James, thank you. When I clicked that button for the activation key, nothing happened. I am currently downloading the offer again, hopefully that button will be active. I think I see what is confusing to you and you do have a good point. The statement in the Ashampoo_readme.txt file uses the word "program" when it would have been better to have used "setup."

The prompt to get a registration key does not occur in the actual program; it occurs in the setup, which is also a program.

Ashampoo and your comment:
"To activate your free copy request the registration key by pressing "Get free activation key" button in the program window". I can't install the program to get to that window.

If the use of "program" had been "setup" would that have made more sense? As in:

"To activate your free copy request the registration key by pressing "Get free activation key" button in the setup window".

One other thing you should check is to see if your browser opened the Ashampoo page in the background. I have encountered that scenario before, and only discovered it when I closed the other programs in front of it.

Another thing that might work is to close your browser, then run the setup.exe program. There are cases where the browser will not change if already open, but if not already started, will start up and go to the correct page.

Even though the offer has expired on GOTD, you might find one of these suggestions works. If so, then see if Ashampoo will still show a key.

Hi Gary, thank you for all of your ideas. I was sure you had nailed it with your last idea, so I shut the computer down and rebooted, I did not let my browser and anything else that shows up open. From my desktop I opened setup and happily pressed the delinquent button but sadly no joy. So that's that. We will be moving soon (downsizing) and I had thought this program might help us in our new place. I'll have a look at all the available free design programs, perhaps I will get lucky.

jack anon, I tried to install the program.
I can't find a place to activate this program.
The installation was done in English!
I use Windows 7/32.

glnz, Continuing my post above - My older Ashampoo Home Design 3 still starts up but its engine CACAD.exe trips a Win 10 protection message, so I'm not sure whether it still works.

glnz, Further update for my post above - In my Win 10 notices at bottom right of screen, I saw that my Win 10 had blocked both CAD.exe from this Ashampoo 5 and CACAD.exe from my older Ashampoo 3, I manually permitted them to work, and both progranms open now. Although I have not yet used either of them so I don;t know what will happen if I try to design something, (The resulting building will probably fall down.)

Might also add that I've tried multiple browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) with no difference. I note in the comments that others have had mixed experiences; some got the email link and some didn't. Sure hate missing out when great software is available on GAOD.

Jay, i had to try to get the full version, you can type your email then log in to Ashampoo website and than you will get the license key, copy it then activate it, done.

Jay, Nope, and I used a disposable email with no issues whatever plus I made up a name (just initials) and DOB.

All registered and in process of trying it out now.
