Too bad in India we don't have egg-laying rabbits. I really like to see Shiva eggs, Rama-eggs, Krishna eggs and so forth, but our egg head gods don't even know how to lay eggs. Shame!

Hi Everyone, And Very Happy Easter to Everyone, God Bless,
Now I am Retired And I know the resin for Easter! And I believe what the Bible Tells me. But Easter Bunny's and Colored Eggs are for young Children that are not quite old enough to understand fully the adult understanding of the Resurrection! But it starts to prepare them for thous teachings. They understand today is a very special day! and opens the door to understanding and learning about the Resurrection. I know when I was a kid and I went to Sunday school we would color pictures of Jesus walking out of the Tomb and Speaking to his disciples while the teacher tolled us the story, and then we got to go hunt Easter eggs and some chocolate candy! I may not have understood Why anyone would Kill Jesus or how he could have risen? kids don't know about, Or, How that works! But every Easter, I knew it was about Jesus and a Miracle! and the Bunny's, eggs and candy helped me to remember that fact and as I got older and graduated upstairs to the adult church, Learning about the Resurrection seemed easy! and all the colors, Eggs, Bunny's, candy, and flowers made it clear to me it was a celebration of the fact that Jesus had Risen! and why he died for Me in the first place! Just my perspective! Don't be a sower puss! Be happy! and enjoy!

On another note, Yes screen savers come ON when nobody's there! That's not the point, At least for me! If I leave my PC ON and go out for dinner or what ever? It is really nice to come home on a day like today and see a pleasant, happy, and enjoyable screen saver on my computer? It makes me feel happy and worm inside! Like welcome home! and I have grand kids coming over for dinner and egg hunt and all the stuff! (O; my Grand kids like it and they enjoy the fact the my PC is celebrating Easter too! and it goes with all the other decorations and celebrations of the Day. Now if all that is Too Mushy and sentimental for you and you are, An Easter Scrooge? Read on...

I was a PC, Lap-Top, LAN, Server, and light bulb changer another words, my responsibility was everything that had to do with the day to day operation of a major Bank in Phoenix, AZ. That was one of my last careers before I retired. PC, LAN Support Tech for over 17 years, and for toughs of you that think screen savers are not needed? Your WRONG! The LCD OR, LED display on your new PC CAN and DOES BURN IN! There is a coating or diffuser built into the display to blend the LCD or LED points of light into one defused and blended display! or all you would see are millions of pin point dots that would be vary irritating to the eyes! and it would be hard if not impossible to see anything on the display! Now if you don't believe me that's cool its not my loss! But I changed out a lot of LCD's back in the Day! for am image of a word processor or Spread sheet burnt into the screen! and nowa days with the New LED displays I have change out 3 in the last two years from people that went out of town and Left there PC on with something from the internet and or something they had left open on the desktop and went out of town on a weeks vacation! Only to come home to a dim display, That had the out line of what ever had been on the screen steady for a week! Now at the bank they started making it mandatory to turn OFF the display every night! and Turn OFF the PC completely on Friday night until Monday morning when they got back to work! And they put in a password protected screen saver that kicked in after 10 minutes of no keyboard activity and for safety in protecting sensitive information from prying eyes when the Employe would leave his/her desk for a minute! she would hit a key and launch the screen saver! The Burnt LCD displays or dark red displays dropped to near 0! after that! As for friends and Clients that still come to me for there PC repairs etc. they all have the Windows 7 or 8 default screen savers or one of these Astro Gemmine Screen savers per the holiday etc., Installed on every PC I setup or repair with and explanation as to how to change it and why? I usually set the screen saver for 20 to 30 minutes to come ON than after 50 to 60 minutes I have windows Blank out the Display till they hit a Key or move or click there mouse! IT solved the problem.

SO screen savers ARE still useful! Even with today's new technology! I mean after all, why does Windows 7 and 8 Still have built in screen savers? And its always a Benefit to your wallet to error on the side of Caution or Safety any day! Or, Forget to turn your PC OFF and go off on vacation for a week or so and come home to a very unhappy seen! It does NOT hurt Anything! They only operate when your NOT using your computer! So, Its NOT using any resources until then and with the touch of a key or mouse its out of memory! Oh except the little timer and keyboard monitor that knows when your not doing anything and the timer runs out and activates the screen saver! and what's that? A couple of bits! If your worried about that little of overhead you need to upgrade or replace your PC! For toughs of you that say or will say I'm out of my mind or worse! I have a nice P4 Due core Intel CPU in a DELL Lap-Top with a permanent Spread Sheet in dim white on the screen no mater what website you go to, Or, What game you play you can read that spreed sheet across the hole screen! I'm going to replace the LCD, But I leave it this way to show doubting Tomas Computer People that YES! It CAN and DOES Still happen! Its a real nice lap-top too! But the LCD from Dell cost more then Buying a new Lap-Top! And that's what my Client did! and he Told me to keep this one, After I transferred all his data to his new one! To Show people! He now runs a screen Saver! Just FYI!:

For Easter 3D Screensaver, and Astro Gemini, Thank you! You guys/gals make some of the best Screen savers out there! 2 Thumbs up! and Thank you! And for GOTD? 2 thumbs UP! As always! Thank You for all the work and effort you go through to bring ALL of these great programs, Applications and Screen Savers to us to try and use for as long as we like for FREE! Remember for every Nay Sayer or thumbs down? (Most of witch they didn't Even try the application!) Remember there are at least 10, (Ten) Times that many people that Like and love what your doing! Its the Silent majority thing! They just don't want to be in the public forum and be made fun of! I know Many, Many people that love what you all are doing! I wish I could get them to right revues! I did get some too do it! So, That's good! Keep the faith, The work you and your developers do in bringing us Users some of the latest and greatest software out there "IS Appreciated!" Thank You!

Well, I must confess that I like screen savers as they really are a form of art for the computer. The problem I have with Astro Gemini is that the software is dated, it's not so much the graphics that bother me, but the lack of support for multiple screens and high-resolution graphics. In my opinion, the company should really upgrade the products as I would not pay for any of their screen savers.

For quality screen savers that run on multiple monitors and cost less than $10, try 3Planesoft.com as these are the best that I have found.

Thank you for a nice screen saver- there is nothing wrong with an offering just because you don't want a screen saver and some folks do still use them just because they like them. I don't use them often but it isn't a bad product.

Why? For the same reason you place photos, trinkets, gifts, mementos etc in & around your home, work place, school locker and so on.... PERSONALIZATION!
Thanks to Astro Gemini for the timely special occasion animated screen savers they've given us here at GAotD.
Some still don't understand that many just like these to personalize their system & than there's those of us that do... think, & appreciate things.

I love screensavers.I do wish this one had been given away at least a week to two weeks ago so I could have been using it up until Easter.
Getting it on Easter exactly only gives me one day to enjoy it since I don't use then after the holiday is over.

Why the thumbs-down? Perhaps because while I'm sure this a very nice springtime screen saver, it is terribly irrelevant to Easter.
Bunnies and flowers are sweet: Jesus is the reason for easter, not colorful eggs in a basket!
Remember, this is Resurrection day!

Screensavers are obsolete and unnecessary. I use power management to turn the monitor off after 5 minutes. Why use a screensaver? I quit using them 10 years ago or more.

Screensavers TAKE UP HD SPACE AND MEMORY.

Say NO to screensavers. With the new LCD and LED screens, they are no longer needed because these new screens DO NOT CAUSE BURN-IN (ghosts in your monitor screen).

My objection is that they waited until Easter to offer it. Kinda don't really need it now ...

Here's a hint: you don't wait until Christmas morning to start putting up Christmas decorations.

Found my own answer,

" To un-install a product, please click 'Start', select Programs, then choose the product you would like to un-install, choose the un-install option. This will launch the un-install program that will entirely and automatically remove the product from your computer."

I still have this one from an earlier giveaway. Nicely done graphics with vivid colors. Bunnies and baskets of eggs in a peaceful outdoor setting by a tree. What's not to like? My screensaver manager randomly picks a screensavers, and when this one pops up I always like to watch it for a bit. Thanks for offering it again so more people can see it.

Grandbabies are coming for Easter Dinner so this might be cute for them. As a one time use though I do worry about whether this is an install and (among other things) writes to the registry or does it just run.

@paul and others. Screen savers were designed for the old cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors which suffered from burn-in due to the phosphorus coating on the inside of the screen. It had nothing whatever to do with the OS as there were built in screen savers back in the day. If you want to run a seasonal screen 'saver' for visual effect, go for it, i do not object. Happy Unbirthday everyone :)

I recently upgraded the software for my NVidea card and it added 3-D support. (Or at least that's the first time I noticed it, but it's a new card.) This screensaver is compatible with their Stereoscopic 3-D.

I think it may be because you don't just get a screensaver - i've had spyware in the past; or basically because it's unnecessary system clutter.

Something is wrong. I downloaded (twice) both the screen saver and the game for today and I'm not getting the programs. All that shows up is a blank "sheet of paper". Is this an April Fools joke early or is there something seriously wrong with GAOTD? (I don't believe it's my computer as this is the first time I've ever had something like this happen and I download a lot)

#1: "Are the downvotes because of a problem with the software or because you just don’t like screen savers? I really don’t understand the screensaver hate on GOTD."

Well, a lot of people don't run screensavers anymore... they're all about decoration & entertainment -- not saving crt monitors from burn in like they were originally -- but some folks never get past the part where you don't *need* to run a screensaver.

Then there's the fact that the Astro Gemini screensavers that appear on GOTD tend to be nice, maybe even cute like today's Easter theme -- lots of people just don't do nice &/or cute. Some people don't do Easter either.

And then there's the practical side of it -- these screensavers do require a certain minimal level of Direct X support in graphics hardware, which isn't always there on notebooks, netbooks, & PCs with built-in [on-board] graphics chips. OTOH while Astro Gemini keeps those requirements to a minimum, doing so means the graphics aren't going to rival what you see on screen playing the latest games, like the just released Bioshock: Infinite, and that's the level of detail, eyecandy that some people want.

That all said, GOTD doesn't release their download numbers, but I would certainly expect that if no one downloaded the screensavers we wouldn't be seeing one today, yet they always appear, so I have to assume that despite the negative votes they really are popular. :)

It's always nice to miss the decent giveaways and have these worthless screensaver offerings available. Excuse me, the screen saver hate exists because these cute things take away from most consider useful offerings. I buy wraapping paper at Christmas but wouldn't give or want wrapping paper itself as a gift. How would you feel if the main course at dinner today is salt? ...or in a restaurant you were charged for salt?

Yes the site needs traffic but occasionally people need a life and get pissed off when they are offerred such wonderfully cute screensavers that offer hours of productive enjoyment for those with mentalities of a child. Personally, I don't need a computer or screensaver for such folly; rather it was invented long before: its called TV.

Seriously, maybe the folk at AstroGemini could apply their creativity at a higher level. Instead of simply creating new themes, new cute objects to animate in a simple recursive way, try to be creative in making a screensaver that will evolve, perhaps have user interactivity, incorporate novel info/images/media from the web. (How many copies of pong do they sell for XBox?)

Even with the level of screensavers you offer, why not consider a screensaver that could be given as a gift, and will display a different special personalized screensaver on a special day, such as the recipient's birthday, anniversary, etc. Maybe that's already been done.

Someday they may say, "Its hard to believe AstroGemeni had its humble beginnings creating screensavers." Think outside the box.

This product appeals to a niche market of between 10 and 20% of GOTD visitors, pretty impressive IMHO. I haven't used a screensaver since Win3.1 and they're not even necessary with newer monitors, but cut the GOTD team some slack. They need time off for good behavior. Not only is it a holiday for a few billion people, it's the weekend.

Hmmm. My belief for Astro Gemini Offering this .. is purely for the festive season and in the interests of children who don't know the full meaning of Easter!

Way To GO GAOTD and Astro Gemini:) .. Since I don't have kids here to entertain in the morning this won't be needed though I do have my small incentives to remind me of this occasion.

My only suggestion here would be to offer this at least two days prior so that it reaches many more screensaver lovers and get this set for the Easter Sunday morning. Whilst I am in Australia, Easter morning has been and gone ... now winding down to watch a good movie.

As usual, a screensaver is not going to do well as far as popular votes go. I have this from a previous giveaway and I have to say it is a pleasant and colorful screensaver. Astro Gemini makes some nice ones. While you won't want this to run year round, it does serve a niche time period and helps to celebrate Easter. I say thank you GOTD team and Astro Gemini.

Why all the Thumbs DOWN? I have been installing and using Astro Gemini since they launched Planet Earth 3D, god only knows how long ago. Some of their recent screen savers were a littl crap. This one looks like someone put a little more effort into it. I think the bunny hopping around the tree is really cute, it's nice to see a teddy moving for a change. It's a pity that since the launch of win7 we dont need screen savers anymore. I give it a THUMBS UP even though I won't be using it. HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! :)

Are the downvotes because of a problem with the software or because you just don't like screen savers? I really don't understand the screensaver hate on GOTD.

I always use a screensaver on my Windows machine and Astro Gemini makes the nicest ones in my opinion. There's one, sometimes more for every season and holiday. I've got about 14 of them and have never had any issues with the software, or taking too many resources, or conflicting with anything else in my system. Good stuff.
