To Fubar - you shouldn't worry, these filters are not registered in the system after the installation, so this installer won't screw anything up.

As usual, no one reads what it says it's going to install before installing it. I don't have a camcorder, but if I do buy one, it will be high-definition, so I thought I'd take a look at this. It installs Mainconcept H.264 and AC-3 codecs. It's the H.264 decoder that displays a logo. My MCE installation is already damaged from multimedia applications which install crappy codecs and screw up DirectShow filter merits, so I aborted the installation.

Nice Program, I don't know what the problem is for #7 but I copied and pasted the S/N# into the activate box and all was well. So if I am correct this will make HD into standard SD miniDV. Could be nice especially when I shoot HD but ir is going over the web I can change it so my edit render tine is cut, thanks GAOTD!!

This is only for Sony and Panasonic cameras. Lucky me I have a JVC (Everio) that already uses the DV format so I can burn a DVD and play!

I downloaded this, but it is of no use to me.
My digital video cameras record in MPG format and converting from MPG is not an option with this program.

Thanks for the giveaway though.

Your site also 'attracted' a lot of well resourceful and helpful readers by introducing alternative of similar softwares or products for other online readers to 'choose' e.g Free wares resources.

Despite a small amount of 'unprofessional merchandise' (not contribute by genuine contributor)I am still really impress and like to say that this is the best site that I ever get to know. Please keep up your good work and keep many of us 'occupied' (new games) and 'feeding' more knowledge too. For sure you have save us a lot of $$$ too. :)

Okay, I got it to activate...actually works on Vista so that is great! However, I have a problem with the logo it puts on. Yes, it's only there for a few seconds, but why do I want that on my video? IT also creates HUGE avi files and there are no settings to change - it says settings will be available in the next version. But, it did work quickly and easily. I will keep it on my system for quick jobs, but it's definitely not perfect.

I don't care what you guys do but I'm gonna go shopping today for a HD camera so I can use this program to remove that unwanted HD encoding and add that covented watermark.

Is this that mark of the beast my preacher was talking about?

The AVC HD format is so new that few of us realise what it is, and how popular it is going to become. Therefore the makers of this particular GOTD are aware there will be few takers at this time.

However, anyone considering the purchase of a camcorder later this year would do well to download this software for free while they can, because it might be handy in the future.

This is exactly what I need. If only you knew the trouble I've been having with my new HD camera trying to convert files. However, no matter what I do, the registration/activation doesn't "stick" - I input the code, it says it's registered, but the window still says Evaluation. I did reach the GOTD "successful registration" page as well. I'm stumped.

I don't really need this app, so I am going to pass. But, I am sure it is useful for someone who needs it. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give this program 6 points.

I click the "activate" and it says to type number in the box... but there's no box, only a screen to start working on a project. Help!

Good software. Thanks GAODT!

Description says:
"Now you have a DV video file that you can open in any audio/video editing application such as Microsoft Windows Movie Maker."

Yes, to find a cute program for DV editing is much more easier then for AVC HD editing. The most preferable tool for me is the one I got from GAODT previous winter: ttp://www.giveawayoftheday.com/solveigmm-video-splitter/

Here is how-to:
http://forum.videohelp.com/topic283241.html#1398273

Also XMuxer seems to have some features concerning DV editiing

It is ages I am looking for a converter that can convert .wmv files to .mpeg files that can be shown by any DVD machine. I have lots of .wmv, which I downloaded from my camcorder and I don't know how I can turn them into a format that can be easily shown on any normal DVD player. Is there a software around, preferably free, than can catch the video directly from the camcorder when you are downloading it into your computer and convert it to mpeg DVD format right there?

wow. yet another converter.

still, it does what it says, and does it well.

i'm not sure if there are any free software similar to this, but this gets a thumbs up...

...not because it's a good program, but because it works as advertised.

This one's gonna take a while to find a use for. Although I shouldn't bet on that, as over the last month I've found myself neck-deep in figuring out how to edit and reauthor 16:9 video with dolby 5.1 ac3 audio for an old friend, and I didn't expect that for a certainty- and if he gets the HD bug, he might just dump the current camera on me and then start me working on the big stuff. oy.

Refusing to activate, refuses to allow "pasting" of the serial (WHY for God's sake ??????) I have carefully typed out and checked three times and each time it won't budge from evaluation.
