show up in Task Manager. I have XP also and have no problem with Integry Desk either.
I did kill it,lol, I removed the damn thing! It was causing to many problems when I typed in passwords with numbers in them. I took it off because my husband uses my computer for banking(which is scary in itself)and would cause a lock down of the account. I had to take it off his pc too, lol, poor guy is always asking "what's this"! It's still on my Laptop, but I don't use it that much. It was fun at first, then became annoying!
It's nice to be able to grab the giveaways, but there are allot I wouldn't pay for.Suki

you're welcome, suki...
it shows up in my Task Manager processes...odd, huh?...
you must've gotten a bum copy!...at least you killed it good...
at christmas, i installed a copy of "Blobby Volley" on my friends pc...
her husband is also forever asking what something is...between her, the three kids, & everyone else adding things, it's a real wreck...lol...
better luck next time...

I ran into this as well. I read the directions before installing, but it has flipped to unregistered on both my XP machine and my Vista machine.

If you saved the unzipped folder, try running the installer again(do not run the activation key)!
This worked for me with Magnifying Glass Pro(which had the installer separate)!
Since it was activated first, the installer saved me!
If available I always create icons and save them to my Tech folder, but this time my icon showed up as the folder, lol, don't know why. So I was able to restore the icon and the program. Best part of all, because the installer is separate, I was able to restore the program and it's still registered!
graylox, like how you blocked the reg key! I don't think it would work anyway, since I think they would detect that. Although it would be up to the Admins to let these people have it.Suki

Mine informed me just yesteday that it unregistered, and that I have 3 days left to use it. I thought I had done all that was necessary, but seems I didn't. I have it on both of our computers; so far I have gotten that message on only 1 of them. I looked on both computers for the folder with registering info, but couldn't find it. I did look back in the GOTD archives for that day, and found some freeware subs to try - http://update.docs.kr/entry/Download-Shock-Desktop-en looks most promising.
