Every day we offer FREE licensed software you’d have to buy otherwise.
CareUEyes 2.1.7 was available as a giveaway on November 17, 2021!
CareUEyes is a professional eye protection software. It can prevent digital eye fatigue (such as eye fatigue, pain, blurred vision, shoulder, and neck pain) and migraines caused by light stimulation caused by computer use.
Using CareUEyes at night can prevent circadian rhythm disorders and promote sleep.
Features:
CareUEyes has four main functions: Filter blue light, adjust the screen brightness, break timer, and focus. 8 preset eye protection modes can automatically filter blue light and control brightness. You can also manually set the color temperature and brightness of the screen to reduce eye strain.
The display always emits blue light, but blue light is a kind of light with a short wavelength, high energy, and is easy to flicker. Blue light easily causes eye fatigue, pain, and may play a role in the development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Blue light at night also inhibits the secretion of melatonin and causes sleep problems.
CareUEyes filters blue light by adjusting the color temperature. The lower the color temperature, the more blue light is filtered.
The brightness of the computer screen is best adjusted to the brightness of the surrounding environment, not too bright or too dark. If the screen is too dark to see the picture clearly, too bright will hurt your eyes.
CareUEyes supports the adjustment of all types of computer screens, and can also adjust multiple screens at the same time.
Note: You can enable the sunrise and sunset feature, CareUEyes will automatically adjust the color temperature and brightness of the screen according to the time.
Break timer
Use the 20-20-20 rule to prevent eye fatigue: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds, and the CareUEyes timer will intelligently remind you to take a break.
Focus
Allows you to customize the size and transparency of the reading area, so you can easily stay focused and improve work efficiency while reading.

My pre activated version of this has now become unlicenced after 10 days, which I assume is the length of time for the trial version. So much for the 1 year licence it was supposed to give me.

On this PC with Windows 10, a part is present for the screen that is called "night lamp".
Settings for "Night lamp". >
Screens blasting blue light that you can keep out of your sleep. With the "Night Light" setting, warmer colors are displayed so that you can sleep better. This component is set in "Display settings".

The installation calls for administrator privileges, but when you click on "yes" to give it these privileges, it just brings up the same question over and over and then won't successfully install. The user of the computer also is an administrator. How can I get it to install?

I use win 10 night light adjustments, you can have unlimited number of screens with very little blue light in it and it looks great every time. You can never eliminate the blue light from the screen, because it will turn the screen orange color or greenish depending on the set ups. The blue light is necessary to create the rest of the color spectrum on the screen, eliminating it will create unwatchable colors that look like muddy water and the hue will be untrue colors.

You can just download f.lux for free which does the same thing I'm assuming.
I've been using f.lux for over 5+ years since before Windows 10 and Apple added the feature to their screens and I still use it.

This program has a number of features including 8 presets to automatically filter blue light and change brightness levels for two settings (a day setting and a night setting). You can also manually change those presets or color temp and brightness through the tray icon such as watching a movie, playing a game, or turn it off for example to easily take a screenshot then turn back on. The price I see for the full version is 14.90 per year or 39.90 for lifetime (This is a 1 year license giveaway). Personally I have used the program IRIS PRO for years which should also be considered, which also has a lifetime license (without updates that may never be needed) for 14.99 and other free and lifetime update options. Iris is mind-blowing in the customization options, so is a bit more advanced in features, but slightly less user friendly to a complete computer novice.

IRIS does not provide free upgrade services and has not been upgraded for two years. Iris usually causes high CPU usage on my computer. Those dazzling settings make me unable to get started quickly

The install/activation was very easy. Lots of options to adjust your screen. I do think I can use this! Many thanks for the giveaway, David N.

Pradip, CareUEyes ruin your screenshoot image. For example you set brightness to 50%, you took screenshot, your image is dimmed, same as you change the temperature. It's like WYSIWYG screenshot.
Unlike f.flux, does not ruin your screenshot at all.
f.flux all the way baby!.
sry my english suck hope you understand.

After the second startup, the screenshot will not turn yellow, maybe it is to make the first run experience better
