Unable to install!!! Setup crashes immediately after going online. Doesn´t work as user and the same happens trying to install as admin.
I have sent two error reports (do they go to Microsoft or the software developer?). System Win7 ultimate x64.

Hmmm - Comodo threw a Malware alert on install, so deleted install file. Then I scanned the download zip file and got no alerts. So I unzipped the file again and installed 2nd time with no problems or alerts. Strange.

P.S. Got registration key almost instantly, registration worked flawlessly.

No need to worry about removal of watermark from your photo that has been uploaded.

In the first place, your photo must good enough for others to want to steal it.

So work on improving your photography skills first.

Most of us take such lousy photos that no one would want to steal them.

When I tried to register using chrome it did not work, just stayed on the registration screen.

I switched to IE browser, and it worked as expected.

Excellent program, allows you to add two image watermarks (I use .png image format) at the same time. I don't think that is a common feature in other watermark programs. The only area I see that is lacking is in the resize image function. I need images to have the longest side set to a maximum width or height, and preserve aspect ratio. This program will only allow either the width or height to be set to a max size, and then the other edge will end up being scaled to preserve aspect ratio, but can be way larger than what I can use.
Also there should be an option to add the watermark(s) AFTER the image resize, so the size of the watermark is more consistent on images. From what I can tell the image watermark is added before the resize.
As for all the negative comments about it being useless to add watermarks, I use watermarks for advertising on images. Not to keep people from copying the photos. So yes there is definitely a demand for a product like this for some of us.

is this necessary for people who have photoshop, illustrator, or paint shop pro? just wondering if a stand alone watermaker is something anyone with other programs that can add watermarks needs.

Installed & activated OK on my XP machine using the computer's "admin privileged" account (my usual practice). It installed the Start Menu folder shortcuts under "All Users".

However, I had to repeatedly re-register/activate the program in each one of those other non-admin user accounts.

Also, when launching in those accounts it also produced an error message box "Saved profile (default) not found" before the main window appeared. Perhaps this is because the file (and associated other files/folders) it is looking for was NOT set up for "All Users"?:

C:\Documents and Settings\[my admin account]\Application Data\Easy Watermark Studio\default.ews3

Hopefully the developer can address this in the next release or a free update/patch?

Anyway, thanks for this nice offer!

I downloaded and installed, requested a key and it showed up in my email in seconds. It activated and runs on my Win 7 Pro 64-bit PC just fine. I ran a quick test and it looks promising. My plan is to add descriptive texts to photos from a European vacation we just returned from - Place, Date, etc. [it's nice to know where that photo displayed on the screensaver was from :-)] and it looks like it will handle this well. My biggest "wish" would be some built in intelligence in placing the watermarks. The bottom-center (as used in my test) may be good for many photos but it is unlikely to work for all. I may need to sort the photos by "target area" first. A help file describing each of the tools functions would be nice. I could "see" the results of some but others didn't appear to do anything? I'm looking forward to giving it the full test over the next few days!

I use version 2.1 of 2011 Giveaway. That is well working program providing the watermarking as a part of its features.

Regarding photo protection discussion I would advise:
1. If you have some unique shot and want to make money or your name immortality you should sell or publish it in proper media before you put it on net or even shared with friends. Otherwise you will lose serious buyers and your authorship will be stolen, no any protection can protect you. Todays GOTD cannot help you here.
2. If you put on net just nice photos and do not mind if normal people take it to their PCs as wallpaper etc you do not need to protect it (again the thief can steal anything if he can make money on it). But you may wish to put some nice reminder to help the people to remember your name or web site. Todays GOTD can help you the best way. You just need to create nice logo and the program can help you to put it to nice area to make it a good looking decoration of the photo (ex. signboard to the building, garden bench etc.). Of course it is impossible with batch mode.
Nobody will want to remove nice logo. Even most of thiefs will put stolen photos on their sites with your logos as is except it is copyright warning. So what do you want: copyright or glory? If copyright - it is better never to share your photos. If glory - better to try this GOTD.

Downloaded and installed quickly with no problems. Tried it out and it did the job. I like that I can tile my watermark which makes it harder to remove by anyone. Very easy to use and understand.

Just to note, after you register, the registration page should give you something like:

The registration information has been sent to your email address: youremail@xyz.com

Thank you!

If you do not get that, then something went wrong.
If you did get that, then your registration code should be in your email.

#2 Anon Y Mouse - I believe the BBC strip the metadata from pictures to protect those that have embedded personally identifiable information in them, such as the camera's serial number, or geo codes, etc.

Where a picture is from a library, the copyright is usually given up the side of a picture, unless you know something I don't?

Let's talk about the actual software and not effectiveness of watermarking as a security measure. You complainers (got to love people who complain about free stuff) might be surprised to find out your home's door lock will not stop a thief. Shocking, isn't it?!

Does this software do what it says? Yes. Is it easy to use? I thought so. The controls are generally well laid out and there are quite a few features. I liked the fact that it can work with a number of file formats. Watermarks can be text or image. It can also re-size images. Batch processing is expected and it seems to work well. Overall, it feels very polished and professional.
There are many creative uses for watermarking software, like captioning photos or adding logos.
This software does much more than the last watermarking program offered here a few months back (uMark), of course it is a larger program, but it seems very focused on doing it's job well without also trying to be a photo editor. Exactly how much I'll use this software, I'm not sure, but I think its a keeper. Thanks Refero and GOTD.

Side note: I'm sure in a few months GOTD will offer a program for removing watermarks and the same complainers will howl about how it doesn't perfectly remove the protection from the pictures they are trying to umm.. borrow. Pinheads!

A previous version (3.1) was offered on GAOTD about two years ago. I installed it and found that it did an excellent job (see Giovanni's comment #1).

A few months later, when v.3.3 was released, I received an email from the developers, offering a full license for the new version for $2.99 just for a couple of days. I purchased and installed the new version and I'm very happy with it.

I suggest you take advantage of today's offer and watch your mail for special offers in the future. It only needs some patience until you find an opportunity to purchase a full license (which includes support and updates) in the coming weeks.

Registration was quick and simple and went through flawlessly. While toying around with this program, you can add a multitude of layers of watermark images or texts. While some may be apprehensive about other software that can remove the layer of a watermark; you can add multiple layers. You can also change the opacity of the layer to virtually invisible. You could; for example, make the very bottom layer very invisible by changing the opacity percentage. You could then add several layers of other text information such as what the event it, the year, the location (state name for example). I toyed around with an image and added about 5 different layers without doing any harm to the photo and it was still pleasing to the eye. One of the great things about this is .. after you've added multiple layers, you can easily select a layer and go back and make any changes or adjustments to that particular layer. While this is not an in-depth review, I wanted to point out some of the good things about it after I actually reviewed and tried the software. Hopefully, this information will be beneficial to some.

I wasn't going to bother downloading this program until I read #7 graylox comment and it is a versatile program.
My grandchildren (grandchildren-gods reward for not killing your children) live in a place where the post is most unreliable and so I create cards for them. This program will be most helpful in doing this because of its ease-of-use.

The name of this great programme is somewhat "misleading", far too humble.
Indeed, this tool is much more than just another watermarker.

Don't listen to those users who just come here to bash any Giveaway;
if they would have tried this piece of software they wouldn't be "First" in the comments list.

Back to Easy Watermark Studio.
After a previous GOTD I purchased it (as a very generous deal) and had a lot of entertainment and fun with it.
As a hobby photographer I hardly watermark any pictures, but I use this programme for collages, annotations, framing... and just having fun with the grandkids and their artistic ideas. :)

For me this is a very versatile tool with lots of options and features normally found in a comprehensive photo editor. It does far more than just watermarking.
Normally I don't read "testimonials" on websites, in this case I can confirm all of the reviews:

This does it's job well, through a minimalist GUI.

But a word of warning. Bear in mind that this product is one of those the "expires" after a year. There is no option for disabling auto updates or anything like that. It simply stops working after a year.

Therefore it doesn't truly conform to Giveawayoftheday's vendor criteria, as the users here normally understand them.

The GAOTD screendumps are from the lite version: the pro version has got much more. Sine wave texting, adding noise, reflection, image embossing etc: this is the most advanced watermarker i've ever seen. No (@1), you can use multiple layers, and no, they are not "easily removed" if you do it with a bit of thought. And when you do create watermarks with a bit of thought, removing them will ruin the picture. Watermarking programs like this one do have some use: image copiers will go for the ones that don't have logo's that are difficult to remove.

I've said it before, and I will say it again -- water-marking by itself is nowadays virtually USELESS.

The ONLY way to protect your photos from being ripped off, or used by others when you DON'T want them to (some people don't mind of course!) is to ensure that they are of SUCH LOW RESOLUTION, they are not WORTH copying, using, selling or whatever.

This has been my approach, as a professional photographer.

Sadly, like some other pro photographers I am sure, some of my photos still make it onto Facebook, largely uncompressed, since our wives are not quite so concerned about our property, which in my case is usually my copyright of her image.

And don't get me started on "forgetting" to strip off any GPS data, before uploading....

Yes it does the job pretty flawlessly, since it enables users to apply professional Photoshop-like digital watermarks (text, image, logo) to their pictures in BATCH mode with ease, regardless of their size and format, with the cool ability to add tons of special effects over them (reflection, drop shadow, outer glow etc... ) for a better look.

So forget the misleading GAOTD (fake) user low rating and enjoy this GAOTD to its full extent, should you need a tool to protect your images from unauthorized use on the NET. And the UPDATE limitation should NOT be an issue for this kind of software.

25 BUCKS?? Well, well, well.....

I am informed that numerous scumbag organisations -- right up to the "British Bucket Company" - Yeah, even the BBC - strip off the metadata on pix.

What's the use of this program when the only way to protect one's property is to provide "damaged pix" or ones that are so low resolution that they can't be commercially exploited by these thieving bandits?

To all users of this software:

EVERY WATERMARK CAN BE REMOVED FROM ANY PICTURE WITH THE RIGHT SOFTWARE.

Your only defense is to hide your watermark in a pixel elements not seen with naked eye and only you know where that mark is.
Anything else is just farce and wishful thinking. This software creates a single layer on top of the picture which can easily be removed.
Exif can easily be manipulated and replaced, so don’t count on such protection either.
