I strongly suspect that there is an additional unmentioned limitation on this program, that it won't be able to reveal any data from behind asterisks in windows microsoft store sourced apps, only *desktop* apps of the right type are possible due to the sandboxing microsoft uses for microsoft store derived apps. It may explain why people *think* they are running 64bit applications but are really running microsoft store derived apps that are untouchable by desktop tools like this.

Can you please include a link to a 64-bit version next time?

At first run of program, during installation I chose the 64 bit version and I also got an alert that it was not installed. I then closed the program and clicked on Finish installation. Then restarted program and 64 bit version was there.

TK, smartscreen does try hard to prevent the download but on keep anyway persistence the NSIS installer is downloaded and none of the contents raise any warnings from windows defender in windows 10.... it's just PUP warnings on downloading NO MALWARE.

When you visit the page for the key on XenArmor's site you fill in your email, check the box for a CAPTCHA, and click the button -- you'll get a new page showing the key and a link to download the setup file that's the same size as the file you downloaded from GOTD. I used that 2nd, downloaded setup file.
Installed in a Win11 Pro VM that was reset to its condition just after the March Patch Tuesday updates, & then had all available updates installed. XenArmor Asterisk Password Recovery Pro has 2 executable files [.exe] in its C:\Program Files (x86)\ XenArmor\ AsteriskPasswordRecoveryPro\ folder, AsteriskPasswordRecoveryPro32.exe and AsteriskPasswordRecoveryPro64.exe. One is obviously the 32-bit version, the other 64-bit -- the desktop shortcut links to the 32-bit version. You also get a Caphyon folder in ProgramData, and 4 files in Windows\ Installer\. I recorded a total of 587 new registry entries, most of them having to do with caches -- you get 5 keys related to the Caphyon installer, an uninstall key, and 2 XenArmor keys.

Kind of disappointed. It says I have to open the app before looking for passwords. Sounds very laborious if I wanted to get all of them.

As stated below it is the 32 bit version only. It prompts for the 64 bit version not available for each app I tested. Since I primarily run 64 bit apps this GOTD does not serve any purpose for me. Knowing that most people run 64 bit apps in todays environments why limit that capability so it can't be tested. Please advise if I have not applied the application correctly or miss read the process and I will correct my error and retest.

vasimo,
Yes, by default it start up trying the 32 bit version, but then gave me the possibility to switch to running the 64 bit version too just by clicking on the button located near the lower left corner of its window. However, I was then informed I had no Asterisk Passwords present in my machine, which I found bizarre.

Blue, look at known limitations on that page... many apps nowadays are QT framework so will not work with this IF they ever present an asterisked password input field. Also some apps purposely put in junk data behind the ****** interface. I tried to re-post their known limitations but the censor deleted it.

rww, it should say "Windows desktop apps, not including non-MS frameworks like QT or GTK etc."
