The software won't let me sign up. The Get Verification Code just fails with "Unknown error" and refuses to let me sign up to use the music recorder.

I've been using this as my go to program since it was offered the last time. What I really like is that it automatically adds ID3 tag, including information about artist, album, etc. to every recorded song which for makes a big time saver.
Thanks GOTD

The software downloaded from here for the Mac is version 1.1.6.2138 not 1.2.6 and does not look anything like what is shown in the registration guide. More importantly, the registration code given comes back as invalid when you try to register the program.
If you go to the website to try to download the software, it shows an AceThinker Music Recorder page. If you click on Free Download, it takes you to Apowersoft to download ApowerREC which says it is a screen recorder. The registration code does not work for this software either, but at least the software looks more like what is shown in the registration guide.

If I play a Music CD on the computer will the programme enable me to record it at the same audio quality as the CD ie 1,411 kilobits per second (Kbps) and then copied to a blank CD at the same birate of 1,411 kilobits

Music CDs can be copied without any loss of quality -- Google ripping CDs. Recording a playing music CD both takes longer and reduces quality.

Sher, our software also supports copying the songs from CD to your local drive, please send your question to support@acethinker.com and we will help, thanks.

Sher, A good program for ripping/copying CDs to a lossless archival format is Exact Audio Copy, EAC. It rips to the FLAC compressed but lossless format, and is open source, and verifies the copies as it goes. Just Google it, and read the guides on how to set the settings. From the FLAC format you can convert them later to MP3 or other formats if/when desired. If you're wanting a fast rip to MP3, Windows Media Player still works well for that.

Does this software have any advantages over FireDM which is completely free and downloads quite literaly anything in any format from any source including YouTube etc..?
To be fair, I have never tried FireDM to record "live" music (for example a streamed radio broadcast) but if it has a copiable URL FireDM will download it into pretty much any format.
Downloading a song (mp3) from YouTube takes all of two seconds (verified).

Kip, One difference between today's giveaway and the software you cited, is that the license being offered is for 1 year, after which you will get to pay $39.95 to continue to use it.

Kip, if it was possible to save the original stream as-is 100% of the time [it isn't] software like Acethinker Music Recorder would probably not exist. Saving the audio stream requires almost zero resources from your PC/laptop, & preserves 100% of the original quality -- recording audio does not.
