I just got an email from PopCap Games that it is now a division of EA. They'll be merging product offerings and databases no EARLIER than Jan 2, 2012.
Will this be another case of Sandlot & Digital Chocolate? I hope not!

Thanks for the heads up, Dragonlair - sounds interesting.
What'll happen is they screw that company up like they did Playfish. Lousy tech support, lots of facebook versions with excessive real money only items.
What I find interesting is this article from June, EA Launches ‘Origin,’ Downloadable Games Service, in which the "experts" say "oh no, Origin won't be a competitor for Steam or Gamestop", and in November we have this article, Electronic Arts Origin Goes Up Against Gamestop, EA Stock Looks Too Plump, which say "oh yeah, Origin is a direct competitor to Steam and Gamestop". Continued acquisitions by EA/Origin support the latter version.
Well, that is certainly confusing - so what else is new?
