As BuBBy said, that's not normally an option -- It's like the idea of shareware itself, to try before you buy, only the GOTD is not limited the way most all shareware apps are. Simply put, if it's worth keeping, it's worth paying for. I know that may sound heartless, but there's really no way of doing some sort of means testing, so those who truly cannot afford an app can get it for free -- I can't work so I really, Really wish that there was.
OTOH, while I don't want to give anyone false hope, some companies/developers do make allowances, either on a one time basis or by providing apps & registration that can be installed anytime -- if there's something you really need to have & truly cannot afford to buy then there's little or no harm in trying to contact the company/developer & asking. The worst they can do is ignore you or say no, & it may be worth your promised vocal support for them to say yes.
