Hi dsekirka
Startmenu X is running just fine over here on my 7 home x64.
Well that is all things except for the "Virtual groups" that are acting a bit funny. It also takes them too long to display the grouped items- even if there are only few to display(matter of seconds really but rather annoying)
Virtual groups appear to be a Tidy Startmenu reloaded.
I'm sure you installed and ran the program as an administrator.Normally it should display itself showing an icon the system tray area when you chose to run it at startup or whenever you launch it manually.
I don't think there could be a problem with the Windows 7 DEP settings if they are turned on for essential windows programs and services only.
(type "advanced system" in the 7 search box - launch advanced system setting - performance - DEP to verify)
You could also launch the "event viewer" to look for the windows applications error logs.
Of course any file monitoring program could also prevent the program from running if you didn't allow Startmenu X to run.
Startmenu X works great on a windows 8 x64 preview. And no problems with the "Virtual groups" on that one.
All in all I'm quite impressed with Startmenu X Pro and its programmer Dennis Nazarenko.
