OS is Windows 10 Pro x64 with latests updates installed.

After install I get the following error:
Application has been terminated.

Not sure but this seems to be the offending error in the log file:

It seems that one of the most important general settings, units, is grayed out. The default appears to be in meters; need to set for inches/feet.

Installed okay, and followed directions. Never received the activation key. They say to contact support if that happens, so it must happen fairly often.

I had downloaded the Home Design 5 when it was given away. Now removed and installed Home Design 6. I never once used 5, probably will never use 6 either, but... Thanks for giving it away just the same.

If you look for support for this product on Ashampoo's website you won't find it. That's because the Home Design program is just a subset of their 3D CAD program. So if you click on Help/Training Videos you will be taken to the 3D CAD support page. But at least now the videos are in English and not just German like in Home Design 5, the last GOTD giveaway.

Also, some of the features listed in version 5 only worked in the 3D CAD version, such as the Import and Export of DWG and DXF files. When I contacted support to inquire about the missing but listed features and lack of English videos, I received the following message:

"The Import and Export of DWG and DXF files is only possible in Ashampoo 3D CAD Professional 7. The instructions within the manual and tutorial videos are product comprehensive, while the Ashampoo Home Design 5 is the basic version, Ashampoo 3D CAD Architecture 7 and the product with the most functions, Ashampoo 3D CAD Professional 7, provide further functions. For this reason there are also explanations of functions in the manual or videos, that you might not be able to use with Ashampoo Home Design 5.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer you videos in English, the videos are generally without sound and are only for demonstration purposes."

I subsequently suggested they address these issues in the next version, so I'm happy to see that they took my suggestions seriously! I've always received good responses and support from this company.

Now hopefully all the listed functions work and the 3D CAD videos also apply to this version.

Also, the "Licence Details" for this version is listed as "Lifetime" whereas my copy of Home Design 5 has already reverted to a trial status. So that's another improvement, if it's accurate.

Large download, 1.36 GB. Got key quickly, install ran fine - but installed in German (ran install twice). Could not figure out how to change language, either during install or via the Hilfe / Help tab (took German about 40 years ago and have not used it, so am quite rusty). May try Google Translate to see if I can change the language.

one of the UI questions you should always ask is, "how does the user do X if they know nothing about X?".
