This is a demo version which only converts 20 minutes. Application seems like it would be good if it was an actual application rather than a demo. Of course, since i cant actually convert an entire movie because the software's been crippled, who knows if it actually works?!

Works wonderful! I converted an XVid coded clip to YouTube format in FLV with high bitrates on the audio and video, and successfully posted it to youtube. No hassles, works great! Lovely conversation GUI graphics, simple and easy. My new favorite. thanks Givewawy of the Day.

Typical badly configured, low quality converter. If you didn't get this one, you didn't miss anything. I don't understand why these companies keep making these low quality programs, or why people buy them. There are so many free options that produce far better quality. Yes, they don't convert as quickly (quality takes time), and they may not look as pretty (nice buttons do not equate to good video), but they work far better that applications like this. I tested this program with several different conversions from the same source, using built-in templates and custom configurations, and every video it produced was uniformly poor. A big thumbs down to Aplus. Much more like a D minus.

Looks like a useful app... BUT of no good use when it fails to run..
I get "VideoConvert MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Additional info is:
AppName: videoconvert.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: qedit.dll

If the company will make corrections and provide the same opportunity for us, I would give it another try.. Thanks!!

WOW!!!
I think this is a very nice piece a program! I Downloaded and installed vey easy. I loaded in a strange AVI format that my camera uses and it loaded right up. I have spent all day preparing a diffent Program Video authoring GIG on my computer, so i didnt have the chance to really test all the features. Sorry. I did convert to MPG thou, and when i tried to drop it into my video software it said {PAL not supported}. Well, i thought PAL was for people in England and those countries. I think we in USA only use ?NTSC?. Obviously I dont know what i am talking about at all, but thats ok-> i will learn quick.
The program looks ver nice thou, and the ease of use is very direct with really no help needed. I am sure you can read above from people that know more about this {area of the unknown video}...
Sorry for the not so informative post, I really jst wanted to say an extra extra thanks to the people at giveawayoftheday. Yup, yesterdays giveaway + todays giveaway put together; offers a very powerful combination "yup, i noticed that-> and am smiling deeply"

Still looking for something to convert video podcasts in mp4 and mov formats to 3gp. This one converts "any" video, but doesn't recognize .mp4 as an input file. If I paste in the filename it creates a 0-byte .3gp file which is a pretty awesome compression ratio :-) but not playable.
Specifically I'm looking to play the "Happy Tree Friends" and "Penn Says" vidcasts on a Razr V3xx, FWIW...

I've been thinking the same. If you read the comments for thier previous offering (at http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/aplus-dvd-ripper/#comments , especially #74 onwards), you'd surely suspect if Plato = Aplus = Aone = Agogo = A-whatever... That was the reason why I gave thumbs down.
James, I think they are not even trying to get some of us buy the software. I think they are just after the payment from GOTD for the downloads made on the day. Although WE don't need to pay for the software offered, the vendor is still get paid for the download by GOTD. I suspect GOTD is used as a quick cash cow in this case.

well, I came, I downloaded, I installed, I tried, I was not overly impressed....
installed very easily, came up right away, and looked simple enough, that's where the good stuff pretty much ends.
I tried only a couple of conversions just to see what it did, I tried converting an mpg to avi, it did it fairly quickly a 6meg file in about 15 seconds, the size reduced by about 80% from 5.5 meg to about 1.5meg but the quality out put was not all that great, then I tried converting from mpg to mpg, and got no out put at all, just black
then I tried a batch conversion of mpg to avi, again, pretty quick but not all that great in quality, and as previously stated no variance in the AVI codec or the option to add a different codec.
all in all I'll give it a 6/10 for what I saw of it.
simple enough for anyone to use - Pro
lacking in quality and ability - Con

Well, I finally had a chance to install on my Vista Ultimate system. As with XP Pro SP-2, installed & activated just fine. Opens quickly, converts quickly. I did a full length movie, AVI to MPEG conversion in slightly under 15 minutes. Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but thats pretty fast in my book.
Video & audio synced great to. Again, this is a professional looking app that seems to do exactly what it claims it will without any problems for me, so far. Having lost my other converters I acquired from here due to a system upgrade (Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate), I'm happy to have it.

"DVD to iPod Video Rip/Convert Factory is a intuitive to use program which convert your DVD movies"

Agogo Video Joiner: "Normally, the conversion speed is 5 times of the playback speed."

Installed and registered without a problem on my WinXP (SP3) Home Ed. The GUI looks very professional and simple. I'd hoped to use this in conjunction with a couple other GAOTD programs, primarily the slide makers that create .mp4 and .swf slides.
On trying to open an .MP4 creation, it didn't even see the files. In looking at the listing for media file types, .mp4 wasn't listed. On to trial # 2.
Tried to open some .SWF slide presentations I'd created. Aplus Video Convertor saw them, but on loading, said it couldn't open them -- ANY of them. I tried with .swf files downloaded from the internet. Same thing. I couldn't get this program to open a single .swf file for conversion.
I tried a .flv file to .avi -- no problem, worked great.
It looks like a great program, but it definitely will NOT convert any video to any video. Besides the two limitations listed above, I noticed another limitation: converting *to* a .swf isn't even an option.
I'll keep it only as a 'last option' if I can't use anything else.

Hello, I do like this software. It is easy to use. But it is far from perfect, yes Sr. Eee.
First, when I open the program, the "Cover Flow" thing doesn't do anything, and it isn't a pretty graphic. Next, when you register, it says, "Enter your serial and press OK" For your information there is no OK button...
And lastly, all the icons, like when you press open, that little window, are ugly. The designer didn't bother to make his icons compatible with his background.
5/10.

It would be nice if the windows had max and min buttons. The windows resize but that's not 100% intuitive since users see those buttons practically everywhere. It’s somewhat annoying dealing with this crammed little browse window until you inadvertently discover it resizes.
My biggest complaint is the Help file. Basically it’s online. By that I mean when I “click” the Help button, I’m led to believe that I’m online (my browser is IE7). I get a screen that looks exactly as if I was on their site (not to confuse being on their homepage). So any of the links embedded in the Help file itself that I see are useless (the dreaded “Cannot Display the Webpage). Contrary to popular belief all PC's are not plugged into the net 24/7.
I know this is blasphemy but, there is such a thing as "Offline". Simplistic as the program may be, if someone working with it for whatever reason needs information, you’re forced to go online. Now for users with dial-up that’s an even bigger hit. Those folks are already contending with things like lengthy download times. Developers cannot look at the dial-up market as being too small to bother with when developing product. If anything, it just may be back on the increase. The economy being what it is today isn’t exactly looking very bright. Here in the U.S. home foreclosures are up, rising unemployment, credit card debt up the “ying yang”, $4.00 per gallon gas (in England the price of gasoline last I heard was $9.00 per gallon). People everywhere are cutting back on expenses wherever they can be had. That includes broadband internet connections.
[End Note: I won’t even get into the horrendous grammatical errors in the Help file itself! It’s like how hard is it to run a spell check with grammar these days? Every fricken word processing program worth its salt that I’m aware of has one built in! It’s a pet peeve, but I feel insulted when I see things like that. Makes me think that whoever the developer is, are only interested in making a quick buck, so there’s no need to bother with that stuff because Americans are all stupid to begin with. Well here is one back at Mr. Developer to look up the definition of – Boycott!]

To bad some are having problems with this app. It installed, activated, opens and runs fine on my XP Pro SP-2 system. Yes, I did say SP-2. After SP-1 crashed my Vista Home Premium system straight up, (Blue screen, memory dump & killed system restore) I just don’t have much faith in the engineers working at MS these days.
I got the problem too, why does it happen? I thin this Video Converter is much better than this aplus converter.
The key features:
- Easily convert DVD and video to all popular video and audio formats. Rip DVD and convert video to MPEG4 ,DivX , XviD, AVI, WMV (Windows Media Player), MP4, MOV (Quick Time), RM, RMVB (Real Player), FLV(Youtube), - MPG, MPEG, 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, VOB, H.264, M4V, MP3, WMA, M4A, AAC, WAV, etc.
- Support various portable video/audio players. Rip DVD and convert video to iPod, PSP, PS3, iPhone, Apple TV (MP4, M4A, MP3), Zune, Xbox360 (WMV, WMA), Archos MP4 Player (MP4), Creative Zen (WMV, MP3, WMA), iRiver PMP, iPod nano, iPod shuffle (MP3), Pocket PC (WMV), Sandisk, Nokia, Motorola Phone (3GP) and so on.

Phew Finally I received all 4.19MB.It only took a shade under 3 hours. It has now installed on XPSP2 OK and I found the registration facilty after a scan of the opened program .A well hidden key icon at the bottom of the page. To register it only reqiured the key number as contained in the readme.txt not the user name which seemed odd but not to worry. All I now have to do is try it out but first sight the GUI certainly looks more user friendly and attractive than the rather plain and uniformative SUPER GUI
I'll report back later.

I have not tried this software, but my biggest question concerning these video converters that I've gotten here before is, why is it when you convert avi to flash video, the flash video is tinted greenish?
You tube recommends uploading flash video, but the slight green tint I get has prevented me from uploading flash videos to you tube.
You tube also recommends divx, quality was better but all I got was out of sync video and audio when you tube converts my divx to its flash.
I've only had great luck with low compressed WMV files.

A System Hook is a code, in this case to keep the software in its trial version and records what you type or paste into the register box and if you enter the right register key code it will either disable itself or report and wait for confirmation from the software website. Upon receiving confirmation it will disable itself and allow the full version to work. Because of the way it is coded it sometimes shows up as a false positive on some spyware programs.

Installed and ran fine on Windows XP Pro.
Simple interface, suits my basic AVI to WMV purposes just fine. Thumbs up so far.
Also, to post #70 -- you need to actually register the software, using the key code in the readme file -- I believe that is why you are only getting 50% conversions.

Downloaded and install was smooth no problems. Opened the software and clicked on the register button on the bottom and copy and pasted the registering number supplied from the grey pop up box given with the GAOTD file during installing, again no problems.
I compared this program against ZC Video Converter which was a giveaway from here in the past.
Both seem to do the same but the ZC Converter seems a little easier as far as choosing what format to use with what device you maybe using.
Example: In ZC you have in the list of 5 different iPods to choosefrom depending on which one you are going to use. Then after selecting you can fine tune the bitrite profile settings. In Aplus you click on the only one iPod device icon and hope to pick the right bitrite profile setting for that device.
ZC has many more format choices then Aplus like Blackberry, or DVD Vob files and a few others.
Both have similar settings for audio output.
Both do batch converting well.
Testing both using a 120mb wmv file to convert to an flv file. Using the same bitrite profile settings, both took under 5 minutes to convert and the output quality was the same.
Converting to other formats gave me no problems at all.
Though lacking a couple of conversion formats the Aplus had one advantage over the ZC converter and that would be the Aplus has a video player to view you input or output file which ZC does not have. The video player worked great with the different files I tried it with.
If you don’t have the ZC Converter and after installing the Aplus program, check the list of devices Aplus does have. It really seems to be a good program for what it does cover.
I give this thumbs up with only 7 out of 10 because of the lack of some of the formats it doesn’t cover. But it’s still a keeper. Thanks GAOTD and Aplus.
