I waited until near the end of this giveaway, to post this info. (For those that missed out on the giveaway)
If you google for "UK's Kalender" you will find a free program, which is very easy to use.
I have it set up to fill my screen with a month view Kalender (calendar). It is similar to today's calendar, except UK's fills my whole screen, and it dead simple to use.
It minimizes to an icon in the Systray(Notification area), and a single click shows the Kalender, and another single click hides it.
To add a reminder you just right click in any box (in any day), and click 'new'.
I believe adding a new reminder is easier in Kalender, than it is in today's giveaway.

Been using Essential PIM Free, for about a year. A replacement for "Palm Desktop"; not perfect, but capable, and so I'll give this a try.

This software offer is not leaving me with a good feeling. Below are some very interesting and pertinent questions about the offer and use of this product, yet I see no answers from Efficient Software.
Obviously, answering serious questions would demonstrate the author's pride and commitment to his product. With no shortage of diary and scheduling type products available on the market, why would I choose one that I have to learn by trial and error?
Hopefully the authors are just off to a late start today!

I wouldn't be too barfed about the year. Eff SW offers their program a couple times a year either here of the other free sites. Then you can get their updated version that usually picks up existing app's settings and good to go for another version round. For me the one year (set by them) is ok since who needs an app not maintained - so that lovely XP thing is working anymore on Windows 10 x64 Pro, well rat burgers but hey how slick is this new one for just Win 10. YRMV but knocking the devs is fruitless.

Been using an older scheduler but Eff SW looking lot cleaner in layout times. My current (years older) has a funky way of mixing up the monthly fields, they often overlap in confusing way and I end up using the day of July or Sept during Aug input timeframe.
Have to see how it goes. This has several extra bells whistles that may never use. Current one is just set, add any recurrent, and done. Pops up in variety of ways each week. This one appears similar just have to relearn navigating its ways.
Once you use one of these chore savers they are a must have.
Thanks Eff SW & GOTD.

I've tried a couple of this company's apps, and IMO they make some very nice software. I avoid subscriptions, so I won't be downloading this one.

The related app has a 2.1 rating (poor) and was last updated over a year ago. Why would someone pay for this program when there are so many cloud based services available that are free and updated often?

Kyle, just because I don't like and don't trust ANY cloud based solutions, no matter how good they seem to be. Sorry.

Kyle, I guess because some people, like me, don't trust the Cloud.

I have tried various {Reminder} software. They all differ. The most important thing about such Reminder software is the User Interface. If the User Interface suits you and is to your liking, then go for it. I think this software UI is quite good. It must be intuitive to use. And yet not so basic as to be practically useless.
It must not be too complex.
It must NOT offer all kinds of nonsensical "Connection to the Cloud" website of the software developer; whereupon it becomes a Revenue Generating Income Centre. Users then are encouraged to PAY a monthly $$$ fee to use and maintain this "Connection to the Cloud".
You can see Systems Backup software going down that route .... to Make More MONEY.
Especially Acronis which has denegerated from a top rated software to an unmitigated disaster.

It says it has a 1-Year update license to the latest version in 1 year. Can you still continue to use it after that, or will you have to buy a license at some point in the future?

Mike, in the product description it is stated :
If you still want to update after one year, you need to renew your code
For me, this means that after one year, if I still want to update, I must purchase a new license.
So this GAOTD and Efficient Software offer with one year of updates is a much better than the normal ones, that do not allow ANY update.

Mike, sure can keep using. The description pretty clear as these things go. Some freebies just say good for Updates only during current version run so if you get v 2.50 usually the updates available (for years ahead if needed) until maybe 3.xx arrives. Then it still works usually after a popup reminder that updates support ended w/ this version. (best kind offer a reminder then to not try an update or 'may' lose the current version & app itself). Worse kind just knock out you working freebie, but that's less common now.

Mike, Yup! That's the main purpose of GOTD; use the software, for Free, for a period of time and if you like it, you buy it.

Does it sync with Google Calendar and possibility to add/import external calendars like Facebook and import events from ics vcal files?

It says the license is only good until 6/11/2020, purchase date 6/11/2019

Dave, Now, why would anyone want to be dishonest on this site??
I read this as American dating -- ie. 11th June -- when of course it's already 26th August.
Which means of course, the claim of 12 months is nonsense -- it's only nine and a bit.
Which is more than strange. It's well... dishonest?

Tranmontane, I think I know what is going on with this date. This was last offered some place in June for version 5.22, which I had installed, but have forgotten. When I tried to install this one, is said that I already had the folder on my HD. Opened it used the same license provided in here, it updated to this same 5.60 version, but retained the June 11 date. Then I uninstaled it using Revo so no sign of the software would apear on my system anymore. Installed again, entered the license again, but, June 11 is still there.
SO, I guess that they are re-runnig the same old offer, once that it can be updated, but the first due date is still there, which is June 11, 2020.
