I have a question about program. Desktop Icons take memory as they are now does this program make them use more memory or the same if icons are changed?

The biggest problem i see with FolderIco is that how to install icons is missing. Also what is the purpose of tooltip? Documentation is sketchy and not available via a ToolTip -- rather iconic. another problem I see is that there are no client based icons and the icons are clunky like 8 bit gifs.

I am unable to install Folderico because of failure to close File Explorer automatically. When I abort my pc hangs and I have to shut down and restart. I have Windows 10. Any advice about how to overcome this problem?

Ottawan, I would recommend checking Windows Update. it is possible that you have one in the queue. If that doesn't work try the WindowsUpdate troubleshooter. Finally use the Install Troubleshooter but it does something like something funky on your side. Win 10 x64

Excuse my ignorance but how do you close it before you activate it? i went thru the task manager and can't find it, but it does show as an option when right clicking a common folder.

FJL, the right click options reside in the registry. Does not mean the program is running in the background.

That does not mean, that the program is running.
That operation is called "Send to:" in Windows.
In short it means, that the selected item (or link to that item) is send to the program in the menu.
Here it means, that the selected folder is sent to the GOTD-program for alteration.
The program will start at that moment for action.

A bit the same with a doubleclick on a text-file(.txt): then notepad will be opened and will open that text-file.
There is a Sendto folder in Windows and it is poosible to make ypous own items in the menu of right-click of the mouse.

Looks like the same as last year and worked fine.
This time I notices something strange. The program was set to Distributable.
And I altered some icons of maps.
When a map was copied in Win10(where the program was installed), the icons were not copies:

Activation does not work. Uninstalled, reinstalled, again nothing. Stays at 30 days trial version...

Here I installed the program and let it run. And closed it.
Than I run Activate and started the program again.
I did not see 30 day's trial, but the menu of Help was changed:

FJL, I id use the program and closed it normally, with Alt+F4 or the red cross.
And after that you can use Activate, but that is a tricky one, because of Themida. Maybe you have to pause your antivirus for that moment.

Laxative, .. Use Folder Colorizer .. it does work with XP .. not sure if 2.0 will and they used to have a free version. You can find it easily. They charge $10 for lifetime license for 2.0 PRO version.
