I'd lay odds something else running has msvbvm60.dll (visual basic 6 runtime) in use and locked. Kill everything you can and retry.

Well IMHO he needs installing those VB6 runtimes or he may be running vista and needs elevated user rights.

Don't know if there's a connection, but when I installed Driver Magician, and then I had it update my drivers... but now I keep getting an irritating pop up saying "auto adjust in progress" for my monitor! I then went to Dell and downloaded their driver for my monitor, and it's still doing that! Anyone got any ideas on that? I did a google search on it and someone suggested the Dell d/l but that didn't work.

Copmom
I'd suggest:
1)Shutdown and restart your computer.
2)Still having problems?
You may need to rollback the driver of your monitor.Posted 16 years ago # -
for me it was 'couldn't find' so I loaded it off the
lan.Posted 16 years ago # -
ok, the laptop couldn't rename- something else, same error- I told it ignore- the file's already there, and drove on. works fine

Thanks Robert.. I did a reboot, and then also did a system restore to yesterday's date. When it first turned on it showed that black box that said Auto Adjust in Progress, but so far, I'm now waiting to see if it pops back up again.
Three of the items that Driver Magician did updates on the drivers were ATI (which is my monitor), Radeon, another thing for monitor/display, and several "creative" things, which have to do with audio. Now we'll have to see what happens!Posted 16 years ago # -
I wish you luck copmom!

Just checking in, it's been 3 hours, and so far, so good, that box hasn't popped up again, yet!
