Nowadays unfortunately very many companies do not provide them for users to download, while some, like Intel, make things very difficult, unless you use their driver update app running constantly as a service.

Storage is relatively cheap -- a 120 GB SSD costs around $20 on sale, and an external USB housing can usually be found for ~$5 -- so use something like Macrium Reflect Free, backup the Windows and boot partitions, and no worries.

Lucas, I have yet to come across a single driver update program that is useless, let alone harmful. Every driver update program I have ever tried, including this one, is by design made to update drivers, which is inherently useful. I have never had a single driver update program cause harm to any computer I've ever installed one on. In fact, the only DRIVER that has EVER caused me any headache at all was a driver update to a wifi router in which the router itself did the updating not a driver update program, and even then, all I had to do was roll back to a previous driver version. As driver updates go, they are inherently a good thing to do because they are designed by the hardware manufacturer to add increased performance, functionality, and reliability by providing you with a driver that is better suited than the old one. IOBIT Driver Booster only provides driver updates from the hardware manufacturers website so they are as safe as they can get.

But Lucas, we have no access to hardware manufacturer's websites, so IObit Driver Booster provides a service we desperately need, and I have found it to be uniquely safe and reliable.

And, Wayne Interessierts, it works in manual one-at-a-time mode when free with no Pro licenses ( though it does not then update Microsoft, Sun, and Adobe software drivers, or fix Device Manager errors ).

Just tell Malwarebytes to ignore IObit directories, and it will pass over IObit and not delete it.

sam, Technically yes, but it will not be "portable" it will add autorun files to the pc and that pc will have iobit processes running on it even after the usb is removed.

But Ned, there are no auto run anything NEEDED to run this program, so we all just turn them off anyway.

Hi sam, you can install this as many times as you want to, just be prepared for IObit to eventually say the Pro version licenses have been exhausted, then use it in manual non-pro mode, pretty much the same result, hardware driver wise.
